First round of test holes drilled with some of the bits I have. First of all, 14 mm tubes are really 14.5 mm's, which probably means 15 mm. Things get sketchy because bits begin overlap (metric and imperial). 9/16, 5/8, 19/32, 41/64, as well as 14 mm, 15 mm, 16 mm. So far I've ordered 15 and 16 mm bits. I'll look more today at options that can get here quickly, and are cost effective.

I have an idea to protect the 14 mm glass with a wood *cap*, using an Arizer style stem. Everything is in test phase, but we are definitely moving forward for 2020.

Bits arrived, with even more on the way, should be interesting to see how this comes together. I can now drill four sized holes from 14 to 16 mm with (working with 14mm, 15mm, 9/16 and 5/8). Nice thing about Timber's modular design is that this has no effect on the bottom section (electronics) at all. This is purely a top section change that can be incorporated rather quickly, with very little change to units specs. For right now, coil stays the same. I'll be playing with a bit that this week.

My Timber Elite is "Out for Delivery". Seems like a great name for a song doesn't it?

I have been wanting the Timber since Mike first talked about the design in the fall of '17. I can't tell you how many times over the past few weeks I've thought to myself, "this would be the perfect time for the Timber", and had to pick up another vape instead.

I have great vaporizers so it's not like I am without great choices. But a handheld on-demand, regulated vape is perfect for me when I'm in a writing or recording session. And I don't have that vape yet.

Based on delivery patterns in my neighborhood I should have this beauty in hand well before 4:20pm.

And I want to send a big thank you to @Bravesst who worked through some very difficult health issues to get this batch out in time for Christmas.:rockon::cheers:

Likewise @beyond6strings !
My Timber Elite is out for delivery, tracking says it'll be here within the hour.
I can't even tell you how excited I am, it was supposed to come tomorrow but landed early on my day off ;) and I'm ready to lift off.

I've been following this thread since the first batch of LB's which I was apart of.
Cheers, I'll report back once it has arrived.
Thanks Mike!

Mine arrived and I have had some fun.

This is just a gorgeous high performance craft vaporizer. Gorgeous to look at, and great feel.

I've struggled with the DNA75c a bit, but I'm sure Mike will get me sorted out. It's ridiculously great vaporizer, and works great right out of the box as is.

Great flavor, great extraction, and it packs a helluva punch.

@Ga-Whoon I think you'll be having some fun of your own shortly.

Hats off to you @Bravesst Timber isn't a home run, it's a grand slam.

I apologize for no written manual. I'm working on one, and will email it out.

5 clicks of the fire button turns it on and off, which I guess I never do (shut off, as it turns off automatically in a few minutes).

Units are all tested for resistance (cold ohms), and it should be indicated on the battery door. Go to coil / setting / and from that screen you can make changes to cold ohms, but this should not be necessary unless the cold ohms somehow changed.

You can use Power mode or TC mode. If you go Power, you can adjust wattage from low 20's to as high as you'd like (normally cap out at 28 to 32). TC mode, you can set the temp (watts are set at 50), and I'd start at 375 and work up if necessary.

I'm working on a written manual, and will email out to all customers. For now, feel free to contact me for advice.

^^^^^^^^^^

thanks @Bravesst this helps a bunch.

UPDATE: OMG, I've got this set up in Temp control at 385, left the ohm setting as is, and holy crap.

What's better than a grand slam? Cuz the Timber Elite is WAY better than a grand slam.

cheers

BRO this timber has definitely exceeded my expectations! My girlfriend gave me an early surprise Christmas gift and we both have been blown away. My first thought when I got a hold of it was "wow.. this is lighter than I thought!" The DNA75 chip is really easy to navigate. The craftmanship is so beautiful. Buttons are super firm, no play whatsoever. The basket screen actually stays in place and is really easy to clean. Using power mode at around 28 watts I got some really nice terpy hits but I didnt get that huge thick hit until I went into temp mode. 35 watts at 385 completely surprised me at how thick the vapor was and medicated I got. My girlfriend and I were so medicated that we somehow woke up 2 hours later and had to get ready for bed lmao. I have a feeling my davinci IQ will be collecting dust for now. After those two bowls I really am interested in a heat dispenser idea as I do see tiny bits of hotspots but no problem because I don't mind stirring. My conclusion is that this is a quality product and I am super happy with my timber! With the right amount of power I believe the flavor of this thing can match up with the dynavaps IMO :)

congratulations on your new Timber ! @beyond6strings and @Ga-Whoon alike .

in regards to hotspotting, i posted a video in the Lil’Bud thread last night , in it i talk about utilizing a rimmed screen at times (must use a rimmed screen with my rig piece but use one with my wooden tubes at times too )

i have been getting great results with my wood stem - rimmed screen - timber combination .

the rim of the screen seems to absorb some heat , which in turn helps roast more evenly then basic screen when hotspotting in the centre or other area of the load .

i also show off my amazing timber wood grain, in the video , do a inhand size comparison of all Vapwood vapes, show different ways to hold the LB when vaping , clouds with light and no light , etc.

vape on!

@beyond6strings were still waiting on some wood porn

Given that I tour nationally I have been advised against posting pictures until the Feds in the US figure out a national cannabis policy. Sorry about that.

I will say that the Timber Elite is hands down the best vaporizer I have. And I have some cool ones.

Here's why I think that.

The taste from Vapwood vaporizers, LB included, is as good as anything I get from my Ditanium and my Elev8r. But neither of those vapes are on-demand (Ditanium is close), but the amount of herb required in either of those to work best is 2-3 times what it takes for the Timber Elite.

The batteries last a good long time-I've not counted stems yet, but I've been working this thing hard since Monday and I'm only on my 3rd battery and it's at 75% and the first two batteries I used were a year or so old.

The hand feel is fabulous, Mike's wood-working skills have continued to improve since I got my first LB in '18. By a lot. And it's the perfect vape for my tendonitis. No stress for either hand hitting the fire button. I use my thumbs so I don't accidentally hit another menu button.

Mine is a lovely 'Black & Tan', Walnut with a Cherry center. Gorgeous wood choices. And I've already buttered her up once, and will again before I leave for a trip Saturday. BTW, if you live in the Northeast or Canada keep an eye on your Vapwood-it's really dry this time of year and wood, even good aged wood, shrinks when humidity gets below 45%.

Once Mike gave me some tips on how to 'get into' the Timber to customize the settings I'm in heaven. I'm getting exactly the response and extraction I want in Temp mode at 35w and 385 degrees.

The glass in my new tube is better than the glass in my LB tubes-rounded ends make for a much better mouth feel, and the short tube is perfect for this vape. Perfect.

Lastly, there is something about the effect of different vaporizers. We talk a lot about vapor signatures being different from one device to another, but we don't talk quite as often about how different vapes give different highs. And the high from both my Timber and my LB hit me in a way none of my other vapes do. Headier, but more powerful, and I always get more done in the office and in my life when I'm using Vapwood vapes over say a vapcap which I've learned is for after work use only.

I couldn't be happier with my Timber Elite. It was my Canna-Christmas present to myself this year, and this year Santa was very good to me.

Thanks Mike.

Cheers, FCers

Is there a specific brand of beeswax I should buy to keep my timber healthy?

No you should be good with most any kind. I find it better to do a little bit but more often than a lot and less frequently. It keeps the wood the most stable. No big swings which can lead to cracking.

lol maybe in your neck of the woods... but.... from canada , yes it gets dry but the last of my worries is my LB’s cracking from dry humidity . lol ... it’s not like a 2to4mm guitar top, side or back that is pressured/ glued into an arch like dreadnought guitar backs are for example... i’m not saying it’s not a good practice to beeswax, it definitely wont hurt , will give it life and is good practice to care for your investment . i just wouldnt want anyone thinking the vapwood vapes might be prone to cracking if they aren’t waxed regularly, they are not . i don’t recall when or how often i have beeswaxed my Vapwood’s. i think one time i rubbed hard beewaxs on it, then rubbed it off on my jeans for a quick , simple buff and shine

i seen @abracadaver ’s Timber in the classifieds, i don’t know what he used but that is one smooth shiny looking Timber up for grabs

thc distillate. thick, clear , tasteless and odourless, said to be the purest/cleanest form of cannabis extract.

250-A7453-A742-42-F0-B679-0-FB2-FA24-CE3-A.jpg

can it be used with the LB and Timber ? of course!

put a drop of distillate on your dab tool or even a toothpick. first load your bowl with herb , take your drop of distillate and roll it / mix it with the herb in your bowl .

98-F80-CF3-97-DC-419-F-A9-B2-FFE1-ECFB441-D.jpg

got some on the rim of your screen ? no worries ! it won’t go to waste! don’t have any on the rim of your screen ? add a lil ! i did for the sake of this pic :) it will warm up and do its magic , believe me!

it doesn’t change or add flavor to your bowl, perhaps it masks the herb flavor a lil bit. when dabbed by itself i detected a very faint taste of weed/kush. it roasts nicely and evenly with the herb , the sessions seem to last a little longer and roast dark and even with a stir or two to help get the distillate disperse after the initial few draws.

hope i don’t make you’s drool , i know not everyone can get their hands on such delicacies, if you do have the chance to score some , try it and play safe , it does pack a punch ! :D

vape on !

I'm officially out of DNA75 color boards, but my next batch is all LB's, so I'm good until after the holidays. Anticipating some changes (possibly 14 mm tube capability), the first batch of Timbers will roll off the assembly line, potentially, by the end of the January. It's time to order some boards.

works great .just keep your stem horizontal to avoid accidental drops. the thc distillate in photo is thick as fuck, no worries of it dripping anywhere. still, use at your own risk .. #voidwarrant #yeahbaby

How did you get your screen to display all that? Mine looks all boring.
i didnt do anything . it came as such .

the LB Elite had a profile created for the Elite by @HerbieVonVapster and @Bravesst . @HerbieVonVapster hasn’t been around in a long time so not sure if he is ok , still amongst us on the forum or what.

i do know when i got my Timber Elite , the display was the same but some settings and profiles that are my Lb Elite had either changed or disappeared on the Timber. from what i see in your pic (and from what Mike wrote a week or two ago about simplifying the software) it looks like he’s opted for a more generic (maybe dna stock ) interface/display , whatever it’s called.

why the change . i don’t know , Lb Elite settings worked fine for me and it seemed to work good for others too.

the file was up and available for download somewhere.. ifyou go on evolv website or download to software, there might be a FC file somewhere with different « profiles « for all kinds of 510dry herb attachements ... sorry i can’t better help find the file, il try too..

After working with the software, speaking with customers, I realized that level of control is unnecessary in a device where the coil doesn't swap out. You have all the control you need with one program for pure power, the other for temp control, and six blank profiles you can do whatever you'd like with. There is no reason to have an icon of every control on the home screen. All you need to control is temp and / or watts (and preheat is a cool option), all easily accessible. I feel it simplifies, especially for new users, but gives an experience user quick access to every necessary function.

@minh533 , i don’t really like the attitude of the response right above me, i’ll work hard to find you the file. i dont find it unnecessary or find its useless to have icons or that there’s is no reason for them . i’ve actuslly been using some of those . i guess i’ve been vaping wrong and using unnecessary and useless features all this time . at least it feels as it’s what i’ve just been told with the post above.. . funny enough those icon and no reasons to have...made a difference to me. but @minh533 , if you don’t want a boring screen there are ways to add or change what you see on the display.

the picture icons for example are quick kind of like shortcuts on a computer desktop for easy access or (easy brain memory of where stuff is )

i used to look st the graph on screen after every hit , my LB Elite as a icon for that . the two bottom number show how much power/wattage your last draw took and high higher temp went .. for example in that last pic of mine , my Elite is set to 450 but on my last draw i had only reached 400. i drew too fast perhaps. it’s fun to compare from hit to hit and either see or feel the difference in your breath , speed , etc..

edit : perhaps if it’s soenthing i had done myself and then the manufacturer says « simpler is better » then cool im fine with that . but when something is manufacturer set and manufacturer turns around to say it’s unnecessary and useless 9months later, make me wonder.. why not help someone who asks about an earlier version of software find it so that they find their Elite less boring instead of saying others have been unnecessarily using featured.. i find that tough to swallow.

what happened ? is @herbievon ‘s file still available. was it lost or accidentally changed , , is it forbidden to talk of or use it ?
