Anyone having issues with the App not notifying the phone when the vape is at temp?

Vibrate works but for some reason alarm tone doesn’t work.

Gentlemen, Mighty user here. I gotta say I would love a crafty one day for portability, but they gotta get rid of that damn app. The mighty is still very portable tho, but I love this slim design crafty even better.

I was wondering if these units die out or break down often? I would hope for $300-400 you would get over two years at a minimum. My mighty has lasted almost two years with no problems, I dropped it a few times, even in a Lake once (got it out quickly), and the battery holds a good charge still.

Hello everybody
A new owner of the new crafty bought in January 2018.
Thanks for the community for the information shared
My crafty has only 2 hours of works and since the first uses when I have two bar of battery in the smartphone application the battery goes directly to zéro bar and stop working very quickly. I opened a Rma yesterday and I am going to send it to S&B monday (I will use it this week-end :-)
Somebody has the same issue ?
Thanks
Sorry for my bad english I hope it will be understable for the most

Welcome to the forum.
Does the battery indicator ever show full charge, or just two bars, then zero satisfaction?
How many bowls are you able to get from a full charge? Should be several.
Sometimes the charge indicator has to be re-calibrated, by running the device all the way to zero, then fully charging again. However, it does sound like yours may have some problem, so wait and see what S&B recommends. They will make it right! If they want it back, be sure to get a pre-paid shipping label from them.

Hello vapviking, thanks for your quick reply
When I charge the crafty I can see it on the smartphone application ( five bars).
I think I made five charges since I bought it, three fully charge and two from 40% to 90% then the calibration has been done three times. Concerning the autonomy I think it's around 35mn it's not too bad but like it's the new battery with 20% more and I use the crafty with low temp (177C to 190C) it could have a problem with the battery which goes down too quickly at low voltage.
I sent a RMA yesterday at S&B and I received ten minutes after the pre-paid shipping label. I hope I don't send it for nothing.
Have a good day

I got really lucky and found a secondhand, barely broken in Crafty for real cheap and it wasn't too far to travel for it.
It was definitely one of those ones where I couldn't do much better and it would be crazy not to buy it!
20% extra battery sticker, and the countdown vibration is a great feature, as is boost and the adjustable timer.

The bowl and rim are spotless, it's going to be hard to use without capsules if I do!
At first I was worried as it gave no vapor, but I found the guy had it set to 140C for his uses.

I thought it hit a little stronger than the Mighty owing to the reduced size cooling unit, and the heating algorithms might be improved over my old Mighty, also the battery would be fresher in this Crafty.
Another little new tweak I noticed was what appears to be a type of small turbulence fin on each air hole under the bottom screen, it's not on my Mighty.
The Crafty has no tendency to make me cough.

Buying this, means I won't be spending on the recent flurry of new vapes for a while (could be a blessing), but with this Crafty I got what I was always wanting in a portable vape.
Small, tasty and powerful without burning my mouth or tongue in the slightest. And it's so light, fresh looking when new, and still modern feeling to use.
I'm so looking forward to the spring/summer outdoors with this!
I had already decided to sell my Pax3 as it doesn't really suit me and I had been bringing Mighty everywhere, so it's great I found this just now and decided to bite on it.

If I were you I would just go for it! I spent a while deciding if it would be worth it or not, and now that I've finally got one I'm impressed and excited to use it even while owning a Mighty already.
It is lovely and light, if you suffer from any fatigue it will be a joy for you.
Very comfortable in the hand and novel to be that small giving such high vapor quality.
I can hardly stop using it as my only vape since, which I probably shouldn't have done with an earlier Crafty in case it put too much pressure on it??!

You can use the standard settings of 180 and 195C to great effect without ever using an app, but there are some handy settings in the app which make it worthwhile also.
You could have somebody adjust your start and boost temps just once to suit you perfect, and never need to use the app again.
I do understand that it would be an idea to have an onboard screen, but for me right now I'm cool with the way this works and can be pre-programmed if required. Especially having a Mighty here also so I can decide to give up the small Crafty size if I'm going some place where I want to use an onboard screen and more than one button!

As for the reliability I think they may have gotten better over time, and they will stand behind their units under warranty.
There are some user/FC guidelines that may improve your chances of avoiding failures.
If you did happen to have a bad time with RMAs you could always get out by selling your newest replacement to a poor soul like me, or upgrade to another S&B model?

Maybe just keep it out of those lakes and it'll be fine?!

Long may it run, @blackstone !
I would love to see reliability reports improve, even for people who ride them hard. It's a nice little piece.
I started with a Crafty (my first S&B product), didn't have a smart phone so I always waited for my daughter to stop by so I could look under the hood, even change temps. Not ideal, but I made due.
Problem was I went thru 4 of them in about 18 months, then went to a Mighty and have not looked back. It's outlived the warranty and then some...

Thank you vapviking, here's hoping!
I feel good about it, maybe as it's so new looking?
And I'm after coming the other way owning a Mighty for almost two years and bought this due to the good experience I had.
Maybe I'm spoiled with Mighty reliability, but it feels solid so far!

I've decided to choose 200C as my upper ceiling for now, and I wont do back to back without cooling, or charge when hot, nor use through water.
Can't think of much else?
I should end up using it mainly out and about, but I hope some vibrations in transit won't be an issue.
Thanks again for wishing me well, that might help also!

Another little observation but my Mighty is quite a heavy weight for me after spending a few days holding the newer Crafty!
Maybe a newer Mighty is lighter too.

Has this recent photo of a Crafty with removable battery been shared/discussed here?

Damn, can't get my Flickr to show here... this is the original link: https://californiaweedblog.com/2018/01/27/7-things-may-not-know-crafty-vape/

It has, I remembered it was a material like brass used in the conversion,
so I searched this thread for the word brass.
There are more pictures back here, June 2017:
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-crafty-by-storz-bickel.15984/page-347#post-1128252

If you work backwards it shows a version 1, and if you go a little forward in the conversation you can see details of how the user did it, and materials etc.

For sure, a Crafty that was solid built to last 5-10 years, with a battery hole just like that, would be an answer to many peoples prayers!

I just purchased my first vape, Davinci IQ, and after a few days noticed that it doesnt produce a lot of vapor.
Today i smoked a bowl out of the Crafty, and it produced huge hits compared to the davinci, much thicker vapor, only downside is the bowl went much quicker
Should i purchase a Crafty or Mighty? Which one will last longer? What are the real sifferences besides battery and size?
Thanks

I've had my crafty for quite a while and thought about if I ever need to send it in for repair if I would upgrade it to a Mighty, and I can say that the Crafty has a real special place in how small it is, you can hide it in your palm whereas a mighty looks like you're holding a big cellphone almost. For that reason alone, I plan to keep this form factor for stealth portability.

The mighty has benefits that the crafty doesn't, but they both hit just as good as each other as far as I know.

Also your load went quicker because its a powerful portable vaporizer. I put my crafty on par with extraction and medication with my desktop vapes.

The crafty hits( almost or just) as hard as the mighty imo but battery, even with the extra 20% is too short and Heat up times suck ass!
A replaceable battery and <30 second heat up time and it is unbeatable.
The capsules are a dream while out!
I love it deeply but it mostly it is shelved due to heating up times.
Usually grab the M or ff2 these days unless out with friends where the crafty shines.
