After I wash my baskets in PBW I rinse them in tap water and will blow through them to accelerate drying. To my surprise, you can make a whistle regularly occur by blowing through the ELB cap. It might not be the EVO you hear!

Mine used to whistle when I got it, doesn't whistle now unless I force myself to take a huge hit. If the EVO is whistling from a fast/hard draw the bud won't get warmed as much and extraction is less efficient anyways.

Picked one of these up on a whim at a local dispensary today, I’m impressed with everything about it...other than the fucking whistle 😒 is this common or did I just get lucky with my glass? It’s like damn dog whistle at my most natural draw speed 😩
Along with what was already said, which I agree with, there have been a few on here that have silenced the whistle by blocking the intake with hemp fiber and such. A search back thru this thread will yield their specifics.

Over time, I've learned that the draw I like, happens to be just below where the whistle starts

As for the ELB's, love 'em! The only way to keep up with them for convenience is direct loading such as RBT stems or the MV flexicones.

[The whistle] can change over time though so don't despair... Many users find the sweet spot on the draw speed is just below the point where the whistle starts.
Congratulations @SF Giant! Hope you enjoy the vape and the experience 👍. It's a good group of owners in this thread and a number of us come around regularly to share the EVO vaping experience (enjoyment, tips, tricks, feedback, etc.).

Ya, the whistling can be significant and frustrating on some EVO units. As already mentioned, EVO whistling behavior is variable from unit to unit and it often changes over time as the glass bamboo is subjected to repeated heat soaking. My EVO whistling behavior has changed a number of times back and forth over the last few years fwiw and I've posted about it here regularly. Happily, my EVO has been whistle free now for a while (three months or longer). Some good feedback on whistling has already been given and as mentioned, it can often get better or disappear with more use. One small bonus was that I found whistling in the beginning of ownership helpful to gauge appropriate draw speeds.

Another tip on trying to address whistle behavior is to see how heat soaking affects your EVO; a lightly heat soaked EVO can show different whistling behavior than when significantly heat soaked (e.g., 4 minute warm up vs 30 minutes or more). And one more tip... there was an obscure recommendation posted a while back here that really helped me address the whistling noise; the heat shield velcro straps on the bottom can be used to disrupt the airflow into the air intake enough to stop the bamboo from whistling. Attach the straps together tightly and orient them to be in a bit of contact with (as well as cover) the bottom of the bamboo opening. I've been able to reduce or eliminate whistling a number of times now by manipulating and positioning these velcro straps. For me when the EVO is quiet, it's perfect. Hope all that helps.
I love your photo of CANNABIS!
EVO is 4 seriously intrusive fanatics of Utopian existence!
Thx, it's great to see member's cannabis! I post my cannabis pictures regularly in the "what's currently in your vape" thread fwiw. Lots of nice pictures there. Cheers

That's wild, I do the same thing and never had the ELB cap whistle. I just pulled out everything for the EVO, tried the cap and got no whistle (obviously ymmv). PBW is great stuff! Fwiw, to further accelerate ELB drying, after blowing air through it I have put the ELB into the EVO and then turned on the EVO to heat up and speed evaporation; it works well, just don't do it with an ELB dripping with water. By the time I get to selecting and grinding some flower, as well as prepping for the next vaping experience, the ELB is dry and the EVO is warmed up and ready to rumble.

All quiet here lately it seems.

Personally, I'm currently vaping again with the EVO this late Saturday night for a little extra :science::evil:; and why not :razz:. I hope it's treating all of you as excellently. Cheers... and to @ataxian, here's a sneak peak of my new batch of Acapulco Gold, super frosty and a top notch combo imo with the EVO; the first low temp draw is so terpy, clean and flavorful.

OK, whistle is figured out 👌🏼 Does anyone else have issues with the caps to the ELB’s getting stuck in the joint on their hydra tubes? It’s happening on damn near every rip I take and it can be tough to get out of there sometimes, is there a fix for this?

Does happen rarely, is there a fix to it im not sure.

EVO is my daily driver and has cured my VAS mostly, it is one of the best devices, im truly grateful to have it in my life. For them to design a device which extracts with such grace and dignity the tastiest smoothest low temp vapor .....
Its a genius device with all glass heating element technically.

The fix to get the cap to stay in the ELB is to widen the cap....some folks press down on it enough to minimally widen the cap and some will take a needle nose plier or a scissor and with the plier/scissor closed, place the tips in the cap and lightly open the scissor/plier to make contact with the cap sides and widen the cap. Do it gently and test it to check that the cap is "stuck" in the ELB. It doesn't take a lot of force.

I guess I should clean out my Bamboo.. I tried it once with my last one.. but I never thought of doing it upside down.. to avoid getting it in the electronics.. hmm.. Some sound advice right there. Soon as I nurse this hangover, I'm going to try it! Flowerpot has been soaking in Iso and I usually microdose with my evo when my stash dwindles anyhow!

Also:
1. Never had a problem removing even a tight elb from the 18mm joint. Matter of fact, I prefer them tight fitting. I bite my fingernails and have no problem gripping it enough to pull it out.
2. Never had a problem with the baskets other than the caps not fitting and getting herb in my hydratube due to the cap not being on tight. There is a solution for that as we all know.. Squash them a little bit!
3. Of course we would all love a glass basket. I honestly think having a 100% glass airpath as well as glass basket or bowl is the future of vaporizers. We can dream right? I messaged Seibo a few years back on here regarding the possibility but I don't remember hearing back.
4. I really wish they would bring back the classic sized hydratubes.. I still have my classic hydrabomb and love it. I'm so paranoid whenever cleaning it though.. and it's much easier to clean than my precision Turbine.. Much easier. I tend to use my classic turbine for concentrates and/or a really tasty strain and my hydrabomb when i want the easiest pull!

I just came into a good source for bubble hash, cold water no solvents! What is the best way to use it in the evo, in one of the glass nails or add a little bit into the ELB with flower "sandwiched" around it?

ELB sandwich is my go-to. Even when I'm using straight up trates I prefer the sandwich approach. Others prefer trates in the nail but I don't like the process or the clean up.

When I've tried concentrates in the nail it hasn't been a great experience, especially getting the nails clean. For flower though, it's all I use. Since I got the Evo the Ghost and Plenty have sat in the closet.

Just curious, Are you using the Boros or Quartz. My flowerpot brothers prob don't like this opinion much but I find the flavor of all sauces, live cultures, shatter etc is far more flavorful than what my V rod SIC dish provides. Yes really. I plan on picking up a Sapphire or Quartz dish if available on black friday though. I'll let you know if my opinion changes.

Now as far as the FP goes in comparison to the Evo with my quartz nails.. the Sic dish hits far harder and faster like most of us are used to but the flavor.. IMO doesn't compare to the Evo with Quartz. I can't comment about the boros since they broke a long time ago and I only had two. IMO the main reason for me to choose quartz over boro was the cleaning.. and yes.. it's night and day between the two. It's all just pros and cons really and up to the individual to decide.

Word of advice.. concentrates should be sipped very easy and slowly with the evo.. And remember, a half size grain of rice can go a long way. Also waiting 10 seconds after seeing vapor.. well... you'll be surprised!

For starters, I'm an old school flower guy and a complete noob when it comes to concentrates. I have used the boro nails because that's what came with my unit. The cleaning of them for me is really difficult, and that's a problem because I like all my gear to be spotless. Maybe I should buy a set of quartz ones?

Totally up to you.

I throw the nails into a small ziplock bag filled with Orange Chronic. I shake the same bag periodically throughout the day at different intervals while doing other stuff. Usually about after 4 to 5 shakes and a couple hours it's clean. I then just take a long cotton swab and polish it out. I do remember distinctively that it took substantially longer to come off than quartz so it may be worth a try. You can always buy them individually too to see if you like them.. just remember you save roughly 10 bucks if you buy the pack of 5 as opposed to 5 separately at $20 a pop. Planet Vape was the last place I bought them individually.. usually as they break lol.

If I remember correctly @CANtalk uses the boros, I'm curious about his input, and also wanted to talk with him about that ultra sonic cleaner he uses.. I've been looking at them! Just like you, I only had two boros that came with my kit. Anyhow I don't remember so much difference in taste between the boro and quartz.. but rather the ease of cleaning.
