I have a similar setup and get great results at 470F

The red light on the side of the unit illuminates during warmup mode. Once the warmup is completed the red light will turn green and it will automatically go into cruise mode. A single click of the fire button will switch off cruise mode allowing you to press and hold for on-demand.
