Hey all! This is my last day with my Crafty... It will be in good hands with a friend who will be able to afford changing batteries every few months and shipping to Germany. It was the best vape ride ever and I will still have some sessions from time to time. I wish you all the best as I am leaving for greener, more sustainable and more economic pastures (vapes)... :)
So what vape are u going to be using?

HUH? Since when is it shipped to germany? They have you ship it to oakland... May I ask why you say this because I find their CS amazing. How often would you say their batteries die? Mine just died at 22 hours and they sent me a new one in one day. Thats excellent customer service compared to ploom for my girlfriends pax who has been waiting for a week for a response to an email about getting it fixed. I love S & B! How much do they charge for a battery replacement outside of warranty anyway?

Awesome! I'm finding really good use out of the little plug in the filling aid. It's like my old cone piece lol. My buds aren't the dryest, I've smashed them through a grinder then had to hand cut with scissors so it's hard to get anywhere near powder atm. Going to dry out a few and try some finer bowls.

CRAFTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

A good technique to quickly dry ure bud is to grind it and let it sit on a piece of paper for an hour or so. Then regrind. I find the standard S&B grinder can go really fine, which is great.

Mind you , grinding super fine is not for flavour chaser, just super thick hits. It's all about preference at the end of the day.

That's a bit of a blanket statement don't you think ??

I'm sure there are many crafty users, myself included, that have had them for over a few months without issues.

Regardless, enjoy the vapman. It's a great vape. It's probably even more frugal with herb than the crafty.

Yea but grinding it down so fine with the s and b grinder makes so much of the flowers leak into the cooling unit even only after one or two sessions compared to perfectly shredded flowers with the Santa cruz shredder it's like night and day difference. But every once and a while it's nice to put some super ground material in for ginormous clouds!

There are always trade-off's I guess. I grind to the same fineness when using my Cano as well. Using the fine screens, makes it much better and with the crafty I usually do half bowls with the liquid pad on top and this keeps the CU nice and clean.

@Vapologist made a great video taking the Crafty apart. I didn't see it here yet, apologize if its already been posted:

now that I saw how simple the inside is ,I am even more confident we will see aftermarket parts and upgrades very soon.

the only concern would be warranty though!

I usually don't weigh, but I did a few times. In my usage, I'm at .05 half bowl, and .2 full bowl. I grind my herbs to powder, I find it gives me the thickest and longest lasting bowls. When my herbs are not ground as fine, I always get less out of the bowl.

It's all about surface area for max vaporization.

Are you using the fine screen or regular when grinding your herbs to powder? It requires so much cleaning with the regular screen and fine grind herbs but the clouds are insane!

Do you mean blank statement? Well, sorry but this is the feeling I have. After 50 hours it needs 2.30 mins to get up to temp, so for me this is already too long and needs a battery change. If the battery is half empty the time goes up even more. Sorry but I can't do this. Even if the Crfaty is the most perfect vaporizer ever gone through my hands, the battery situation is a no-no for me. Be well!

I meant blanket, maybe it's my terminology. I was trying to say you're statement cast a net on all crafty users, or something along that line. Anyways that's not important anymore.

How many times have you changed the battery and how much did it cost? I'm just curious to see why your so put off by it. Because the new crafty they just sent me is even better now. It heats up much faster, feels heavier probably because of a bigger battery because the battery even lasts longer now and the best part is that it doesn't flex anymore when it's hot and your taking off or putting on the cooling unit. I got unit 11,063 so they're really pumping these vapes out the door.

On a side note either Im buggin or did they add an extra bar to the battery symbol in the app too? Can anyone else with a newer unit confirm this? This thing feels much heavier it definitely has a bigger battery so maybe they did that

This worked really well. Think I'll get some glass before I go full powder, def enjoying the finer grind though

No replacing of battery so far, only one replacement of the whole unit. If they wouldn't replace it for being busted though (red-orange flashing), I would certainly sent it in for battery replacement since it took over two and a half minutes to reach temp. As I would the second one. The second one was definitely better in the sense that it didn't overheat so much and it didn't disconnect from the BT but battery sure started going down there as well. When it started showing that the capacity is dropping so fast, it was clear to me that the battery was going to be a problem in the future. I just acted ahead…

Lol your making it seem like you already had to pay. You dot even know even after warranty when the battery dies how they will treat you. They might still replace it depending on the circumstances but regardless will Always be a fair price they have the best customer service ever. What company sends you out a new one the next day? My girl can't even get a reply from ploom about her pax

3400 mah vs 2900 mah, MAH is the battery's energy capacity. So a 20% difference.

Your saying they made the battery 20% bigger with the newer crafty?

@DMPesso, that sounds great, how long does it take to default temp?

Honestly to default temp prob a minute and 30 seconds most. It take under 2 minutes and I have my default set to 380, definitely a noticeable difference from the first crafty I had! That's quick enough for me!

I exclusively use the fine screens. Also 80% of my sessions are half bowls with the liquid pad. This keeps the CU very clean. I do an ISO rinse every 10 days or so.

Glad it helped! Happy crafting!

No, the Crafty has a 2700 MAH and the best on the market for a 18650 size battery is a 3400 MAH Panasonic. So a 25% difference between the two. Not really worth scrapping a warranty to swap out yourself, but after 2 years id say give it a try if you have soldering skills.

I made a little oil from the cooling chamber

So now what, i just put it on top of the liquid pad (205 Cº) and the magic happens? never vaporizer (or smoke) oil before

The crafty is this good for oil too?

Thanks!

I tried the oil pad for oil from the CU but I got the best results with cotton. After 3-4 bowls, while the CU is hot, open it up and clean as much as you can with a q-tip. Remove the cotton tip, make it a little fluffy with your fingers and into that oven! There is your bonus session and a cloudy one indeed!!! I usually vape it at max temp. :)
