those metal stems are really nice. I would try my hand at those, but my little Taig lathe wont handle SS. Made for brass, aluminum... Soft steel is its linit. and titanium milling has a fire riskWith a lathe in your shop, and some happy tokes,
Your creativity too should exceed
Great expectations, D! No bounds

If you use a condenser and the DynaVap tip has o-rings do you think acetal would get hot enough to off gas?those metal stems are really nice. so woodies and acetal for me
oh, there is a high temp plastic I would love to use...but at 150$ a foot for rod stock
... so anyone up for a 80-90$ plastic stem

That ss tip looks sweet@Ramahs I picked up the Grav Upright and Spherical Pocket Bubblers along with a couple of others during the 4/20 sales:
Between the four, I definitely prefer the two Grav bubblers. I find the Martian to be too small and awkward to handle. It works ok, but it feels more like a novelty to me. I don't think I'll be using it in the future.
The Upright works well but can't stand on its own with a Vapcap inserted, unlike the sphere and the beaker. I find the mouthpieces on the Gravs to be more comfortable to use over the beaker, and I also find I get the occasional splash of water with the beaker, but never with the Gravs.
I generally don't put too much water into the bubblers, and I'm finding that I use the spherical one raised up so the VC is pointing up when inserted giving it the feeling of a smoking pipe. When using it like this the tip of the VC is about 3 inches or so away from my face. It's a little close, but not uncomfortably so for me.
The upgright and tend to use tilting downward slightly, and due to this and the wider angle of the mouthpiece and joint, the tip of the VC ends up being about 4-5 inches from my face
After ordering the glass, I came across these new mouthpieces from @primitiveorganic:
They work very well with the above bubblers. The fit is perfect and it forms a nice seal. I feel like I'm getting much bigger and thicker hits than I was using the water pieces with the standard mouthpieces.
Due to the narrower opening at the end, a smaller condenser o-ring is required. Pictured below are the two standard condenser o-rings from Dynavap on the left and in the middle. The mouthpiece-specific o-rings are on the far right. Three of the small rings were provided with each mouthpiece:
The smaller rings are a pain to get on the condenser, but only one is required at the opening of the mouthpiece. You can use the standard rings in all other places. I also find that the fit is pretty tight and as a result, the mouthpiece doesn't spin very well, if at all.
Gotta be honest, I'm not fond of the logo imprinted on the side. I think I'd prefer either a logo or the words "Simrell Collection" etched on the bottom of the mouthpiece as opposed where it is now. I also find them to be slightly pricey, but I also find it hard to argue the value they provide.
Despite my minor gripes, I'd still recommend the mouthpiece to anyone interested in using their VC's natively with 10mm connections.
Some pics of the mouthpiece inserted:
In the above pic, the VC is resting on the Portside Mini, without it, it'd topple over.
Below is the Spherical bubbler with my snazzy new sand blasted @mrb stem:
Once the VC is heated, I can use this guy one-handed, which is convenient.
Finally, a pic of the aforementioned snazzy @mrb stem and an Omni with the Simrell mouthpieces along with my new @phattpiggie stem because it also fits a 10mm connection like a champ and frankly, I think it's just nice to look at :
