Have they changed box design for the new, better battery, version of Crafty? Is not it supposed to be white and blue with orange line as opposed to blue and orange? In general how does one tell new version from the original one? thank you

Yep, the new one is the blue/white packaging. There’s no sticker anymore saying 20% extra.
Other than that, I think you needed to check the firmware or manufacturing date - or the serial - with Storz n Bickel. They respond quickly.

Hope this helps

Glad I could help! :)

I think it's V2.51 featuring all this:
• Compatible with Apple Watch • Turn on your CRAFTY via App • "Find my CRAFTY" function • Extend the auto-shutoff time up to 5 minutes • Auto-shutoff countdown • Save previously connected serial numbers • User defined alarm tones

Just checked mine, purchased six weeks ago. Firmware is v2.53. Why don't I see any "Turn on your CRAFTY via App?" Am I looking in the wrong place?

PS: I've been vaping for about four years now. Owned MFLB to CFX and CF to FF2 to this. I have had more fun with my Crafty, like a kid in a candy store. The dosing caps are a fantastic addition, making loading and unloading far far neater, cleaner and faster. I've been hooking it up via the mouthpiece(I do have the direct attaching water pipe adapter too) to a bubbler and loving it. Yes, much slower to heat up than the FF2 or even the CFX, but so much more consistent in giving good hits. Worth the wait.

So has reliability been improved with the crafty I'm on V02.53 with 65hours on it, just wondering what to expect because a couple of past crafties craped out around this time. Longest one I had was 120 hours, and the worse performing was 48 hours. I actually wanted to record smashing my crafty with a hammer, when the warranty is out, because of all the pain of warranty repair, and put it up on youtube, but I'm glad I didn't because I got the discount for the second one. lol

Draw tightened this session, I should clean the CU more often. About half a gram of dank crafty reclaim

Also If it’s off the crafty
- You can push down on the button in the middle (Just in front of the hologram) to push the two halves apart

I pop it off after a session, everything is nice and warm but be careful! I almost got that beautiful oil on my shirt as I wasn't expecting that :o

Crafty app is acting really weird. The little Bluetooth connection whirly just keeps whirling without confirming the connection. And the screen is dimmed. But when I turn the Crafty on, I can watch the temps going up on the app. And when I plug it in, I can see the changing bars flashing and filling. And I'm still able to go into boost mode and see temps rising in dimmed app. But the adjustment buttons are not responsive and neither are the icons on the bottom to go into other screens. Stuck. This is on my ipad mini, if that makes a difference. Thanks for any help.

Have you tried deleting the app and downloading the latest version?

So we can turn on the Crafty with the app now, that’s a great update that actually makes the app worthwhile now.
I would never have noticed if it wasn’t for @vapen00b so cheers for that.
Of course you have to leave Bluetooth on to make this useful.
Does anyone have any experience with that?
Does Bluetooth permanently on have a noticeable effect on the battery?
If I leave it on for a couple of days & don’t use it am I likely to see any significant battery drain?
I’m gonna have a try so I’ll find out over the next few days anyway.

(Quick aside
Thanks for your reply to my very first FC comment (2 years ago)
it was about a counterfeit firefly - it was deleted by the mods the next day
So I didn’t get a chance to give you a response - lol)

..to answer your question - yes
I find there is a noticeable effect

my 3rd and final RMA crafty has been losing its charge
was getting worried because I thought it might be the battery dying early
- But I do exactly that..
I have the permanent Bluetooth on and maybe don’t use it for a couple of days after charging
Then I’m wondering why the first bar drops so quickly
..I guess that must be the cause

I’ve found that if I’m not already using the phone (eg just walking)
unlocking phone and bringing up app on screen to switch it on is more laborious than just pulling out the crafty and switching it on

I also quite often have problems connecting with the Bluetooth
Even though it’s set to permanently on

But it is useful sometimes

I'm not sure if others have noticed, but Bluetooth on the Crafty is always active when it's plugged in to charge. This is with the always on setting turned off.

I remember that @cloudsosmoke I actually still have that clone. It died but I kinda liked it so I bought a genuine Firefly 2. That came with a spare battery which I shoved it in the OG clone & it fired back up. In the end everyone won.

Yeah I agree with you it is a pain to have to open your phone just to turn on your vape & I can see times when it’d be handy too.

I also have problems connecting & have to toggle Bluetooth on & off while the App is open.

I’m on my first Crafty & coming up to 40hrs. I try to keep it charged because I use mine on 210c & it heats up faster with a full battery.

I guess if it needs a return I’ll deal with it, I’ve never had to RMA my Volcano so I give them extra points for that.

I'm not sure if others have noticed, but Bluetooth on the Crafty is always active when it's plugged in to charge. This is with the always on setting turned off.
I find it really handy to check the charge status but an option to turn off while charging would be nice.

Question: 3 of my vapes have apps.Is it incumbent upon me to delete the apps every so often & download the same ones to make sure I have the latest version or are buyers notified when to do so, as was the case with FF2?

Last evening I was using my dosing caps for kief sandwiches. I was given a pile of trim by a medical grower friend, and sifted it to end up with two or three grams of creamy powder. I put in a bit of Northern Lights in the dosing cap first, so that not too much of the powder would leak out the bottom. Then a healthy layer of kief, then a layer of SO Blueberry. Hooked the Crafty up to my Sneaky Pete Globe and had a lovely evening. Six or seven hits at merely 360 and then two knock-my-socks off hits in boost mode. Fantastic!

The dosing caps make using sandwiches so much more convenient and so so so so so much cleaner. For this weekend's SB party, I will be putting together half a dozen pre-filled sandwich dosing caps. Too much fun! I need a bumper sticker that says: I (Heart) Dosing Caps!

Nice the battery worked
Mines gathering dust..crafty was my replacement
I’m tempted to ask if the clones performance was similar
..but then I think that’s why my comment was deleted lol
(FC policy of zero publicity I suppose ..which is fair enough)

If your unlucky..RMAs are at least fairly painless
