    First post.

I've had my Cloud for less than three months and the heater quit working. Looks like I need a back-up vape while this one visits Mr. Xhale. Any suggestions on which one to get?

mod note: Try starting a thread in Ask FC. It's off topic here.

Arizer Solo or LSV, depending if you want a portable or not.

I am still thinking about how to repair the poor broke cloud. I am thinking about rebuilding the ceramic heater. But in order to do this I need to know the ohm resistance of that heater so I can duplicate it and create the same environment for the board to monitor. Does any one know what that might be?

That sucks man, but think of the bright side...it brought you to register and first post on FC ;) Also, you may have a better Cloud than before it broke after you get your new one back, AND you have the ability to upgrade to the Cloud Plus. Welcome to FC dude, and thanks for sharing...I hope VX gives you a warranty support that reflects the money you spent.

A log vape like the underdog is good too if you want to interface it with glass.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm leaning towards the LSV.

After smoking through a paper towel roll pipe today, I am glad people are making new vapes and improving the technology.

worlds different, thanks so much guys. finally feel comfortable holding my cloud.
honestly feel like this should be mandatory. their silicone shield just isn't enough.
also hoping for a detachable cord. saw the mod earlier in the thread. thought that was pimp
as hell. one week til we find out

I'm not one to keep someone from speculating, if that's how they entertain themselves... But people already have the new unit in their sweaty little hands, and the cord isn't removable. The wristbands aren't necessary either. :brow:

With a cloud in repair, how much is it to upgrade to the plus ?

After the initial heating up. I left it on the lowest temperature setting when I turned it to the temperature i wanted, about 12:30, it went red to green in an instant. I was able to get vapor.

I leave the cloud in my garage, I woke up 5 am and couldn't get back to sleep. I walked in, it was probably below 20 degrees there. I pulled my cloud, walked in for a cup of water, piss, and walked back into the garage. It felt warm to the touch (I strapped a livestrong around it) turned it up to 1 am, stood there watching the glowing red light for good 3 mintues in that cold garage. When I pulled it, it was milky vapor. I tucked back in bed and I was baked going to sleep.

Don't like the drag through the percs that much, never a fan of them, hoping replacing with the glass mouthpiece will give me less drag and more direct instead of going through percs.

my iphone camera is crappy, I will have to try clean it out to grab some pictures of it.

Although the cord isn't removable, I do believe it is now "fixable".

    care to elucidate?
Boo on 1st, 'twas a great idea, oh well, hopefully if we keep talkin' 'bout it :)
that's awesome about the bands, do you still need the shield? if so i might be one to forgo the shield entirely and stick w/ the bands. no worries about pockets not stuck or peeling around the edges.
    that'd be sweet.

Already did. I indicated that there is a new type of collar around the cord right at the unit. It has something that appears to be able to be "pressed". Based on all the several PM's i've had about Cloud Plus', outside of something I don't care to discuss, I think i've already owned one. Ofcourse this is all speculation and conjecture, but cheesesandwhich, you may have lucked out ;)

lol, ok. the first three sentences make sense.
you've said it before. there is a collar and something that appears to be able to be "pressed."
got it. i have a collar. a cloud that i just bought, and i can press a tab on it. not sure what it was before or what you mean that it can be "fixed". was it "broken" not trying to be obtuse, just looking for clarity.
the rest of ur sentence made little sense to me at all. i feel that may have been the point, chalking it up to an NDA. unit is hot and takes close to 10 min. to heat so i doubt it's a "Plus". as i am sure i'd have had to pay more.

    Blahblahblah: :)

It never broke, but there has been some concern about the fragility of the cord at the base of the unit. I assume due to that collar and button, that if something was to happen and it broke, it's modular and VX would be able to repair it....remember before, it didn't matter what happened to it - they said you were out of luck if you broke it (outside warranty).

I have reported many findings of my latest Cloud, but i'm sure many others have the same production line. It heated up FAST (well at least the light turned green) in like 5 mins or less at noon, the temp firmware was vastly different from my other 3 Clouds (2 tick 1 non), the collar mentioned, the 90 min. auto shutoff timer (AFAIK I am the ONLY one that has reported this), and the rest I won't disclose. I think the Cloud Plus will contain some intangibles...just my opinion, nothing in stone...standby for the "big annoucement". T minus a week!

Now I am totally fucking confused. I just got my cloud too - and all SM said that there was an announcement coming soon about an addition to the product line that would comfort all of us skeptics. All of a sudden everyone is speculating about wtf a cloud plus is. Removable cord, quicker heat up time, something similar to apple care, we've seen it all. Can't we all just enjoy the cloud until the announcement comes? I'm going crazy here thinking I should have fucking waited before purchasing meanwhile cloud plus could be nothing more than fucking greener methods of shipping for all we know. I am going to go get myself some of those bands - they look like a huge help.

VXC - Keep doing what is what you do and bring us fucking fog machines!

Why are you so confused? For someone who just received the Cloud you do seem quite hostile dropping so many F-bombs. There is no speculation, some members already have the Cloud Plus and know exactly what it is. Relax, we're just excited about it and Bob wanted some clarification about the cord, that's all man. In the meantime, feel free to share what you think about your new toy :)

i wouldn't say he's being hostile, or rather that language isn't necessarily an indicator of emotion. this is fuckcombustion, some peeps just like to fuckin' cuss ;). just a lot of data out there.
for the record we both have the new cord
similar heat up times, but he has no external heat issue as i do.
i "think" they've implemented some changes gradually to the baseline cloud
and that the plus has this improved heat up time as well as other possibilities that i hesitate to speculate on.

Trust me - I have no hostility towards anyone here and excuse my f-bombs - with 3 kids running around this is the only place I get to speak freely, even if it's typed. My biggest gripe and maybe its just me, but due to my unfortunate case of VAS I tend to suffer from speculation as it usually results in mileage on my wallet. My cloud heats up rather quick IMO, has the upgraded cord with the snap on the collar for what I assume means easily swapped out if necessary. My cloud also doesn't get extremely hot on the outside and I can tell as I chose to keep her naked and not add the sticker/heat shield. Does this mean I have a cloud plus? To be quite honest - It doesn't really matter to me whether I do or not as I absolutely LOVE my cloud either way. Can the conclusion be that this impending announcement wont mean that I'm going to spend unwarranted money? - fuck no, im an idiot! At least that's what my wife says....

I had a bad feeling about the way the cord connects internally to the Cloud and noted it in this post back in July 2012.

mvapes - you can vent to us, brother. Enjoy your Cloudification, my friend. You're in for many great vaping sessions.

I'm also a VAS sufferer--got a far worse case of it than you'd think a simple unfrozen caveman like me would get. But gosh darn it, I just can't get enough of these badass vapes!

As straight tubes are dying (just SSFG lines remaining AFAIK) and new HTs have a male joint on top, I think that the best way to keep straight tubes prefering people satisfied would be this mouthpiece:
I think that when VXL came with that bottom umbrella splashguard, they could do a comeback to ice pinches here. (as with SSFG line)
Just a VXL 2.0 tube needed, attach with keck-clip and one would have a straight tube with everything.

Another possibility is recessed joint (and more umrella-like splashguard), that would make keck-clipping impossible and would collect some water from HT before sending it back (unless prefilled). But it would prevent water from ice melting to go down so it would make great "just ice" mouthpiece with Cloud alone, cool and tasty. :mmmm:
