There were some people on here who were a me to get clean vapor on max temp. Its all in how you draw, I know I would never risk it since I have so much variance in my draw. Yet my temps are settled at 315-340-365, Vape Dr's highest is my lowest!

When I first got my Elevape (many pages back now) I had my temps set at 360-380-400 after beginning with 1-5-7 that it came with and was doing great drawing super fast as described by early adopters. However after too many hits in a row at 400 I accidentally combusted by drawing too slow, and a few times after so I set my temps back down to want they are now.

I've still combusted a few times on even the lowest setting if I get too zoned and draw super slow, been a long time since its happened to me now though... That's the why the Elevape has 30 temp options, not just bc every strain is different, but bc every user is different. This is certainly a learning curve vape in many ways considering how simple it is to use, but once you figure out your settings and technique its pretty damn incredible.

Even not perfectly set it's extremely capable, easily the strongest hitting portable I've used. I think it can be similar to a log in a way bc of the potential power of just one hit, but it takes a little practice to get it consistently, at least underdog did for me. I think all convection vapes require certain techniques dependent on the user, many ways to get great results.

@Shit Snacks Is your coil heating up evenly around?
You may have to tweak it if its not.

That's how I am able to get great results at lower temps with the addition of the second screen as well.

Any one of my friends can grab my Elevape and take a hard or light pull and get great taste and vapor, coming nowhere near combustion.

Everyone calls it my "magic box".

I do think I should swap my coil now that I have spares, since my coil does looks rather worn, though the entire thing seems to heat up fine if I blow into the USB port with it opened up to see it glow. I want to try the two screens, but can't find that tool, if I do have it it must have gotten lost before I ever saw it...

The spare screens looks like they're not a fine as the one that came in my Elevape, is that why two helps you Doc? I can get hits on 3 too so I'm not sure exactly what it helps. Keep the sensor lens cleaner? Restrict airflow? Spread heat better through bowl?

I just had some hits old school without the stir lid and they were much bigger actually. I think its not stirring quite as well as opening it and tossing it with a toothpick does. I think using the stirrer without a lid gets the lid channels clogged bc the gap is too big (and using a corser grind, like even handbroken, didn't get stirred well either). I know I have more things to play with here, to really get the most out of it with the stir lid, I just think the lid could be improved with a slightly larger diameter and smaller prongs (and one in the center as well). Maybe having holes in the stir lid would also help maintain a more direct airflow, instead of pulling herb to the sides of the bowl, tiny holes like the T1 lid screen that can just be poked through when they eventually clog to clear. Much easier and quicker to clean than a mesh screen or using a brush in the lid to clear it. Just some more early thoughts, again as is its still tremendously useful

@Shit Snacks I'm pretty sure the bottom screen changing tool is a separate purchase, as I did not get one, either. Of course, I don't have extra bottom screens, either.
Even when I got my extra screens, I didn't get that tool.

I blow really hard across the sensor & under the coil. tiny bit of 99% ISO on a q-tip to just whisk the residual dust off it, and that's it for cleaning for me. I also blow through the USB port once, rather forcefully (mind the glow!) to ensure bits of herb dust blow out from around the coil legs.

I put a second lid screen on, to see how much that might help with bits getting through... and it seems to, but it also seems to slow down the resin collection on the lid screen.

So.....

I was bored.

I got an herbalizer oil pad, poked a hole in the center and ran the allen screw through the oil pad to attach it to the chamber lid.

I put some shatter on the oil pad.....
The ESV vapes shatter like a boss at 425-450F!

The ESV just keeps on impressing me.

I've been finding it very difficult to take off the lid, or even spin it, of my ESV in cold temperatures. The lid becomes very difficult to turn. For me, it was literally painful trying to remove the lid in cold temps. I was cursing up a storm.

I'm wondering if anyone with arthritis in their fingers owns an ESV and if opening it is a problem for them.

I continue to get very inconsistent results with my ESV. One hit will be perfect. Then two hits of getting nothing. Then suddenly it's a perfect hit the next time.

There seems to be significant bits of herb stuck *inside* my sensor. Perhaps that is causing the problem?

My mouthpiece has become quite loose from, I guess, carrying the ESV around with me constantly. You can hear it whenever I move the ESV.

Still loving the idea of the ESV, but as another poster mentioned a while back, the honeymoon is certainly over. I get much, much, much, much more consistent results from my FF.

EDIT: I just had to use an adustable wrench to get my lid off in sub - 50F degrees. And I spilled my entire load in the process. The process also made my thumb bleed.

DOUBLE EDIT: Without the double screen technique, I have to clean my ESV sensor after every 3 hits. Literally. After every three hits. Using a SpaceCase grinder.

I found that after I cleaned my lid (the sides where the o ring sits)
and the inside walls of the oven part with a q-tip and ISO, it opens and closes
much easier, maybe some resin is making it sticky, especially in colder weather?

There might be something wrong with your ESV, I'm having great results from day one
and I only have mediocre results or combustion when the lens is dirty.

DIY stir lid. Bent ss washer with a hole drilled into it and lots of file work.

Mounted a small strip of wood to the lid. Kinda scrappy lookin but makes spinning and removing much easier.

Hey guys!

So I was bored again....
I saw @chillersnov8p DIY stir lid which inspired me to make another stir lid that anybody can make themselves!

This is for everyone waiting on a production stir lid and can't wait!

All you need is:
allen wrench
small safety pin
needle nose pliers

Follow the pictures as an easy how to tutorial.

***I MUST WAN EVERYONE TO PAY EXTRA CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE CLEARANCE! YOU DONT WANT TO POKE THROUGH YOUR SCREEN!!!***

It is much easier if you take the top portion of your ESV off so you can see through the bottom of the screen!

Take allen screw out.

Place small safety pin in between allen screw with the safety pin at a 45 degree angle (if you try to spread it apart it just opens the center hole too much).

Using the needle nose pliers bend one end up flush, and bend the other end a little closer to center (for maximum stirring).

Now use the inside cutting part of the pliers to cut down each side of the safety pin (always leave the stir pieces longer than necessary, you can trim them down when test fitting:tup:)

From the top you can see one piece is at the edge and one piece is bent up closer to the center. I placed the pin here for 2 reasons.
1: There is no chance of poking through the screen when removing the lid if you rotate the chamber lid 180 degrees to take it off.
2: The part of the coil closest to the serial numbers seems to be the hotter side so it makes the most sense to be able to stir there first as you work your way around.

This couldn't be simpler to do. It took me all of 5 minutes to get from start to finish, snipping the ends a little by little for perfect clearance.

Now make sure you hit up the safety pin with a torch lighter to be sure its sterile.

When you put the safety pin in position on the chamber lid, remember how you take the chamber lid off.
I always flip my lid 180 degrees so the serial number is showing an the rounded portion is hanging off the side.
This way when I remove the chamber lid there is no fear of poking a hole in the screen (I have mine a cm above the screen).
Please take this into consideration when placing the safety pin on the chamber lid.
I don't want to see anyone poking holes in their screen:doh:!

***I am not responsible for damage to the screen on your ESV through improper installation!***

If you choose to Make my safety pin stir lid I am not responsible for any screen poking:cry:.

Do not let this scare you, I am just forewarning everyone about the possibility of poking a hole in your chamber screen if done improperly. Just take your time and you will be fine.

:leaf:Take the O-ring off the chamber lid to test fit so you don't have to force the lid on, this will help alot

This is extremely easy to make my friends!
If you take your time and do it carefully you will love the results!

@EveryDayAmnesiac I was thinking about your issue of the dirty lens.
First make sue you are using a fine screen.
If you have an extra fine screen, place that screen 30 degrees rotated from the other fine screen so there is less room for particulates to fall through.

I find 2 fine screens work the best to keep the unit super clean.

Are you by chance using only 1 coarse screen? If so, this may alleviate your issues.
Just my :2c:!

Fantastic @Vape Dr. ! Where were you several months ago? Such a simple and effective idea for a stirrer, if only you had gotten your Elevape sooner... lol

Apologies if its been done, but can we get a photo tutorial for replacing the coil? I'm thinking about swapping mine but am just really overly cautious with stuff like this, so would be great to see step by step what it should look like (still seems like I won't be able to replace my bottom screen without that tool, but I think the default fine screen that came in it works pretty well (it just has a black spot where I've accidentally combusted in the past)

Yea @Vape Dr. That was brilliant. The safety pin being ss and having a hole already makes it a perfect sv hack. I will also say again be careful with the depth of the stir unit, almost trashed my screen when constructing mine.

by the way can someone compare the elevape sv with the crafty or/and enano (especially regarding flavour, cloud size and efficency, also how much material do you use and how much clouds do you get out of it)

thanks...

Not totally sold on the stirring attachment idea. Granted I haven't used one but between the few I've made it doesn't churn the load it just moves it around. (This is partly due to my liking a packed bowl). My best hits are three pulls then churn. This is the most satisfying. That being said there are times when stirring isn't an option and the stir lid will be key. Having two lids, one set up with stir attachment and one set without might be the best set up.

I think that elevape should incorporate a thought-activated servo motor in the lid that will stir the load if you think it needs it, and leave it alone if it doesn't. Or perhaps this should happen automatically, without any actual thought involved. This would have to happen by incorporating various "load-state" sensors and perhaps a tiny cpu to sort out the data before sending a signal to start the servo's stirring action. I realize that we may need to advance miniaturization and even mechanical technology to make this happen.

I am really interested in this vape , But in the past 2 months since I fucked combustion and went to vaping I've had a lot of disappointments and spent a lot of money along the way , I am just grateful that Ebay lets you sell used vapes . This reminds me a lot of the firefly that I just recently got rid of . All the options and the fast 8 second draw is very appealing , I felt like I always had a 20sec plus draw on the Fly , and after 20sec of sucking when u don't get a hit it is very frustrating . I never felt the firefly was something I could just whip out of my pocket and take a quick hit and put back . Especially since It usually took till the second hit for things to warm up . This sounds more of what I wanted the Fly to be .

I have easily spent over $1k on vapes in under 2 months , but the only two I still have are the crafty and the Air . They are both session style and I feel like te elevapes features would fit in nicely to my collection . Also the efficiency mentioned on this vape interests me . I feel like I would go broke if the crafty was my only vape as I really go through a lot of material when using it, The Air is a lot better in this regard and I can keep my daily intake around .5 to 1g using it . So I have the elevape and a enano on my list of things to get next , really looking to find something that gives me this great "efficiency from vaping" that I keep on reading about

I'm going to guess that the Air experience will "spoil" you for the ESV. This is based on my one-time draw on a Solo -- the draw is markedly different. From what I have heard, having a different draw can make one dislike any particular vape.

The ENano has a kinda similarity to the Solo (Arizer, parents of the Air, too), with the glass stems, the draw is/can be very close, if you pack your stem firmly. The ESV has a very easy draw, and you'll have to figure out your own drawspeed to regulate vapor density.

I love my ESV, but between your Air and the Crafty, I think you have portables well covered. Consider a base station vape, like the Nano.

I picked an ESV up a little while ago and I just haven't been able to figure it quite out yet. First off, the red light on the top of the unit never lights up. I recall reading about this happening to another member, so I shrugged it off.

Every time I've tried to use it, I've combusted. I haven't plugged it in to my windows box to see the current settings just yet, but so far I'm not a very happy user and I wish I had went with either a Crafty or an Air instead. I'll keep at it and try more draw techniques, but i've tried slow, fast, hard, soft, short, long, etc etc etc, all to gross combustion.

Definitely not an easy vape to deal with... In regard of your issues I'd recommend lowering the temps and maybe looking at the coil and making sure it doesn't sit too high.

Personnaly I'm not happy with mine... several reasons to that and before finding the time to post about it I'd like to try a few more things but unfortunately it's been a couple of weeks that my coil broke (3rd time) but this time I can't fix it, I've contacted the european "CS" guy but it looks like I won't have the opportunity to use my ESV again this year... I'm really, really not impressed.
