One tip I have to keep from cracking your case is to press down firmly on the cooling unit towards the o ring as your rotating it into place. The more you compress the o ring the less force the case has to endure.
hi, I would like to know how S and B is dealing with these? "battery/charge" issues and the cracking of the docking area on your crafty. Has anyone contacted them?
I'm guessing S&B won't do much for you since you already used it. I'm thinking you are going to need to sell/repurchase or trade to get what you want but let us know otherwise.Hey guys, I'm new to this thread, but not new to vaping. I've learned a lot about the Crafty reading this thread, so thanks to all of you for that. I do have a question for you though.
I've had my Crafty about a week now, and I love it, except for the miserable battery life. Do any of you know if I can return my slightly used Crafty to Storz-Bickel for an upgrade to the Mighty? I've had it for seven days now. Of course I'd pay the extra $60. I purchased it at a local retailer. I emailed storz-bickell last Monday about this, and they still have not replied to me. I wrote to info@storz-Bickel and america@storz-bickel.
I'm still waiting for an email reply from S & B after 7 days. I thought Storz-Bickel was all about customer service.
Thank you for any advice.
Website says "All sales final". Of course S&B are the only ones who can say no but that is the answer I would expect.Do any of you know if I can return my slightly used Crafty to Storz-Bickel for an upgrade to the Mighty?

At least you can plug the Crafty into a micro-usb power bank. Maybe consider purchasing one of those and keeping it plugged in when not in use??
Thanks for the quick reply. I agree, I don't think that Storz-Bickel will do anything, but I thought I would ask anyway since it is so new.
Questions about charging the Crafty.
How long after use is the battery cool enough to charge?
If we shouldn't charge a warm battery, why does Storz-Bickel say it's ok to use the Crafty while charging?
Doesn't seem right.

Any Li-Ion battery should not be used/charged/discharged at the same time for maximum battery life. From studying battery care, this is especially true in a high power drain device.
Some vaporizers even say it is dangerous to do this. I personally would not do it.
S & B says it is ok but they might be getting some battery replacement business from this. $50 for Crafty battery replacement.

Until its completely charged.Do you know how long I need to charge the crafty before first use? Is there a recommended time? My phantom premiere v2 needed a 6 hr. Charge but I don't see anything on the the crafty manual.
Just charge it til its finnished, load and toke. The Lithium packs are supplied to S&B fully tested and cycled.Do you know how long I need to charge the crafty before first use? It will not charge if the battery is to warm, it usually takes around 3-5 mins for the unit to 'cool' down then it will let the charging begin again. It only charges the crafty when the unit is not powering the heat. unforuately it can only pump about 10w into the battery so it can never keep up. Even with a 25W 5V PSU from a flat crafty it only takes around 1.7- 2A. Remember these cells are designed for abuse.. they were designed to gointo laptop packs. fast charge, hugh drain and next to no ventilation/heatsink.
Since you say the Crafty will not charge if the battery is too warm, then can I plug it in to the charger immediately after using it, and then when it cools down enough, it will start charging automatically?
What is up with Storz-Bickel customer service? I emailed them several times over a week ago, and I still have not gotten a response, in 8 days. So I tried to call them today, And no one was available to answer the phone. You aren't even given the option to wait on hold. I called them at 1:30 PM their time. I certainly don't call this good customer service. For all intents and purposes, they are on reachable!
Yes just plug it in right after use and it will charge when its cooled enough to begin charge.
I've never tried to contact them.. but it looks like ill struggle anyway.
i do that if i want to knock myself out before bed. i get massive clouds from the first draw itself vs the 2nd or 3rd if I start at 180c sayWhat are you folks thinking about all puffs at max or close to max? I wasnt as happy with it as it seemed to reduce the number of draws by three fold!
