Sorry to hear your device is DOA. Mine also arrived today and is working, thank goodness. I am going to spend some time getting to know it before I give it the full review, but it is sure gorgeous out of the box. Just impeccable fit and finish. I love how everything is friction fit. It feel great in the hand.

Same! Mine came the other day. Really beautiful finish and craftsmanship. As far as performance, I'm having a a tiny bit of trouble getting hits I like but will keep at it for another week before making any decisions. Did I mention how well built this thing is?

Edit: getting some nice hits at 7/8 with glass wpa. Little fear of combustion on 8 but not so much. Finding the refractory period is 5-10 minutes for me

looks like my unit is D.O.A.

Directly plugged into a tested/functional outlet for 20 minutes on heat level 5, and the metal stem is cool to the touch. 15 minutes after bumping it up to heat setting 7, and no difference. Cranked it up to max heat, waited 10 min, still completely cool to the touch.

I’m sure Chris will take care of it, but the time consumption and a hassle (shipping items back/forth, etc) is a huge turn off, for a brand new handmade, high end device. My three other 15+ year old log vapes have never skipped a beat….

Working on it. The log should work, i test all my units. As seen in the perfectly taken pictures it got a color change on the tip from testing. I don't think it got damaged from shipping.
Should be a cable/power source problem.
No panic, we will avoid sending out untested cables/power sources from now.

Big sorry for the inconveniences We will pack you some goodies with your missing part.

Edit: he was able to test the unit with another power source and its getting hot. We will send out a new power source and connection cable asap!

Considering the price differences to other log vapes, i wouldnt be surprised If that is the limiting factor of success for this product.
Its a hotrod meets a log. The longing is there but the hefty price doesnt sit right with me.

We will bring back the budget version with a plastic controller. Price will be under 300€. But were very busy atm.

got my couchlog yesterday... shipping was fast (was also worried when I read in this thread about the shipping stories of others, and my tracking number did not work)... couchlog is stunning beautiful and also real nice form factor.. it is smaller then I thought (smaller in diameter and hight)...

For how it is performing I need more time...
I am into microdoses and clouds... can someone recommend me a good temp... the first mark is zero on the controller?
BTW for microdoses it would be nice when you could adjust screen so your herbs are nearer to heater or a herbchamber with smaller diameter and depth of screen... also glass adapter looks like you need to much herb to cover the screen... but I have to test...

and maybe in future a nice bag (maybe like tinymight vaporizer) where you can put your couchlog and adapter to carry to a friends house (my e-nano was almost to big to carry arround... but i think the couchlog could easily fit in my pockets) or so would be a nice special... not must have...

I'm also into smaller bowls and clouds. I run at level 7 through water and level 6 (sometimes a bit lower) dry with multiple cooling pads installed. Through water, I've just been dropping the bowl piece directly into a 14mm joint, but I'll probably cave and order the new glass bowl once it's available in 14mm.

Some people were talking about wood taste earlier. I definitely feel the wood stem significantly influences the flavor. But I've always noticed the taste of wood with vapes that use wood stems/airpaths. I would definitely prefer a glass stem, but not sure it would be as enjoyable as the stock stem with pads installed. The pads give a nice amount of restriction and cool the vapor down just enough to tolerate big dry hits. I'm not sure that a dimpled glass stem would have enough restriction/cooling for me. I had purchased a 9" cooling J-hook from OGB and ended up selling it because it didn't cool better than the stock stem with pads and I just didn't love the airflow I got with it. I'm also not a huge fan of the interface of using a J-hook vs. a direct draw stem. This is all just my personal preference though.

I only see the 18mm bowl. I’m referring to the size of the male joint that fits into the water piece. My bubbler has a 14mm female joint so I want a bowl that can fit without having to use a 14/18 step up adapter. Are you planning to make that?

Received my unit last night and was able to use it for a 5hr test period today.

The function is impeccable.

I kept getting charring when using the stem, but I believe that is an isolated issue as I must just pull it too hard. I used an RBT wpa from Herb Cafe as an injector bowl to add some space between the heater and the herb. It seriously rocks.

You can really go through some serious amount of material in quick succession.

The magnets at first were the bottom of the list in terms of features for a vape I was looking for...but I understand now. With leaving the unit on and having that extra bit if assurance of some stability really is fantastic.

Overall very happy with the unit, and can see it claiming a regular spot in the rotation.

I was surprised at how little I used! Which is not meant to contradict your point, just that both are true.

Made me bust out my 40-yr-old rolling tray (a cheap, 'antique' steel serving tray from Kmart) so I have a moveable stand for them with room for a mat, water piece and tools. It's tacky, but functional and nostalgic.

On the magnets, I pin my temp controller on the side of my freezer im vaping on. or use the adhesive pad to fix the temp controller under your table. You can even put the log on a wall and just take hits from the wall. but dont let it
unattended this way.

After about 30 minutes, a thick sticky black substance started sweating from the stem. I got the olive/grenadill wood with the grenadill stem. Is that just sap from this kind of wood? I don’t think it was designed to have sitting on, with the stem affixed. You might have permanently damaged it. In fact - I don’t believe any log vape is designed to have the stem constantly affixed. You might be able to get away with it, if you had an all glass or metal stem - but plastic, wood, etc - it’s just supposed to be affixed when you take the hit.

Mine also has a strong smell - but I haven’t been able to use it, due to a bad power supply, so I can’t comment on the flavor or function - but from what I have gleaned in private message conversations with other owners - there is a pretty strong wood like flavor when using the stems… I think that’s just the nature of the beast. I’m also guessing that’s why it seems as though a good (potential majority) of owners are using it through glass, and often without the wood stem.

I assume the wood is just sweating resin. I would remove the resin (ask others with what as I don't know) & then I'd butter it up real well with a thick melted beeswax & possibly mineral oil mix. Just my .

My device has a slight wood smell but nothing out of the ordinary for my wood vapes. The stem does add some flavor but it is not unpleasant. I expect it to subside over time like my other wood stems.

I typically don't like strong smells and flavors with my devices but this is not anything that bothers me. I have stopped using vapes that were overly woody in the past.

Exactly my findings too. Had more time to dial in. It’s just as good as other favorites and has found it’s way to budge into my line up. I love the small footprint of this log. I’m using the metal herb bowl in a 14mm to 18mm glass adapter as you all have mentioned. This way using it without the wood stem is giving me the taste I like. I’m using it on my herborizer sherlock with just enough clearance barely with the wood shell on.

A few things that bug me on my device…the wire that goes from controller to log doesn’t plug in as securely as I like. The connection can wiggle itself loose with some movement or accidental nudge of the controller and power has gone out on me a few times, when this happens. Perhaps a LED visual indicator could be added somewhere. Maybe I’m the oddball case here and need a new wire though.

Another thing is the screen in the herb bowl, wish it could be more secure somehow. I’ve dropped several loads of herbs just trying to poke or mix a bowl while vaping lol. Minor gripes that I’m sure will get better with time but I am really enjoying getting to know the couchlog.
