Im trying the DC Elev8r through grav 18mm octabowl and GooRoo 3 piece. Tastes good but the single air inlet and tight draw exhausts my lungs. I’d been on boro beaded/regular DBV whip through water for 15 years, so slow and steady was the way to draw. This seems to require a very different technique.

Do you have balls in the DC Elev8r? I've seen people say they prefer to use it without balls for this reason. Haven't compared, myself.

You nailed it with, "This seems to require a very different technique." You could try removing some of the balls (maybe 1/2 - 1/4) and see if that helps.

around 0.2gr I think, very clean vapor! **this desk lamp died, a bit after this session.... as it can be seen, it barely holds up without teflon tape....

I needed to take out 1/3 of the rubies and the screen that vGoodiez installs in the air inlet for the DC-elev8 to make the draw resistance manageable.
To find my sweet spot for draw resistance, I kept approx 25 3mm rubies and took off the air inlet screen. May have defeated the purpose of the rubies this way, but it’s more comfortable for me. Thx for the suggestion.

Still loving it. Been finding every excuse not to use my Vapcap lol. Tried a few surprisingly decent buds from dispensaries and it's just an excellent vape. Silky smooth clouds. So far I've been preferring to start on 15 second heatings with a culinary torch so the first hit is pure flavor, and the third one is a big ol' rip. Maybe another couple hits on 15-17, then 20-25 to finish it off

I may have to mess with my screen too. I played with the coil for awhile yesterday and tightened it down a bit, got more contact with the quartz, and it's a new vape. It works so much better and at lower temps than I've been able to use it at before. But with that solved, I kinda got hung up on how tight the draw is. Gonna have to work on that I guess. Any idea on another good way to block the hole without dismantling the whole thing? I'd like to keep it ball-filled. @invertedisdead's method of using a bigger ball would be great if you could get one in there.

Does anyone happen to know if there are any wooden bowls that will work with the Elev8r?
Mine appears to fit the newer SBL/HotRod bowls and Ed's tigerwood multibowl well enough. I have not actually tried either in use, so ymmv.

Still a classic!

Lent me coil version to a mate last week on a try it buy it basis. He handed it back after a few days. Too much. I was really happy tbh as I love this little vape.
And this week I've been playing with my torch version.
Fuck me, it's easy to forget just how tasty this thing is when you heat it just right. I reckon my tastiest vape (b1, zirc zeal, vapvana, terpscicle and e elev8r, are in rotation as my bigger hitters).

I load up maybe 0.15 to 0.2 g and can bosh that down in a single hit..... The e version takes longer to fill and whilst great, doesn't have quite the depth of taste and I can get 3 hits off a similar amount. I run mine at 515f.

If you have a decent torch I think it's worth a punt on the standard version.

I was reading online about powerful vapes and came across this and can get one for very cheap here in uk

The full kit for $225 but I think I would need beads for it as was reading that. Oh they come with it, cool.

Th elev8r rocks. It's the OG off-the-shelf baller and it still holds up well, if you've got the coil fitting properly. I don't think mine would keep up with some of my heavier heaters but it will crank out flavorful clouds. In the spectrum of ballvapes, it's a solid flavor vape and will get you right with a heady convection high. The bowl's big and you can sip it over an extended session, or you can turn up a bit and crush 'em. I would say if you really want a crusher you might look around a bit, some of the newer ball vapes are in that price range and would probably be more powerful. If you get the elev8r understanding where it's at you will not be unhappy and will probably love it. Mine is my OG and still in my lineup!

What would you say would be better than this for around £200/$250 am from UK so would buy from around here so if you can list a few would be good :)
