Grey glass gives me the horn so interested if they sell separately but that is not pleasing to my eye.

I like the VapCap so much because it's the best vape to put a 0.1g~ nug without grinding it. using a dry bubbler and fast draws, the cloud is so effective without any serious coughs. after first draw i "stir" (pinching it...) and it can go another round, i check the color each draw because i don't like black ABV..

Simrell's stuff is expensive and not for everyone, but it's high quality and holds resale value pretty well. Offering high end accessories built around dynavap parts makes sense and lots of people do it, but doing the same for cheap import glass is weird IMO. And I don't wanna imply they're not basically transparent about it, but my feelings about the Simrell/Pete/terptorch/Troy relationship aren't entirely positive.

I just don't really see the need for water personally. I bought the mega globe, used it about 3 times. It's just sitting on a shelf getting dusty.

IMO the beauty of a vapcap is in the simplicity. Adding a waterpiece unnecessarily complicates the process without adding much benefit.

I don't cough with my vapcap. I get full extraction without any throat irritation or coughing. It drives me nuts when I'm watching YouTube videos of 'experts' coughing their lungs out with a vapcap. Austyn Simrell and Troy among them as some of the worst. Goddammit, learn how to use the device.

To quote that homespun philosopher: “There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.”

and I’ve got the shortex to prove I’ve been fooled once

Tell the truth... Did ANYONE read that without doing an impression of W?

Need? No. Fun? Absolutely. The vapcap is a consistent and modular "vape engine" that (for me) provides the experience of smoking. So it's really awesome to hook it up to a piece intended for that.

I never got the globes, don't like how they look, and think they leave something to be desired functionally. Adding a 200+ slab of metal and some bolts to make it work as well as a standalone cheap piece is hilariously out of touch. At that point just get the grav sphere everyone loves.

I’m delighted to read that others here have also grown tired of the “review” scene pretending to be anything more than blatant pay for play advertisement.

They genuinely think nobody notices.

I'm confused at this. To me, all "professional" reviewers are reviewing for the chance to get a free thing for the collection, or at least play with something for free. That's totally normal, and it's established in other parts of the industry as well. It's showbiz.

Independent "reviewers" who are just regular people excited about the device they bought holds more weight with me, and why I like forums like this. But sometimes you just want to see the breakdown and use of the device before you buy, with good quality cameras and lighting.

Isn't that what ad revenue is for? These devices are usually several hundred dollars, which is a lot for a review anyway. In the industries I've been in, if a reviewer came up and asked for a device AND pay they would get laughed out of the room.

Is it the Lamborghini of water pieces though? Because if it’s not the Lambo, I’m not interested

I'd love to know your secret. I've been a cannabis enthusiast for four decades now, and I've always gotten throat irritation. I hoped vaping would ease that a bit, but it's really no better. I just assume that some of the compounds, especially THC itself, cause some irritation. It doesn't seem to do any permanent damage, like a tobacco smoker's hack, which I'd notice climbing hills on my bike. My wife will often say, "Oh, your poor lungs", when she hears a cough, but I say that's just the sound of a healthy respiratory system rejecting a foreign substance.

Of course, I do moderate my hits to avoid those major hacking events, which feel destructive. I can definitely pull too big a hit off of a Dynavap, so I always use a careful mouth-lung pull. I agree, I've always been surprised that Troy doesn't use a similar strategy, but I assume he's just taking one for the team, ripping the biggest hits for full demonstration purposes.

You might want to look at a low temp cap and see if that helps with the irritation.

Yeah, I've tried many vapes at many temps. The much cooler temp of my Simrell, even through water, isn't less irritating than a straight-up M. I think it's just something inherent to THC. I think it's the THC because I've really felt it using vape pens that are nearly pure THC distillate. It's really not a problem. I don't let it slow me down; I just take careful hits.

hi, is your device cleaned? like, qtip iso/ethanol 90%+ cleaned? is the ccd cleaned? is the cap.. check if there's no black residue there..

and - you don't take too slow pulls, if you heat it in the low point of the cap? like, your abv isn't black? there's a point where the abv is black but not combusted, easy to reach that with the Vapcap..

you say simrell usage but the cap from inside isn't dirty? it was dirty here, now it's shiny (tip got brushed too, like new..)
maybe the grinder is not cleaned or too fine grind? try coarser grind maybe..

and I've always gotten throat irritation
i found out that drinking milk made me cough when im vaping. i cough way less since i cut off the milk by like 90% ... i don't know if you drink milk or not, just mentioning that in case you do....

edit: i just blew a huge cloud out of the dyna, wooden stem + insert, dry bubbler, no cough at all. heated at 'medium'. it was so big that i feel bad i didn't take a video of it..
