Is anyone else having a hard time with the new design of Ti CCDs? I'm finding that they fit extremely loose or are falling out of my 4th gen Ti tip even if I get them in the groove perfectly. I inspected each one and they seem to be not crushed or bent in any fashion. They simply seem too small or the grooves are too wide, I can hear them rattle around in the groove if my tip is clean.

I combusted in my Omni the first day and so I detail stripped it and cleaned everything with iso and PBW. I had to reinstall the CCD and used the pen trick and it went in tight and fine and is even slightly concave in the center like it's slightly too big.

I have Ti CCDs and this an Omni ordered last Wednesday (arrived Saturday - wow!) so I assume it's the newest gen tip.

I had this issue. Contact VC. I am trying out replacements now. The replacements still aren't snug like the old gen tip and screens though... After a few uses they stopped being loose. They've stayed in position for the past few days where as the other ones I had would come loose and go sideways or collapse with pressure.

While the replacements are staying in position, I definitely liked the last gen screens and fit within the ti tip better. Personally I thought the last gen ones were easier to position as well as being more robust and strong.

I like putting the fiber here instead. It's much quicker to access and change frequently and this also lets me do some reclaiming on the tip. I did put a regular mesh screen directly behind the CCD screen too. Performance doesn't suffer even when going a long time without cleaning the tip. I've got a nice layer of gunk on the wall now and will be mining that gold pretty soon.

Doesn't the filter prevent some of the MJ goodness reaching my dopamine receptors?

It's negligible. As long as the fiber isn't overdone/too thick you'll never notice a difference in your level of high. My cotton filters are thin enough that draw resistance doesn't even take a big hit. But it sure keeps the condenser clean and smooths the vapor even more than it already is. Besides, you can take the filter once it's saturated in goo and stick it in the chamber and do you-know-what with it

I know you've said the only real difference is length, but
do you feel less need to use a filter like that in the longer XL models?

I use a filter sandwich in all my tips. My favourite Vapcaps seem to have little to do with length and more to do with aesthetic appeal. My favourites do not deliver better performance than my other Vapcaps. They ALL perform.

Ok I was a bit impulsive and made a stupid mistake. I had the noble intention to clean my OG with only water to wash off the cleaning solution that was still on it. I thought it was a good idea to use boiling water to be sure the cleaning solution would go away.. I heard a ticking noise and saw a tiny crack in the glass body. I forgot that glass expands when it absorbs heat. To all the OG owners: Do not repeat my mistake. Don't use boiling water for cleaning your OG!

I want to take my Omni to Amsterdam with me but I have only hand luggage. Would I be able to pass airport checks with the omni in my bag?

The omni should be easy to get 99% clean, just use iso on a q tip. Pack it with tobacco and and you should be fine. It looks very professional, no stoner vibes at all, so it shouldn't attract any attention.

You will need to buy a torch there, however.

Hi @Arielle.Dynavap . I love how the website is constantly improving, the component list for each model and the overall length etc. is very helpful.

It has occurred to me that in addition to a FAQs page that some additional info might be listed on each model and part page. Information such as the model compatability with a Dynastash and with other midsections.

Maybe a blurb could be added as well to the home page promoting the modular build.

Us stoners really like playing with our Vapcaps. Helping new customers grasp this modular feature, the ability to switch up parts is a strong incentive to add to the collection.

But the omni is a metal object that officials might question. I might just buy an OG because if that gets taken off me it's only cheap to replace

My suggestion is to be honest with them about it being a vaporizer, and tell them you use it to quit smoking tobacco. The OG looks a lot more "druggie" and may cause more suspicion. But you're right that the stakes are lower with the OG given the lower value.

Since you don't have a torch there is no risk that you'd use it on the plane, so I can't see why they wouldn't allow it.

Ethanol & concentrate/reclaim can do one trix: once it's thick, blend in your kif, & add fresh-ground bud to 'soak up' all the resin until you have a well-mixed, friable mass ('comes apart easily'). Pick your music, get comfortable, and....

So I'm currently trying that, doing my first vapcap reclaim purge right now

@Ramie121 If you were concerned about taking one into Schiphol perhaps @VapoShop could arrange delivery to your hotel?

Otherwise I'd be taking 2, one for back up. Use and abuse one and gift it to a local.

Torch? Perhaps any Dutch FCers may know about that one if you intend buying local.
You would have to check if an empty torch is allowed in carry on.

I know that the instructions say grinding is not necessary. Are you guys finding that grinding is always a good idea? I originally started just plucking little pieces of nugs off, or using the tip to 'core sample' a larger nug. I got curious and started using my grinder (a four piece knockoff of a SCS that I got from my dispensary as a gift), which grinds very coarse. This is far better performance. Am I not doing the original method right?
