The glowing coil I think is fairly common with e-elev8rs, I think it's from sections being in poor contact, unable to dump heat into the glass. I'm not sure if shimming with mesh will alleviate that, but it might. So would getting a better fit, but that's tricky. @Rodney, you've mentioned getting another from @VGOODIEZ; that should be better fit by more practiced hands. Hopefully between the better fit and gear you will not see much glowing at all. Nevertheless, if you can get a better fit on this one you should mitigate the glowing and increase the efficiency. You'd have a reliable backup.
I think you are correct, but I don’t have enough experience to answer with confidence. I bought mine secondhand, and the top coil is secured by a separate thin wire that makes a better connection with the glass. When mine heats up, it will glow but once it settles in at 450, there is no redness.

It’s pretty awesome. :)

By the way, for anyone that is in the market, there is one in the classifieds with a NV pid for $50, and I want to buy it just because it’s a great deal.

I hate to say this but I am having much more fun with less herb with this than my/our beloved Tinymight2.

As standard I was not that impressed with this and had a love hate feeling for it but after securing the coil with a few gauze and putting enought balls in it works much much better especially with small loads.

I've been having an issue with my DC Elev8r. On the PID, it says "EEEE" - sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes more. Then it will go back to the temp, then repeat. It seems like if I move the cord around or turn the vape upside down and move it some, it will do it less. Anyone know what this means? I did some searching, but didn't find much concrete info.

It probably means the cable is worn out or there's a bad connection
Most likely one of the five thin wires inside the sheathing has developed a crack inside from the fatigue of being used (moving the cable) and is opening and closing the crack as you move the cable around.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. It does it when it's just sitting there though. So more than likely, the coil + cord is just bad and I'd have to fit a new one on the Elev8r? GRRRRR.... :\:disgust:
