I officially give up on the ESV, and take back anything positive I've said about it. I was wrong.
This thing is ridiculously sensitive, ridiculously finicky, and ridiculously dependent on everything being just so... the coil, the screens, the draw, etc. This is not a user-friendly unit, IMO.
I just got my unit back (again) from home base on Friday, and I haven't been able to produce a single hit of vapor. Not a single hit.
And yes, I know about the videos in this thread. You don't need to point them out to me. I see them.
Changing the heating coil? Yeah, know all about it. I've broken or distorted four of them in the past 24 hours trying to change them. Really not as easy for me as some may have suggested.
I've tried different screens, and screens arrangement, and nothing.
I know the unit is heating up sometimes, because I burnt my finger in the process of checking the coil for even heating. Really bad burn, actually. My fault completely. But no matter what I do with the coils or the tightness of the screws, it either heats unevenly when I check it (and after I've plugged it into the computer for a minute), or it doesn't heat at all. I am just fed up with this thing.
I know some of you claim to be having great success with this unit with no problems at all, and will say so, but I no longer am. Wildly erratic and uneven. I haven't had a working unit for a few weeks now.
I have zero confidence left for this unit.
And I really don't need to hear any "tips." I have tried them all. I am not a newb to vaporizing.
When it works, it's amazing. Unfortunately, no matter what I do, even sending it back to be checked up, mine refuses to perform consistently, or at all, anymore.
In fact, before I sent it back most recently, I ended up combusting at the very lowest level of temp (supposedly 305F) while at work and indoors. Yeah, that was fun. One minute, I'm getting no vapor, and the next, I'm filling my lungs with literal smoke. Good times.
If you're thinking of buying this unit... well, I'd wait on that, unless you like to tinker and fiddle and mess around with your vaporizers regularly.
I for one am sending my unit back to the company one last time. I don't expect to get it back, nor get any of my money back. They can just have it.
