So basically if I drop the $630 and get this vape it will be enough of an improvement over the DBV that I won't be disappointed?

The cloud is "better", easier and faster.

The DBV is good enough tho but if you try something better its hard to go back...if you won't try it tho, you'll never know...I suggest you wait till VX sort things out

If you have a lot of free cash sitting around and don't mind taking a chance on being out $500, I'd take the chance as the unit is awesome. But if it breaks (likely at this point), you're probably not getting your money back, or a repair until they get back in their feet (current estimate is 3 months). Great Vape, terrible situation, and it comes down to either taking a gamble or just waiting to see how things work out. If I could do it all over again, I'd find a used "clicker" as those seem to be quite reliable.

sinnerman...the cloud is the vape that made me shelve and finally trade my SSV, the DBV's bigger brother. If you want to vape through water, it is absolutely the way to go. If you prefer dry vaping then I wouldn't bother, as the DBV is a good unit for that. Then there is the issue of timing and, as scientifik says, this may not be the best time. If I could get it and still hang onto the DBV for a bit in case of malfunction until the 3 month period is up, then I might pull the trigger. But that will be up to your current situation. The performance is absolutely worth it, but the reliability at this point in time will need to be considered.

+1

The DBV is known to be quite reliable, there is even a video of TokinGLX hitting one with a hammer,.

On the other hand, I took a hit from my Cloud yesterday, the second elb of my session so the VXC was pretty warm, and it floored me, like I was taking a dab. I've never coughed this much from a vapor hit.

Nobody but you can put a value, as far as satisfaction, on a vape and whether it's worth the money or not. That's purely subjective and up to the individual to decide. So don't buy the vape and then complain that it's our fault because you've decided it's not worth 4+ times the cost of a DBV. The Cloud was designed as a model for the vapor connoisseur, not as something you absolutely need for proper vapor delivery. The DBV and many other more affordable vapes will do that just fine.

I am a NYC*'er by heart, born and raised.

fixed ;) City slicker.

On topic: I've been going though some very stressful, tough, financial times right now (unexpectedly needed new apartment, car quit on me so new [cheap used] car, now the new car needs some unexpected repairs) and if it was not for my Cloud... I don't even want to think of the destruction .

Cloud make me go from :bang: to :haw:

Great Scott!
I can't seem to find the post about what is going on with supply issues?

I rarely check this thread since my ticker is still working well.

Does anyone have a link to the post, or a simple explanation will help. I went back like 20 pages and can't find it.

We are very sad to inform you that we recently had to part ways with our manufacturer due to irreconcilable differences and regretfully must notify the forum that we are completely out of inventory as well as parts to repair a defective VapeXhale Cloud.

Legally, we have been advised to keep the details under wraps but the Cliff Notes version is that we have reason to believe that the manufacturer didn't put their best effort into assembling our product and have taken our future designs and given it to a competitor.

We have had a string of bad luck with our last few manufacturers but this was the first time where we encountered malicious intent. Any momentum we gained since winning the Cup in Feb, as well as placing in all categories at the Colorado Cup have been derailed by this. This was supposed to be the final hurdle before VapeXhale could begin scaling our operations, hiring more full time staff, and introduce new, cutting edge vaporization products.

Instead, we are back to square one and picking up the pieces of this aftermath. The units that our team built ourselves are all units that are functioning properly with the correct temperature range. Because of this, we are now looking for a new location where we can bring ALL the manufacturing in house and do all of our own QC so that each and every customer gets a positive experience with us.

We're not asking for any sympathy or compassion in this situation, we just ask for some understanding. We have a small team here that is working for pennies on the dollar and we are all working 24/7 to ensure that the last 3 years of hard work don't get flushed down the drain because one person decided it would be better to bury us than do business with us. Luckily, we have a proven product and many investors who are ready to help chip in to get us back to full strength and then some.

This was/is very depressing news for me to experience but we've already come so far with our vaporizer that we cannot let this die. Thanks again for all of your support and we will be doing weekly updates on our Twitter and Facebook pages as well to keep everyone in the loop.

this too.

I know there is a lot of concern in this thread about your recent purchases. While we cannot repair units now, we have begun the process of getting our custom parts rebuilt. We've drained our savings and taken out loans against our homes to keep this thing going because we believe in our product and we want our customers to be happy. Once we are able to repair them again, we will notify everyone that submitted a ticket.

On a side note, obviously, there are two sides to each story. I am sure our ex-manufacturer has their side but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what we say, it doesn't matter what they say, what matters is the evidence that we have, and we have that in spades. I might be a simple primate, but I know that what we have on them, there will be no denying that we were sabotaged and lied to this whole time. If we lose this battle, considering all the evidence that we have gathered, then it really is true that "nice guys finish last"

It makes me a saaad panda. :(

Sinnerman: There's three things I liked more about the SSV than the VXC.

1) The SSV can take a beating and only have the wand, heater cover, and knob break. If you drop a VXC and break the male joint on it the replacement will cost a lot more than getting replacement parts for the VXC.

2) If you have the time to be leisurely you can make one load last a long time in the SSV. The same size load in the VXC is effectively used up much quicker.

3) The ability of the SSV to melt scented candle wax, or diffuse essential oils while vaping.

Honestly, the first two things I liked more about the SSV don't really pertain or serve me much use anymore though, seeing as I no longer drink excessively, throw huge parties, and have a full time job these two factors just don't matter to me much . If I were still a college student I don't think my Cloud would have had a very long life.

I do miss having the ability to diffuse essential oils and melt scented wax while vaping. I'm sure the VX team can come up with a solution for that though! Other than that the Cloud does more than meet my exceptions, and delivers everything I want in a vaping experience that the SSV could not.

You know, if you had a steel or glass dish with a hole in the center, that could be used to diffuse oils with the cloud. Just sit it on the "HOT" inner shielding.

Hi all. Lurker and new here now. I have a similar issue like as posted here VapeXhale Cloud . I bought a cloud after the clickers were upgraded. call it just "Cloud". Then VXH upgraded to the Cloud+. my understanding that the main upgrade is a new heater that heats up faster, the case is warmer to the touch. this is the Cloud+. My Cloud stopped heating. I sent it in and paid $150 for the Cloud+ upgrade. What I got back was different than the Cloud in these ways: heats faster (goes green), case is warmer to the touch, GonG is longer, silver knob, the unit feels lighter, when it goes off it just shuts the LEDs off (as opposed to flashing red/green).

I decided I wanted to get a spare. I feel the Cloud is worth it. So I ordered one from a distributor after asking if it was the "latest version". they said yes "latest version". When I opened the box, I saw a silicone sleeve (warning 1), the warranty said 1 year (warning 2) and the knob was black (warning 3). At this point I expected it to be just a Cloud. I set it and my Cloud+ to 3 o'clock. Turned them on at the same time. The distributor one took 12 minutes longer to turn green. After both were on for 30 mins, the distributor one is too hot to the touch and the Cloud+ is very warm but you can hold it.

So this would indicate that the distributor one is a Cloud (not a Cloud+). So I email the distributor that I think I did not get the "latest version". They tell me that VHX told them it was the latest version, there is no such thing as a Cloud+, they want to talk to VXH about what it is exactly and have me wait, they are a small family run business. No offer to fess up and take responsibility and offer a full refund postage paid back. They seem to want to talk me into it being the latest version when I have the latest version right here and its not it!

They communicate with VXH and are told they only shipped Cloud+'s to distributors (remember the distributor said there was no such thing as a Cloud+ (???). I emailed SM55 directly and asked "whats going on?" and "what do I have?" (paraphrasing), he said this: all distributors only got Cloud+'s. that there was a time when they were putting Clouds together with whatever they had. so if a black knob when on a Cloud+ then oh well. that the bamboo comes from the same source and because its handmade (my presumption) there are variations in specs such as wall thickness and GonG height. That it is definitely a Cloud+. oh and that there could have been firmware differences, presumably affecting the nature of the LEDs. From the distributor they said that another VXH person said that there were Cloud+'s that were made unauthorized by the VXH guys. And those units should be considered unoffical. Also SM suggested they put a silicone sleeve in there because they had some left, and even if the warranty says 1 year, you actually will get 2 years.

Thing is... two things: 1) the unit VXH sent me as my paid upgrade is the one they are saying is unauthorized and unofficial and 2) the distributor one runs too hot to touch and takes longer to go green and flashes on auto-off.

I'm not actually complaining. You will notice that I bought a Cloud as a spare. That's almost $500 sitting around. Why? Because I think the Cloud is the best vaporizer out there. I think its worth having another as a spare. I have a Solo and it works pretty good with the hydratubes but its not a Cloud.

I'm just letting you know what I know. I am not sure what to do with the one from the distributor. Should I return it? Should I keep it? I am pretty sure its all you're going to get at this point as there appears to be no new stock. Even if it is just a Cloud, should I still keep it? Help me out here. :)

I have a Cloud Plus as my daily driver and an older Cloud as my backup. They both function well for me, so I would say just keep it. :2c:

Hello, and welcome to FC member status, vapordave!
I'd definitely keep that Cloud hanging around. You said so yourself that it's the best. Don't want to be without the best, do you? ;)

Thing is, it would then cost me an additional $150 to get upgraded... IF... VXH had parts and people to do it (apparently they don't at the moment). So its not really worth $450... or... is it????

Getting it upgraded is your call. As is the decision of whether or not it's "worth it" (to you). Not upgrading it is an option you should consider. Or only upgrading it if it fails during the initial warranty. It's about weighing the risks and making the choice that you are comfortable with.

I have been away for quite a while and I am saddened to hear of the recent unfortunate events that have affected the VXL team. I have nothing but good experiences with them and hope to see them back in action soon.

Today marks the 13th month I have had my VXC and this vaporizer continues to impress me as much as it did on the first day. It is a device that has converted many of my smoker friends into believers of vaporization (including a stubborn old bastard, my father). I took a gamble and purchased one of the units over at vaporizers.ca as I cannot think of a better Fathers Day gift.

I wish you the best SM and VXL team, you guys deserve a Nobel Peace Prize for the VXC!

Yes and no. I have my DBV out because my gf broke/lost all of my damn ELB's again!! The DBV can get compareable hits to the cloud, but you have to be careful. Don't talk or blow near the tube, can't suck to hard or soft. That is why I love the cloud because I don't have to worry about any of that all I have to worry about is the bowl packed and ready to go. Then the cloud extracts like no other!!!!

Cloudy...
You will need a female to female adaptor, but I think it will work really well. But for the price, why not buy an HT?

Imo a vapexhale circ with female-female on top would be cheaper and safer while doing the same - if you want it for attaching the elbow whip.

I agree, just curious. I have spent way to much on glass lately. I ISO washed some abv last night and came up with a few hits. Should I just use the cloud? This is my first time!

You're wanting to use ABV QWISO in the Cloud? If so, I suggest you use the Cloud inverted. To avoid any unwanted mess from getting down into the bamboo.
