Arizer Solo

Bummer. Another way to deal with this is to get an adapter like this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005CMP434/ref=oh_details_o08_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They're common in the closed circuit TV trade, Radio Shack may well carry them too. With it you can cut the cord off a dead charger, strip the ends back and screw this connector on. You can then use the very common 12 VDC connector size (2.1 X 5.5mm) which you probably have on a battery charger or something similar all ready? You need an Amp or more, a common size. Lots of 'car cords' will then work as well.

This gets around the 'funny small size connector' thing.

you sir are the man... as usual. beer on me?

I just ran into a problem with my Solo after about a week. I plug it in to charge, and I get lights 1-3 blinking and a continuous beep. I tried doing a reset via an older post I found. I held down the buttons for 4 seconds after plugging it into the charger and then waited 10 seconds before unplugging. It didn't seem to do anything. Also, the light on my charger is red as it usually is. I emailed Arizer support, but I wanted to see if anyone here had some advice on getting it working.

yeah this problem seems to be popping up a lot lately. nothing you can do except get a new charger from my experience.

did the older Solo's have this issue? mine is a M1A3...

Yay!! My Solo is not dead!!! Just the charger which is sad cause it's only a few months old....

I ended up going to Radio Shack I got an enercell 3-12v 1a ac to dc power adapter (cant find a link to the exact one). they had a bunch of different plug ends for it so I had to make sure it fit. Luckily I brought the solo with and tried a couple the ”type B” plug fit. They wouldnt let me try it in the store to see if it even worked but it was only $20. Works perfectly so far!!

Now to deal with getting a replacement for the dead one...

I wound up getting the same exact charger and the type B plug as well. It seems to be working so far. I don't know if I am imagining this, but it seems much slower than the standard charger. My model # starts with M1A4.

His name is poke so I think it should have read, if you POKE back even a little bit:rofl:

Welcome to the forum poke. Sorry you are joining us under bad circumstances. Do let us know your results please.

Would that be poking in fun?

What the Lady just said, my manners are slipping. Welcome to the fun. Watch out for some of these characters, I think the only ones you may be able to trust is you and me.

And I'm not sure about you.

I don't know if I am imagining this, but it seems much slower than the standard charger. My model # starts with M1A4.

Hard to say from here, can you hold it closer to the monitor? No luck, but tell me, what does the nameplate read around "output current"? Hopefully 12 VDC at some number of Amps?

TIA

Thanks for the welcome, man! The output voltage is adjustable. I am using 12v with 1 amp. So, I'm not sure why there would be a difference, but it is almost charged now anyways.

I love edibles and so I wanted to reclaim using vodka. I put my stem in one of the stem tubes from PV and filled it up with vodka. It has been like 5 days and it still is not dissolving the vape resin. I had success using iso but on the suggestion of others I tried vodka. I cant be the first to try this? It really did not work.

For anyone sitting on the fence regarding buying a solo.
Get a load of this.

I bought my solo 1st aug 2011 m103 unit. I loved it! it was the most awesome consumer product I had ever owned! It blew clouds that were amazing.

Within a few weeks of owning it, the ceramic flaking off the bowl issue came up. I contacted arizer and told them my unit was affected.

No problems said arizer 'we will send you a new one!' well bugger me they did just that.
Not just a new solo, a new charger and 2 new stems as well.

now I had 2 complete solos for my original $240. awesome !!!

After a few MONTHS of getting the bejesus flogged outta it my warranty replacement failed & stopped heating.

I contacted arizer, where they asked me to send it back with the charger to canada. No worries, happy to.

I still have my original solo working just fine, sure some ceramic shit flaked off the bowl. pfft, give it a clean & dont eat the gunk. vaping nirvana continued.

well bugger me again, they sent me a new solo & new charger back again! No tubes this time, but really who gives a damn? its a new vape!

So, I go back to huffing EDIT- a fair bit every day, for about 6mths, until I find another favourite daily driver. (one I could leave on all day)

Then they both sit there for ages, I dunno how long. but ages.
one always on charge and the other sitting. swapping them when I remember.
using them every so often. But rarely

Well recently I went to use my warranty replacement replacement, and it didnt heat.

OMG!!! what now???

I contact arizer again, we exchange a couple of emails. With them asking me to double check its not the charger or the power point etc. Did a reset, blah, blah, blah.

Still no cookie, cookie of herbie, herbie.

then I get an unsolicited email from australianvaporizers and they apologise for my defective solo.

WTF??

I read on......................

australianvaporizers is now the aussie warranty support for arizer and pls send us yr broken solo, charger and purchase a $20 return shipping credit.

Sure, no worries. more than happy to.

well guess what peeps??

Thats right, SOLO NO.4! a new M1A3 & charger just rocked up and kaboom that bad boy is charging while we speak. I got a new GonG stem for it the other week, and Ima gonna get shitfaced soonish.

So for anyone sitting on the fence. do ya self a favor.
get a solo.
Its a great product and if you are unlucky to have one or even several of them shit themselves.
for the sake of some shipping,(less than $30 in both cases.)

All I can say is WOW!

Arizer, mind= blown!

This next stem is for all those fine folk over the pond at Arizer.
I salute thee.

Not a high enough alcohol percentage. Iso is normally like 70% or 91% alcohol, some are even higher. If you look at the proof of the alcohol and divide that by 2 you will have its % alcohol. For example 80 proof vodka is 40% alcohol, not nearly as much alcohol as iso.

So, I go back to huffing 5-7grams a day (ima lucky man with alotta time on his hands),every day, for about 6mths, until I find another favourite daily driver. (one I could leave on all day)
(sounds like you might want to invest in a log vape - but that's getting off topic)

fubar,
Just used this for the first time. Wow. The flavor of the first hit honestly floored me. I've never tasted weed like that before, not with Da Buddha nor the MLFB, and obviously not via combustion. This vape blows the others away in the taste department. Fantastic.

I packed .05 g of finely ground herb into the stem with a screen. Started on level 5. Took 3 hits on 5, 2 on 6 and a few on 7. Was very impressed with how evenly it vaped the herb. I removed the stem to stir after 5 hits and my stuff was pretty toasty. I'm going to have another bowl in an hour, but start on level 2 this time. I want to experience the full range this device offers.

The build quality on this unit is great. It feels really nice in the hand. The only negative thing I see so far is the restricted draw. I'm not a fan of that, but maybe I'll get used to it.

Really great first impression.

i have heard good things about the solo and am planning on getting one and am wondering if the 130-140 ones on ebay are reputable i previously ordered a mflb and it was great

how to check the current model as i am seeing M1A3 and M1A4 but on ebay they just say M1A or M108?

is there even much of a difference i would rather get the older model if it functions the same for $130

i am practically orgasming over the amazing customer service reviews im seeing makes me feel fuzzy

I got mine on ebay from a seller that said m1a/m108 mine is a m1a4 and it works great. arizer changed the serial numbers after m107, there really isn't much difference between the 107, 1a3, 1a4 and there are even m1b models out there. I wouldn't get anything before an m106 though, the 105 runs a little cooler and earlier than that there was a ceramic coating on the crucible that had a tendency to chip off.
like ataxian said just buy it you won't regret it

sigh- it is unfortunate that the focus is on my consumption rates rather than the quality of the content posted.
original post has been edited.
how long did it take for them to get it back to you? I have a older one that I think may be flaking. also does the new solo stems stay in when you put upside down? cause my old one doesn't but my friends old one does with no o-ring.

hey guys, maybe someone remembers me asking a couple of questions about the planet vape stealth adapter.
have recieved mine yesterday and I'm very satisfied with it. It's exactly what I was looking for.
The vapor is a lot cooler (i like my vapor cool) than before and i don't have to hold the device in my hand all the time during vaping anymore. the vapor is still thick, of course.
you don't need this necessarily, but for me it's a pretty cool accessoir that does what i was wishing for. also you can hide it pretty well in your bag for example wenn your outdoor

the thin whip is 3ft long and I'm using my extreme q reserve mouthpiece

I just picked up a 18mm PHVEGonG from PlanetVape (finally!). I've really enjoyed my Solo since I bought it with and without water. It already hits really nice with just a PHVES Shorty, an 18/14 reducer and my bubbler so I'm hoping the PHVEGonG will make the experience even more enjoyable. Can't wait to test it out!

hello everyone... i just received in the mail my pinnacle water tool. i am posting here cause i don't own a pinnacle and i plan on using it with my solo. i have my 14mm GonG (thanks Toros23) so i am all set. i have tested a little and i am having some issues. first i am having issues filling it and trying to figure out the correct level. the first time i just filled it till nothing ran out the bottom. i get alot of gurgling with the tool and not so much bubbles. i have not been able to "Milk" the tube and get thick vapor. dont get me wrong... i am getting vapor and i am getting medicated... just looking in the mirror the tube never gets filled with thick vapor

now i know a number of you have the WT for your solo's. got any tips for me??

Menz try it without the gong. I use a regular stem with no issues. I know I read yesterday something about needing an adapter if it isn't ground glass but nobody explained why so I don't see an issue. It seems like the WT vapor can't be seen easily in a mirror but you would need the water people to answer that. I fill mine just above the slits and then a little more and it works just fine with bubbles. No water goes to the top unless I pull really hard which I don't.

Menzie, the volume is soooo tiny on that water tool that I don't think you'll ever be able to milk it.... just not enough volume to fill up with vapor before getting sucked into your lungs. The larger the volume of a piece, the better it will milk up.

I was thinking of getting that water tube, I have been looking for awhile to try and find one that isn't the pinnacle. I know the vaporblunt 2.0 has a water tube attachment with the dlx version but I can't seem to find a place that sells just the tube. If anyone knows of a place that sells one please let me know or if you have any other suggestions when it comes to a water tube for my solo :D
