Good job on that video, thanks.

    USB-C obsession

I'll take that bet :) I'm pretty sure those cells are in series (so take the same current). Edit: I agree with you. I read electronics hobby sites and people are often asking about USB-C for projects where it makes no sense at all. I've heard people talk about buying a Mighty+ but not...

@LesPlenty , that's a good idea using the iSpire cups. I'll have to try that next.

    Vaporizer Purchase Question

When you say this do you mean specifically for most organic compounds? The term "normal boiling point" is specifically defined as the boiling point at 1 atm pressure, anything else is something other than normal boiling point. Is the "normal" part not standardly used in organic chemistry...

    Vaporizer Purchase Question

It's unusual for a physical property of a material to be quoted at something other than STP. "standard temperature and pressure". Do you mean it is unknown to everyone or just to those getting information from Wikipedia? Is there some reason it would be difficult to determine the value at STP...

DIY Induction Heater Builds and References

No I haven't, but I've followed the builds of other people who've done it. It seems to work fine. I think so long as you keep the frequency low, say <1 KHz, the mosfets shouldn't spend too much time in their linear range. The cap would need to be pretty big to have an impact but it might...

DIY Induction Heater Builds and References

Absolutely, that's what a buck is for. You can find high amperage DC motor controllers on EBay and Amazon that will do the job for $15-$20. You can also get a similar effect from using a PWM signal to a driver mosfet. The full buck is overkill for this scenario since the ZVS already has many...

    Dablamp E-Rig

Here is a poorly executed video of the Dablamp in action for anyone curious. As usual, me in the garage next to the mops and brooms. That's OK, I like it in there. That bit of wax was smaller than it appears, maybe 0.03 g, but was still too much for me to completely finish in one hit. I...

    Discontinued Ghost MV1

Yes, it is. I actually drilled one out, bought a special hole saw, built a jig to align it, yada yada yada. Then NorthBear showed how easy it is to pop the end caps off and I had to do a hardcore facepalm. Sometimes the simple solution is the right one and a pry bar is the right tool.

    Discontinued Ghost MV1

I'm running a couple of rebuilt batteries. I destroyed a couple of others in the interests of science. Check out the post from NorthBear on this page: https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/ghost-mv1.25299/page-234

    Discontinued Ghost MV1

How long has that spare battery been at zero charge? If it's been like that for a year or more it probably has very limited capacity now. It may not charge at all. Try charging but do it somewhere fire safe and where you can keep an eye on it. Risk is low but better safe than sorry. You...

I haven't lived there in a long time but my wife still teases me about my accent. "Out and about", how else would someone say it? :)

    Discontinued RBT Splinter (All Versions)

Do you absolutely need temperature control? Personally I think going with custom firmware and TCR settings over complicates the learning process and introduces a whole bunch more potential failure points. The Z works great in wattage mode and I would strongly encourage you to master that...

Dry herb portable Vapes which can get up to 240 degress/464 F.

Personally I don't find ABV color to be a very good indicator of extraction. Conduction vapes will leave it very dark. The SSV will fully extract a load, leaving virtually nothing in the ABV, but only take it to a medium\darkish tan. Turned up the SSV will scorch but the experience isn't...

    Dablamp E-Rig

I tried it again last night and it worked great. With the typical short grain rice sized bit of crumble I could barely hold the hit (and I have hot knife cough control learned in my youth). It wasn't particularly hot, just dense. It vaporized very clean with only a slight trace of oiliness...

    Dablamp E-Rig

That's the part in the manual that isn't very clear. It does seem to "just work" and what else matters? Are you experienced with other battery powered dab rigs? How does it compare?

    Dablamp E-Rig

Hi, I was the winner of the Dablamp giveaway last week and got to try it for the first time last night. First impression is of something well made to very tight tolerances. Top grade for their quality control. The base is made of metal, very solid and could be used as a home defense weapon...
