Does anyone have the crafty and the mighty? I'm asking on the behalf of a friend who wants one because he likes my mighty but thinks it's too big.


I bought the mighty and i'm more than happy with it.
A friend wants the crafty for the smaller form factor but is concerned it'll have a lot shorter battery life than my Mighty does.
My Mighty has proven itself to be a true warrior time and time again.

I don't have both (I have the Crafty), and battery life is the main difference. Plus the Crafty uses an app to control temp settings. I chose the Crafty because of size too, and shorter battery life isn't such a big deal to me. I just recharge after about every third session.

It will absolutely have a shorter battery life, by roughly half (Mighty has 2 batteries, the Crafty 1).

It just depends what your friend's primary desire for it will be. If they plan on using it with anyone besides themselves, I'd go for the Mighty. Any more than one person with the Crafty, and it tends to get too hot. Back to back bowls on the Crafty usually aren't a good idea unless they're small and you're vaping super quick.

I love my Crafty, but I generally try and steer my friends towards the Mighty unless they absolutely need the smaller form factor and understand the limitations.

This is true as well. Haven't ever timed my Mighty but it is definitely quicker. I'd hazard a guess of maybe 45 seconds quicker if I had to put a number on it.

This is true as well. Haven't ever timed my Mighty but it is definitely quicker. I'd hazard a guess of maybe 45 seconds quicker if I had to put a number on it.

Mighty charges much faster than Crafty. More powerful charger than Crafty's usb. Don't know exactly, but about 90 min. as opposed to 120 min., then Mighty lasts twice as long on that charge.
Mighty does stay appreciably cooler than Crafty even in normal use and a lot cooler in heavy use/temps.
I could still fit Mighty into my jeans pocket if I had to. I realize now that with Crafty I never did anyway --too much dust in my pockets and all those nooks and crannies to catch dust on these vapes...
I, along with every Mighty owner, would prefer it if the Mighty could stand upright unaided.

Crafty App is an interesting tech aspect, but the simple and on-board Mighty controls make me not miss having to keep the phone around in case I want to change a temp. setting.
Crafty's lights. Don't get me started about the many stories told by the lights on Crafty. (see Operator's Manual, hopefully after writing down the pattern of lights you think you just saw. See Table for your outcome.)

That's a fine comparison. Dunno if it was just me, but I also found the Mighty's vapour marginally smoother and cooler. Just ever so slightly. I was thinking it's because the CU is a little bigger.

That kinda sucks man , it is such a nice vape i like to use my mighty everyday. I have a decent rotation of vapes myself and i like to keep all mine in great condition but once a week just don't cut it when these are $300+ , they need to be used. Plus none of my others get me as ripped as my Mighty does unless i go to one of my desktops.

I don't use portables that often but I also have a lotus and a vg glass sherlock, and have prepaid for a few more coming sooner than later (I hope lol). At home I have three discontinued/prototype plugins, the og cloud is a backup but the sublimator and versa infinity are daily drivers, and a couple of 7th floor vapes waiting in the wings.

I'm kinda similar, I love my crafty but don't use it all day everyday, for me it's my getting ready for bed vape (full bowl finished in a few pulls) I have a good selection of vapes (or I think I do, and that's what counts right?) and vape morning to night so my tolerance is up there, my way around this is by switching it up using different vapes for different times/places/effects, for me this works and it means all of my vapes have an easier life, and I just abuse the ones that I know can take it and never miss a beat.

A bit like the way I wouldn't use my cars for work when my van is better suited, I keep my LSV attached to my bedsidetable and my SSV and lotus + WPA on the living room table for times when I'm relaxed and not moving around, my portables are scattered around the house and I just grap one when I'm up and about depending on how long I want to vape, what I'm doing or what I want to get from it, then if I go out I take an ecig with ejmix for super stealth topup hits or another portable if I don't need to be discreet.

Horses for courses, variety is the spice of life and all that kinda stuff, if it works keep doing it, if you like it fantastic, that's what it's all about.

Hey all
Bought my Crafty at the end of September, it's a 024 serial with 2.07 firmware. It's my first vape, and I'm using it with the first herb I've purchased myself. I'm enjoying it so far, though like everyone else I wish the battery lasted a bit longer.
I really enjoy the Crafty and smartphone app, because I have no vision, so there's no way for me to read screens or tell the color of lights. So being able to set the temperature with my phone's speech is awesome, and having the vape vibrate at all the important points is incredibly useful. Seeing all the comments about reliability have me thinking about a backup though. Are there any other portables that will vibrate when turned on or off and when they're up to temperature? The smartphone app is a nice extra, but I can learn how temperatures are set if I have to. That vibration is really important though. I've been doing some reading and I haven't come across any others that vibrate when they're heated up, which is really the most important one. So if anyone has suggestions, please throw them my way.

Yes I agree. If vapes were vehicles I would think of the crafty as the ducati or harley stashed in the garage, only to be used for occasional high-performance touring. It's disappointing that these new portables don't seem to stand up to heavy usage; I think letting it cool more between bowls could help a lot with this. In fact the only spot of trouble I've had is when I was sharing, and tried to fire up another bowl too soon.

@Shieldsab , The summit vibrates when you turn it on, off and reach temp.

It has Seperate buttons for up and down temp selection so easy to do without looking (it stops at top and bottom temp, so you can keep pressing until you know it is at max or min temp, and can then 'count back' to the one you want)

A slight drawback for you may be that it does not vibrate when it times out to standbye after 90 seconds, but this feedback has been given and will likely be addressed in future updates, if it hasn't already.

Got a question: If the crafty hits target temp and you walk away for a minute or two is the material affected like with a conduction vape? I mean could you theoretically walk away for 5 minutes, come back and take a draw as if that were the first draw?

Lol 350 for a vape and you can only use it sparringly in fear of breakdown. Lol that analogy is horrible lls

I've had to turn mine off, then back on 15 mins later and got medicated hits.

Because this is a convection vape does that mean it only vapes when hot air is passed through the material ? Seems like it could only heat the material when you draw so theoretically it could be on for quite a while without it "cooking" the material

I haven't tested this but, based on my experience, I'd say it's a combination of convection and conduction and you're going to see some cooking going on. I'd love to hear dissenting evidence.

There is some conduction going on so material will cook very slowly. As for testing leaving it on and walking away. There is an auto shut off function after 1 minute. You can absolutely come back to a session. Not exactly where you left off but not far.

Do you know if the inner ring in the crafty heats up? I'm guessing it does and thus cooks the material a bit. Oh heck, I'll heat it up without material to see

EDIT: The chamber most definitely heats up. So I just discovered what everybody here probably already knows: it's a conduction/convection hybrid.

Crafty versus Mighty
Do you have both of these vaporizers?
Which do you prefer for walking around your home and yard only .... not interested in use at clubs, parks, camping, etc ... just at your favorite sitting spot at home and moving around the house. And WHY do you prefer it?

Neither stealth nor odor suppression are of any concern, only ease and comfortableness of use are important to me in this choice.

I already have and love a Mighty, and think that I should have a spare ... and am considering the Crafty. Thanks for your input.
