Got something new today but had no opportunity to grind. I can't stand to have something new and not try it. Things quieted down so I ran to the hiding place, tore off part of a nug and dropped it in the Crafty. I could not believe how long the taste lasted. Ground usually gives me 3–4 hits of flavor, the nug easily gave 12 at boost. I'll see later how the extraction looks but it tasted great and feels great. Try it out if you haven't. It was probably half of what would go in there ground and it's doing the trick.

ETA: wow. Just checked and that nug was beautifully toasty.

Not for a newer one (with an empty bowl), should be more like 1:45/1:50... just shows how quickly the battery wears down.

I'm at about 2:20, I haven't timed it with an empty bowl, but doesn't seem much longer than when it was new. At 53 hours, the battery on my unit has shown negligible wear.

Do you notice any more draw resistance after 50 hours compared to brand new? For me it was only noticeable after I cleaned under the screen

I just replaced the oven screen and cleaned under the screen for the first time in 50 hours of max temp use and there was a significant change in draw resistance.

Try timing it to 180c with an empty bowl. It does warmup faster.

Interesting. Another item I put thought into due to my volcano ecxerience. They have had a 10 plus year client.

Any heavy concentrate users have advice on this. I do not like concentrates on original volcano one bit ...
How about on this device ?

Thx

Are you trying to charge right after using it? If you are it may be because the battery is too hot which is normal. If not than you may have a defective unit my friend.

The crafty's bowl is too big for solo use, I'm going back to the firefly for just myself.

I love both of these vapes, they really compliment each other well
One thing I have to agree with is the Crafty and Mighty get you Plenty baked . . . ;) So convenient for travel, just got back from the beach and it all went swimmingly . . . :D

Its easy to just load a smaller bowl and tamp it down a bit. Works great. Sometimes I toss the medicine early because I've had enough.

I agree. I Don't like the liquid pad. I taste metal for the rest of the day every time I use it. I've been telling people for a while now that if you tamp well, I don't think the pad is needed. I load small bowls all the time and they produce visible vapor just fine. And I only use the default temp. Tamp tamp tamp. It does the trick.

Also, T-dub, I sometimes just tap mine early too. Vaping seems so much more efficient than smoking ever did, and for that reason, I really don't feel like I'm "Wasting" much at all. Belive it or not I save all my left over for my brother. He blasts it when I give him enough and makes low grade oil out of it. So in the end, tapping early isn't much of a waste at all. Just went into the oil instead. lol.

Have you tried more than one pad? I have an extremely sensitive palate and sense of smell/taste, and have never ever tasted any hint of metal whatsoever. I'm wondering if something didn't cure properly or was machined with too much oil or something? Might be worth a shot trying a different pad?

I know this sounds kind of stupid, but in the 1/2 dozen or so hours of usage I have actually not taken the Crafty out of the house! Yesterday I actually took advantage of its portability and it worked great for me in the car!

Although I still love my Arizer Air, damn...i'm not sure I can ever part with the Crafty! This vape is just freakish!

Hmm... I've been packing the hell out of my crafty (up to the lower rim of the bowl), I seem to be under the impression it works best that way. I'll give a loose halfpack another shot next time around.

I have actually. I bought one and cut it to fit a different vape I had before the Crafty even came out. Same thing then.

When I bought my Crafty I gave the liquid pad another try, then a few more after just to confirm the metallic taste wouldn't just "burn off. "

Don't know how to explain it. No one else seems to taste it either. But I'm not crazy. Lol. Happens every time and the taste does not go away for basicly all day.

Ah well, most, if not nearly all, seem to love the LP, that's great. Just seems to have a odd reaction with me, so my point to anyone else that may, for whatever reason, not like using the pad, is that tamping well, ( and a nice fine grind. Crafty grinder works well. ) does a pretty nice job to.

The CU screen gets dirty fast with partial bowls and without using the pad. I have not tasted any metal in my usage.

One thing I would recommend is to always remove the CU and blow out the screen right after use. It cleans very easily before it cools. Just a couple quick breaths and its spotless. If you wait till it cools it becomes very sticky to the screen and does not want to come off nearly as well.

I use the fine mesh screen and don't have issues with a clogged screen. I do clean my unit about every other week, including the screen. So maybe this is another reason I don't seem to have trouble in this area.

Again, not trying to talk anyone out of the LP. Nearly everyone seems to like it. I'm just leaving crumbs for the occasional user like myself that has a sensitivity to it.

I have 102 hours on my unit now, all used with out the LP. Just tamped. Just presenting reasonable options.

I was doing some experiments with smaller loads last night, and didn't use the LP and only tamped and my results were just as impressive.

Damn, it didn't take long of taking the Crafty out of the house to realize how much more I love the device compared to my Arizer Air! I just can't get over how much better the Crafty's airflow is in comparison. Add to that the precision of temps, vapour quality, no breakable glass pieces, and ease of use and I have a new flagship portable! I don't see myself using the Air again! I will have to accept any downsides of the Crafty (fragility, battery, etc) because it is simply SO damn worth it. However, this is the start of a long relationship I hope with S&B, and thus will have to get the Mighty too!

WHY is it though, that some people have such stellar customer service with S&B (like above and beyond), and some people have the worst rock bottom experience? Is there any issue of consistency? Or expectation? Or just bad luck?

I fucking love (@lazylathe's) Crafty! :D:rockon:

I find the same thing, I think the mighty is actually a seriously underrated party vape because it's so easy to pack a big load and pass around.

Hi Crafty owners! I quit smoking 2011. My first vape this time was the Extreme q. On the go I used the vapman. 2012 I bought the solo, which was then my favourite portable Vape. 2013 a Volcano came to my vape family and kicked the extreme q's Ass! I tried many other vaporizers from friends.
But since December I only use one vape: THE CRAFTY!!! I have got my second unit. First one was Serial number 52.. and had high temperature issues from the 70th hour on. My second unit is serial number 10... and today I am going to get 77 hours on it. I love this vape and it produces the in my opinion the best vapor ever! :brow:
