So flowers on bottom, some concentrates on top and no liquid pad is your suggestion for concentrates. I like it but does any leak into the heater?
You know, this worked extremely well with a dryer concentrate. I tried it with more of a full melt bubble, and it was almost as if the layer of herb blocked the flow of heat a little too much for my liking.
I would not recommend putting anything really gooey/sticky/melty near the bottom screen. That's why I laid the herb bed, to catch the drippings, and it worked to mixed result. I think if you have something gooey/sticky/full melt go for the liquid pad.

The liquid pad is all one circuit, so to speak. The oil pad is made up of one long wire that's been compacted into that sponge. When that starts getting hot, it's like one big filament, when the drippings start dripping, they fall onto another part of the wire that's still super hot below: instant vaporization.
Turn your Crafty up to maximum power, let the heater pre-heat the oil pad. Place material onto the pad, if it starts melting before your eyes, put your top on and start sippin.
Ideally there would be a way where the oil pad would be getting max heat; if you could put a layer of herb
on top of the pad; I think the temperature wouldn't be as hot as the dial is suggesting; because the wire-pad is absorbing a lot of the heat. The amount of heat loss isn't enough to
not cook your herb. Gotta give this a try.... could be heavenly. There would need to be another screen in there somehow; no herb tangled up in the liquid pad for me, that's just wrong.

I got a better result this morning using the Storz Grinder. I've been using the SCS, but I figured that they include the acrylic grinder for a reason; it was probably designed for their products. Anyone that vapes knows this orange acrylic grinder is competent, it produces a finer grind than your average metallic grinder.
Lastly, don't rely on the auto shut-off, power her down (manually) ASAP, that one minute will cost you at some point.
