Discontinued The Grasshopper

I've owned my GH for just under 2 months now. Used daily, no issues so far, which is good :-).

I found that I prefer a nice fine grind personally.
Happier with my GR8TR vape than my Space Case...

I have 3 batteries and am far more comfortable using when out and about now as I can carry a backup.

Mainly starting at 3 , finish off at 4 / 4.5

Before work, walking the dog, out and about, quick hit or more at home, perfect.

I have used at 5 few times through glass.

Pleasure to use. Couldn't be more easy to keep clean.
Only used my Air a couple of times since I got my GH.

Keep in mind that people will much more often post with problems, but for those there are probably many many more out there who are not having issuesand don't post because they're off enjoying Grasshopper-inspired misadventures...

I was at GHL a few weeks ago hanging out with @BuzzDanklin (and then we hit the GIM and some Tacos) and from talking to Matt and Trevor, I'd say the failure rate is pretty low these days. They also have quite more staff now than before so hopefully wait times will come down.

@Welease Wadawick welcome to the FC community.
What we are hearing from is just FC members that have GHs. FC is just a small section of folks. We always think we at the center of the universe and we're not.

You are so right. People with problems with the hopper are going to post more than those that are blissfully vaporizing away.

I hadn't visited this thread in awhile and was hoping for more positive posts though. There could be more faulty units in the wild.

I'm hoping for some posts down the road of some grasshoppers that live to be 6 months old. A hassle to have to send a unit back and wait for it to be fixed.

I have one that's been going strong for about 8 months now!

words, words, words so far. all i'm seeing is a nice sale at Vapefiends while we all wait. no shipping confirmation reports in Hopper's Shipping Thread for a long time now.

well, their policy is gotten better though. can't add more Hoppers and receive those with an existing order anymore. that was just lunacy to treat your already over-waiting customers like that. radically unfair. all about money, money, money. i bet that if not problems from PayPal they would keep selling at Vapefiends and would be still allowing to add units for speculats to sale on eBay. they wouldn't feel bad at all about adding one more year for all pre-orderers to wait. saying- backers waited about two years, so let these wait as well.

This is my experience and use almost exactly! I do use my WT quite a bit at home, but not exclusively. I've had mine for about a month and a half.

I'd also like to add that quite a few people I know are seeing it pop up on their various social media outlets and asking me about mine, so I think there are quite a few that have been released recently.

Thanks CarolKing, happy to be here. I've only had mine a few weeks so probably won't add much in terms of reassurance, but so far it's been great (just knocked on wood!!!).

Believe me, I have been! This thing is perfect stealth for New York City, I can pull in ten seconds and release in a crowd of NYPD and be gone by the time they start looking around...

My greatest feat of stealth was to take a few big wax hits in the Mormon Tabernacle while half full at the Mothership in Salt Lake City. One of my proudest moments of life !

just checked my order and it pushed back again until June now instead of may....:(

Having the FF2 in hand now makes me think i should just cancel and let them sort out all production problems and other quirks before I spend 200+ to beta test

Well alot of customers asked that they over estimate, and they did, so it might come sooner

Does anybody know the exact temps for setting 2, 3, and 4

Thanks Gandalf, so it looks like 2.5 will be my sweet spot, since Thc evaporates at around 314 F

That lists has me questioning why my Ti GH is able to produce so much vapor on the first setting. Now, I'm not complaining since I use my Ti and not my SS anymore. However, If I were to set my Mighty at that temperature I don't think I would get vapor.

Hmm thats interesting

Hmm thats interesting
Ive never set my digital vaporizer to 266, so im not sure how much vapor it would produce

I did some testing with a digital thermometer and the max temp can actually reach around 230C.

I already knew the Hopper scale was incorrect based on how dark I could get my abv; but now with the thermometer I can see its definitely not a good guide if you're a serious medical user (at least not without a thermometer for proper scaling).

Well according to most reviews, and post ive seen, people say settings 2 and 3 is when they start to see clouds
Yeah I mentioned a while back that my Ti produces vapor at the first setting and my SS doesnt until 2 or 2.5. I guess the Ti is calibrated differently. I don't mind it at all and I prefer to get vapor at the first setting though.

@paytonpenn Thanks for your feedback. It looks like my assumptions may be correct and @YaFreekin Right also brought up the fact they may be calibrated differently.

Guess I'll have to test all three of my Hoppers at some point more extensively. But I agree, they all perform different in my opinion (but all of mine are Color Ti).

Wow, even more interesting now that you mention they are all Ti. I have another Ti on the way, hopefully sometime soon, and I don't know if they will perform the same and which one will become my favorite. Right now though I'm loving the Ti as I've mentioned before lol. However, I love how the SS feels in my hand, it's so smooth and slides around my hand so easily lol. Btw, I just used my GH....:smug::bigleaf:

Just curious, but are you sure it's not charging through the USB? Mine only blinks red about once every minute while it's charging. When it's fully charged it blinks blue once per minute. It may not be exactly once per minute(haven't actually timed it, but it's close.)

It could also be the USB port you are plugged into.

Haha, thanks for the tips, left it in for 4 hours just in case the lights had issues. It's the same block I use for my cellphone, used it since I got it with no issues.

That is interesting, and it makes some sense. Overall though, I doubt you will find a vaporiser where this isn't the case, although I imagine the temp range could be smaller. I find the GH seems to be accurate enough and responds well to small changes on the dial, so while it may not be 100% accurate to a particular temperature, there is still ample control fidelity over the vapour production.

Some users will prefer the slower vapour production of a device like the mighty, where as others like myself much prefer the faster onset, faster extraction the hopper offers. I'm a high temp vapour consumer though, so being able to stretch the temp beyond 210 is great for my use - ripping the phattest vape clouds.

I haven't used a Mighty / Crafty but I get the sense that the GH is more of a "manual" type of vaporizer whereas those models are "automatic". Draw speed, size of the bowl pack, grind, etc all make a huge difference in the actual temps you get with the GH.

For instance, if I just load a tiny pinch into my GH, I have to inhale a lot more slowly than I would if I had a larger pack in there where the draw would become naturally more restricted from the increased amount of material in the chamber. Otherwise, I only get tiny wisps of vapor.

Like you, I can also get clouds on the lowest setting if I inhale very slowly.

Btw, I got my Ti back from Hopper Labs and so far so good! My backend seems to attach to the body properly now without having to force it so there's no gap. The ticking sound when the Hopper is on is significantly louder with this one though. Hoping that's normal and not a sign of impending doom haha.

Is the back end still hot? Ive been Using my hopper for 2 months now. other than the back End getting pretty damn hot Its preforming perfectly. But if the newer backends arent hot anymore ill send it in for warranty..

Your comparison makes me think that the difference you speak of in auto and manual is that the Mi/Cr are more conduction oriented with a long heat up time resulting in more radiation.

For someone who's still waiting for their 1st GH , it's
disheartening to see you have shelved 3 GH in your
inactive list .
I was playing with them earlier, I only have concentrates and they are not the best units I have for that right now. While they can get to 230C+ they definitely don't like staying that hot or and on max temp will resonate around 200-230C but have dropped lower at times.

Its amazing watching this thermometer rise as I inhale; all my other units I see start high in temp and gradually decrease, this rises to temp in about 4 seconds from when you start drawing and just stays with range.
