I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too
Although my Samsung charger charges my Crafty, my Crafty charger will not charge my Samsung.

So there IS something different about the USB lead supplied with the Crafty.

Anyone know what exactly?????

Also for those who flip there orange pokey tool around you should be careful not to snag it.

I have nearly lost the thing 3 times because of this and no longer keep it flipped in my Crafty.

just ordered my crafty!! it should be here tomorrow. Im thinking this will retire my much loved volcano classic.

*high fives* all around!!

As much as I adore my Crafty.

My Volcano digit ain't going anywhere just yet.

:)

Mainly because it's just too good at vaping ABV.

No other vape gets me more out of my ABV weed.

It does charge with mine, an S4

I have 2 S3's. No, I'm not a dealer btw. ;)

Neither of them will charge with my supplied Crafty plug and usb cord. My missus has an S5, I will try hers when she gets in.

I wonder whats going on here?

I have an email from s&b saying to only use the supplied usb cable for charging. We discussed it here on the forum and the consensus was if the colours light up correctly when plugged in then all is good.

I'm not so sure this is the case now.

edit.

Just twigged your avatar photo. Nice one.

I don't have a crafty, but my S3 has this issue, it is finicky about what charging cables it likes to receive juice from but my S3 cable can charge lots of other devices fine, it is something about the Samsung phone and not the crafty design, IMO.

Almost there...
Almost finished reading the entire thread again!
Had my Crafty for going on 3 days now and really enjoy it.
I do have some questions and a trick for some!

I will write up a full review when testing is done!

I have noticed that i get very robust flavour, large clouds and very evenly baked ABV.
Battery life on my unit seems to be pretty good! I can get about 5 bowls out and still have two bars of battery left.

Now my issue is this:
I am finding that the Crafty does not medicate me as effectively as some of my other vapes.
Anyone else finding this?
@MinnBobber suggested it may be the cooling unit trapping a lot of actives and i tend to agree.

I was thinking of buying a second cooling unit and modifying it to be a permanent GonG solution.
Then i did some fooling around and discovered that a Flexicone from the MiniVap seals perfectly around the Crafty bowl.
So i tried to use the crafty like my MiniVap.
Flexicone in an adapter in my WT and the Crafty minus the cooling unit, resting on the flexicone.
Better flavour and better effects for me.
This allows for almost pure convection vaping as you remove the heat source from the material and cool the basket down in the last bit f the inhale!
I think the Mighty would excel in this way!

Thanks to @oli for getting my brain in action!!!

@Smknbud You should give this a try and see what results you get!

Hi Very high
@DMPesso I only ever used to smoke Mary Jane never tobacco so its not so much health reasons or how it medicates me. Mostly financial to be honest, I got to a stage where I was smoking one gram joints and then having 3 or 4 a day easy.

Granted this may not seem like much to some folks but I sadly cant grow my own medicine and around my hood this shit costs £10 a gram!!! Also I had neighbors complaining about the green smoke signals/odor. I have to say I can get higher easily with a packed bowl on the crafty than I did with a 1 gram joint. Crafty is so much cleaner and less smelling than joints.

So switching to vapes was the logical decision and Crafty is my current daily driver go to! I use no more than a gram a day now with Crafty! Hoping to be able to grow again once we move digs. ahhhh :leaf:

Me wanna see some pics, pretty interesting stuff!

Although, doesn't water steal a lot of vapor as well? At least it did for me back in the days when I used water tools… That's why I am only vaping dry now, better taste, more potent hits. But yes, the cooling unit in order to cool effectively has to create some condensed vapor which sticks in there.

But then again, reclaiming is so easy… Cleaned the CU after only a few bowls the other day and got enough oil for 5 or so sessions with cotton (I got my oil pad just today unfortunately…)! Amazing clouds!!! Bearable taste. So nothing is lost actually… I just love my Crafty!

There was a study done with smoked vs vaped where the THC was slightly higher with vapor than combustion. They used a volcano as the vaporizer. There may have been one other study if I recall confirming that vaped cannabis was obviously healthier and has as much if not higher amounts of THC in the blood.

I'm of the opinion that smoking/combusting gives the illusion you're higher because of all the noxious carbon monoxide not higher thc.

Makes sense. Sort of like how a slow cooker extracts more flavor then just cooking food quickly.

Is this really true? That just turned me off BIG time. I was under the impression that the crafty gets you MORE medicated then any other vape. Now are you saying that you feel LESS medicated because of the cooling chambers absorbing some of the THC? I mean can this actually be true? Can anyone else attest to this? I was under the impression the crafty was gonna get me higher then anything including the solo and pax which I gave up on because i just wasn't getting clouds and WASNT getting medicated like when I combusted. The solo gave me a nice buzz when I was out but was a such a pain with the stem I gave up on it. Does anyone really agree with that ^^?

For the record the crafty gets me higher than any portable on the market. @DMPesso you have very little to worry about. The only issue with the crafty realistically is its short battery life and lack of device compatibility.

Have you guys vaped any other herbs before?

Would that permanently taint the chamber's taste?

Do you think an ISO top-to-bottom cleaning would bring you back to square one/zero taste?

I'm not even going to try it until I have word that someone's done it successfully.

Here's what I've tried:

Lavender
Rosemary
Peppermint
Spearmint
Coffee
Tea

Every one of them tasted like shit!

It didn't ruin the chamber, they ruined my mood. In theory it sounds wonderful but in practice...I no longer practice vaping any herbs beyond the Sweet Leaf. "Alright now, won't you listen"

That has absolutely NOT been my experience. The Crafty is extremely effective, there's no need to worry about it getting you lifted.

Trust me the Crafty will get you where you want to be!
There will always be a minority that has some negatives but the majority is very positive towards this vape!
I love it, just have to figure out where it will best suit my needs.
It is a quality unit with almost zero learning curve!
I don't regret my purchase!

Pics as requested!
Going to try it soon with just the silicone contraption and a boro glass stem!
Should be ultimate flavour!!

If you're using more bud to get to the same high that you were at before, than if anything, by most standards, it's less efficient.

A vaporizer that requires less bud to get you to where you want to be is considered to be.........more efficient, eh?

Ok so I got android x86 r1 running in virtualbox on my surface, I have got the bluetooth adapter shared as a usb device. However when I turn bluetooth on in android it simply goes back to off after a moment.

@JCat any idea what I am doing wrong here? Is there something I need to do to get my bluetooth adapter working still?
Did you follow the document with the detailed instructions I posted way back in the thread?

Are you sure you shared your BT adapter correctly? Is it a BT 4.0 LE compatible adapter?

I did, I have tried on two different PC's (both running Windows 8.1 Professional with virtualbox configured as you described) but the bluetooth adapter is also the wifi and I cannot get either to work under android 4.4 r1 in virtualbox. I think it may be a driver thing, these are both 6 month old 4th gen i5/i7 machines.

I'm running a Dell XPS12 which is a couple years old ... it has an Intel Centrino Bluetooth 4.0 adapter in it ... maybe you just need to purchase a cheap USB BT 4.0 LE dongle ...

I'm tossing up between that and perhaps buying a cheap android handset (any suggestions??) to use for this sole purpose lol

Nexus 7 2013 version (NOT the 2012 version!!!!).

Nice tablet and really solid all around media device. Works great with the crafty as long as you keep the OS on 4.4.4 and don't upgrade to 5.0

S&B STILL hasn't updated the app...

I'm not using more bud to get the same high, my point is that the crafty will spend the bowl very quickly because it's so efficient, but because it's so good and i'm used to dedicating more than 5 minutes to a sesh, I end up going through more. Also because I think you can fit a lot more into its bowl than other portables i've used in the past. Hope this makes sense now :p
