@BabyFacedFinster I've been trying to do something similar. (the mason jar 'spitoon' thing). I could never get the metal edge to be smooth enough. Great idea on electrical tape. Thanks. I'ma try that.

My wife banned me from ruining any more of her jar lids. I tried to find one that had a pred-drilled a nice clean hole for a straw. It was my wife's drinking glass. So, that did NOT work out well. I only do the puff debowl thibg if I'm outside (parking lots usually) and the AVB just goes back to nature.

Otherwise I save it in huge jars on the shelf for the edibles I'll never make.

I was thinking it'd be fun as hell to sprinkle them all over my next backyard firepit fire. I'm in Colorado (legal state) & live in a sketchy part of town. So, weed smell in the air is very common (gangbanger neighbors ONLY do sour deisel - smell gets old. Fast.) I wonder if it would stink up the whole street to literally sprinkle multiple huge jars of AVB onto a blazing backyard fire. That's an odd thing to fantasize about on a forum dedicated to just saying no to cumbustion.

My debowler: I use nail hot glued to the bottom of a short stout glass jar that sits on a small pillow case filled with uncooked rice. There's a string tied around the top of the jar securing the pillow to the jar. That way, I can sit the debowler 'pillow' on the bed next to me without it spilling as I move about.

Note: I'm a medical user with mobility issues and spend long days in bed. I need a debowler to be spill-proof above all else.

Trying to post my first ever pic here.
Here goes...

The mason jar will be so much more conveinent for you. With the tiny opening, there is little chance of the spillage you can get from your setup. I'm thinking you fall asleep, roll over and knock your debowler over. Sort of the way I roll over on my glasses and bend them.

I never find the need to use a pointy thing to clear out the bowl. The air puffs it out pretty clean every time. After 1-2 weeks you will need to clean the screen or CCD. I would think a pick would increase the clogging by mashing reclaim and crud into the screen, but I know a lot of people swear by them.

@BabyFacedFinster yeah man, I love the idea of blowing out. Way easier. I hardly ever 'dig' out AVB.

What about putting a one way flap type opening? Like a flexible piece of thick silicon with a slit to put the tip in, blow, pull out. I like the idea of putting a tip in, blowing my load, pulling out and then... Wait, this is getting creepy.

No, seriously. If there was some sort of cover to prevent any blowback it'd be cool. It doesn't matter how gentle I puff my AVB into a bowl of dry AVB it always makes a mess.

I'm sure there are many hacks you can try. I believe a second hole will prevent ABV from flying out when you blow, but a flap of some kind might prevent against spills. At first when inserting the vc tip I would give it a good blow and that would make a mess. But then I learned that a few tiny puffs gets the job done with no mess.

I also save my abv for nothing as I will probably just get lazy and toss it. But the vc plus an IH creates a very nicely toasted abv without any foul charring, at least at the level I take my loads.

The mason jar also keeps the smell out.

Hey guys, Im about to get my first Cap, m 2020 and now I would like to buy a good lighter.
Question:
What do you prefer?
1,2,3 or even 4 flames?
I bought one with 3 and I am thinking, if I should also get a 1 flame lighter?

Or for a rather pocket hungry slightly more refined solution to blowing your load, Elev8 Glass offer a nice all-glass option for this purpose in the form of the Duff Jar . . .
glass_15_of_34__00953.1581378160.jpg

And of course, you can't beat a good ol' dose of enthusiasm from 7th Floor Steve . . .
It seems they take custom work too, so I've no doubt this could be made to perfectly fit a VapCap tip. Now that would be pretty sweet.

@crudo - welcome to the click. I use a single flame all of the time when indoors - it gives the best control which means you can really tailor each session to your liking.

But when out & about (or in a more draughty environment), I find a double or tripple flame far more suited for grabbing those quick & as discreet as possible rips while no one is looking :ninja:

So yeah, if I were you I'd definitely pick up a single flame torch as well, at least for home use.

Have fun.

@notams - I like that beanbag debowler. I park a lot of paraphernalia next to me on the couch while locked to this screen. Debowling always made me put the computer aside and use the table. Never really thought about scaling that up tray up a bit. Makes perfect sense. Thanks

Any recommendation or just a random Amazon one for a few €?

Thinking about the zippo butan one.

I recycled gum and mint containers to hold my avb. Usually I don't save my avb so I'm cool with using plastic and the minty smell. ;)

Works pretty good, a nice light blow or 2 is all I do to clean my stems. I use the larger snap lid for larger glass and wood stems that don't fit in smaller snap lid. Larger hole is good to pick/brush screens clean, without making a mess.

I have these containers scattered around house and garage, so I always have one close by. The snaps are pretty strong. They keep avb inside if tipped over or fall off my desk. Made of plastic so it won't break and helps to keep odor down too.

Being more of a sucker than a blower the only time I blow my load is outside. Inside I have used one of these for many years now. Since I use a lot of glass stems, the medium hard rubber surface is perfect for whacking my stems at the opening to empty them, or using the round inside if a stem stubbornly holds it's load. VCs empty just as well with a good tap or if really stuck with a quick poker.

Yeah, I know it may not be very helpful but I would say mostly just take your pick of what you like the look of & you'll soon find out what works for you the best.

Some brands are obviously better than others but price often does not make a great deal of difference - some high end lighters will crap out in the first month or two while that $7 dollar torch you picked up at some random store could last you several years.

There are specific threads somewhere for this . . . hang on a mo . . . . . . ah, here's one for your perusal: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/whats-your-favorite-torch-or-lighter-to-use-with-the-vapcap.23318/

But you know this is all just a giant rabbit hole, right? ;)

Have fun in the burrow

SEARCH for the treasure...
I bought this single flame torch on Amazon, for $50. Sure, you can buy much cheaper ones, and buy them 2-3 times when they fail, just as I have over the years. I felt my new DV deserved better. You can also LOCK the flame ON, many lighters don’t allow that. I’m moving toward IH heating as I dislike using a torch period, but don’t regret the purchase.

https://www.sneakypetestore.com/products/the-pocket-micro-torch-by-blazer?variant=23580306210897

FROM SP SITE:
“The Blazer Pocket Micro Torch (model PB-207) is my favourite lighter to use with a DynaVap or Sticky Brick. It is manufactured in Japan and made to a level of quality that is far beyond that of a typical cheap butane junker. The Blazer Micro Torch uses the industry’s first piezoelectric quartz crystal ignition system to reliably spark a 2500° wind-proof flame that can be locked on, plus it has a good safety on the trigger to keep you from accidentally lighting it. Precision engineering and attention to detail make the Pocket Micro Torch the best there is for a butane powered vape. The heat source is obviously very important to this entire experience, and it is definitely worth the extra expense to make sure you have a quality torch, especially if you drive your DynaVap or Sticky Brick daily.”

IDK, my $13 three-flame Vertigo has been rock solid for a few years now, no signs of breaking anytime soon...
I'm not judging though. I spent $150 on a stem

I was excited to get my early 4/20 ti-bb9 setup.

Taking it out of the package....they changed the carb/airport/whateveryoursupposedtocallit.

Now there is an extruded hole so it sticks out above the surface a good mm or 2. Great for those that
actually use it....bad for those that like to block it off.

bb9carb-New.jpg

Unfortunately...I got a dud or low-qc one...the joint fits looser than a $5 ..... lol

Have to return this one and ask for anything that have flush carbs if possible.

Ok, enough with this talk about blowing into stems being dangerous. If someone wants to make a thread on the topic, go for it, but we're not going to allow that discussion to derail this thread further.

Thank you.

I dont think it is possible for this thread to stay on topic...lol Seriously....

I will not talk about duff/ash trays...............duh.....just did....crap....self moderating myself now and going back to work in the basement where my other BB9 is waiting.

Ha, nice caveat, dude.

Aaaanyway, DynaVap anyone?

Wow! Looks like VapeWellness have sold out of their stock of DynaTec Apollo 2 induction heaters in less than 48hrs.

Anyone here snag one?

:peace:

I was about to click checkout when @TommyDee mentioned the alpine. Will be pre ordering this if I get a chance portable and only $99. Will be 50/50 as it’s untested but think would be a good idea to check this one out. Can always revisit the DynaTec one later.

@Ratchett makes a vape spittoon that looks pretty nifty. You can buy just the lid if you've got your own mason jar.

I have the exact same as you there. while I haven’t checked the joint firs right the carb is raised also.
think they changed it so you can find where it is easily as with out it being raised can see me frantically looking for it. I think anyway. these are the newer versions.
will check the joint size and confirm if similar issue.

Talking about smell proof sad to say the Dynastash is not smell proof :( sad

sad to say the Dynastash is not smell proof
My DS from the first release about four years ago is definitely pretty odor containing - there has been so many times when I've been places & reached in to a coat pocket to find my phone or something only to grab my DynaStash instead, which really was NOT supposed to be there. And on every occasion such as this that it has occured so far (yeah, it happens far too often) I have been so thankful that it was my hand that found it first & not my nose . . . or far worse, somebody else's.

Now that's some pretty heft padauk on the lid of my Stash, and I've got it fastened fairly tight, but I have no idea how they've been built going forward, although I would hope this feature has been retained as it's essential imo.

How loose is your lid when you spin it? Maybe it could use tightening? . . . . . . . Or maybe you just have da absolute skunky funky stinky goodness and nothing's holding that shit back?

Now I can talk about the '20-M! First comment - that is not just an adjustable CCD, it is an infinitely adjustable bowl. George took heed at the bottom of the bowl as well as the CCD sits nearly flat. It appears the bore for the CCD on the'18 & '19 was 5/16" and is slightly bigger for the '20. 8mm maybe? No need to convex the CCD in this puppy. However, convexing it does help keep it from sliding in further. I can see some CCD-Setter aftermarket tools to really make full use of this neat new feature.

I like the stem and finding the chevron air-port is easy enough. The taper is nice and George even finished off a radial cut for the o-ring to sit in. Still too heavy for me as a stem, but it will make a really useful leather punch. That alone is more than I can do with my '18 and 2 '19 stems.

C-Vap. They sent out the shallow cut '19s. Sorry George, I wouldn't give this to a friend. It would just harp on the stigma of VC's not drawing well. If a friend needs a DV, I'll give them one of the more functional ones out of my already budding collection. Hopefully the cap is good. Soaking in alcohol ATM.

Edit; I should just finish it here -
I'm underwhelmed on the '20 cap and the overall performance on the IH so far. I could not get dark ABV on the short bowl. The clicker is nearly like the '19 with clicks on top of each other. Difference is that this is a cold blooded cap. However, I also put the '19 cap on the '20 tip and still, difficult to get any lasting draw. Interesting. Doesn't make much sense. But it is early yet. Just a couple of comparison bowl. First impressions.

The cap has a fit & finish problem George. The laser-cutter burn is off-putting. Just a niggle. They can clean that up and it does count for proper patina with the torch or IH. Don't cut a corner here please.

The cap fit. I'll spare the emoji's. They are not crimped oval anymore so you can decide. The little pair of crimps or the old style. By default, the new crimps engage. Bad choice George. Not the idea because it is fine and I like not loosing the cap, thank you, but the new choice of the tip design that makes pulling the cap off much more cumbersome due to all the 'catches' along the tip now. The new cap works much better as intended on the older tips. But no love lost, just squeeze the cap as before and you have your traditional cap back. If that won't quite do, a pair of LeatherMan pliers will do quick work of subduing the crimps.

Well, I got a C-Vap for a friend and I can't give them the C-Vap. I got a '20-M that might have to do.

Pro; cool bowl adjustment capable; secure cap option by squeezing the cap differently; Breathes better than prior years by relaxing the CCD crimp and allowing shallow fit adjustments.
Con; it just doesn't heat up; the caps are hitting a wild west stage. My '18 is the only reliable clicker I have out of 4 +1 vapcaps - 1 being known as a blem C-Vap cap.

I wonder if the cooling fins are too effective :disgust:

I would be really surprised if George intentionally shipped defective tips, even as a freebie. Blems with a burr or discolorations or misscut ridges on the outside are one thing, but do you have a properly cut 19M tip to compare it to?

mines tight but can be moved with little force. So if in my pocket and reach out for it awkwardly it could spill open.
It doesn’t stink the place out but there is a noticeable weed smell if you have a sensitive nose.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll try tightening it down more and see if it helps.
Temporary fix is it’s in a smell proof weed zip lock bag that doesn’t even let out a whiff of odour. They do the trick but the actual inner lock liner is badly made and isn’t sealed. And they not cheap. They by smelly proof.

You can call it what you like but thousands, probably tens of thousands would disagree. A flaw so fatal that the device quickly became a worldwide success.

Which is often not the case.
Agreed, and my post is simply this: to turn an M into an Omni, it is not about the metal so much as the air inlet lacking the vents in the M. you can raise the cap OR you can turn an M into a more expensive model, albeit without the chamber adjustment for microdosing and the thermal properties of Ti vs SS.

It took me a while to understand the tip differences, since the photos arem dare I say, bit non-transparent as to the fine detail on that chamber face.
I do not hold any of this against Dynavap in any way. My intent was to spread the word on how to improve the device with a simple Dremmel plunge 3x on an M.

As far as the thousands sold, many will return to upgrade at 3x the price. The differential in the product line keeps a company viable. Everyone wants the more expensive model they cannot afford right now. That is human nature : Never be satisfied with what you have; never be grateful until it is gone.

I do. Definitely different. It doesn't draw. Worse than my '18-M original. Clicker is a one-click old style that sometimes clicks twice randomly. And a Karma vape engraved '18 stem.
