Thats right, own that thing!!! Thats yo Bi***! LOL, you did good!

Just got my new Koa LB got from Julie @ MF, oh she fixed me up, I really dig the darker wood than the normal Maple, I think the koa gives it depth and richness, IMO its a way better specie than the rest they offer, the walnut maybe close. Had to accessorize it with my own Eds Koa LB Stem. Its a beauty and thanks again for all you all do at MF to bring joy to us all!

Thanks for the Welcome JD, I really like the bottom pic you posted above that has the colorful background that really gives you a real perception of how beautiful your unit is, a hella match!

I didnt realize that the exotic LB's were so few, is this the case? I knew there were a few other flavors out there and had some pics posted, does anyone know what the # of the run was on these exotics? A few hundred or a few 1000? Just curious how many was made.

Oh you must! You will definitely not regret it.

I resisted for a long time thinking that I didn't need it. I had no idea how much I would like it. Now it hurts to be without it.

I know this because something fell on the wall wart and busticated it. I contacted Magic-Flight to see if the marvelous even-if-you-break-it warranty applied to the PA and if not, could I buy a new wall wart only since that was all I needed. The delightful Delia put a replacement in the mail immediately, no charge. What other company would do this?

It arrived yesterday and I am back in LB heaven. Don't get me wrong, I love it with batteries too, but the PA really does take the LB to another level.

Last night I came to terms with my issues with my MFLB. I pretty much got my "technique" down since I've had the box since October of 2010, but never really considered the importance of the batteries and how weak they were after a year of constant use. So my "perfect" technique/draw speed from December of 2010 was not perfect at all for December 2011, as I found out last night. I left the battery in the launch box for much longer before starting to draw and I finally got 2010-quality enjoyment and realized how stupid I was for pretending everything has been alright with my launch box for the past half-year.

And then I took a few more great hits and realized, shit, I've never used this box to its full potential, because I've never felt better than I do right now. I always want it to be this good, how can I make that happen?

Anyways, I decided to do some research and was ready to buy powerex 2700s when I figured, you know what, fuck it. I'm going to buy the power adapter eventually, let's just do it now. I ordered it a few minutes ago and am super excited. Feeling like it's going to be a whole new experience, almost like getting high for the first time. I sure hope it arrives before Christmas.

I know of 3 as of right now. Pakalolo has a Walnut or Koa box that was a gift from MF for doing the Vaporpedia entry. My Zebrawood box was a gift for some of my early PA videos. And then there's your Koa box. I'm sure at some point MF will offer some in different woods (at a higher cost of course, as the exotics are much harder to work with, wait who am I talking to again? ) but right now they are very limited. :D

Some of the earlier LB's were made out of birch but now they are all maple, I think

I've seen the 'JDSupreme' you-tube video w/the home plug-in adapter for the MFLB and I was wondering if they make one that plugs into a car-adapter? People have told me that because there is no power drain, you get some killer rips.

video?

paytonpenn,
So I did a routine cleaning of my Launch Box when I witnessed something rather.... Odd.

I don't keep a Pneumatic-Hard press on the battery, and I've stopped every twenty seconds before burning off any more residue. Well my method proven decent until I seen the brown stains get more and more faint. I know these are nothing to complain relentlessly about but I've contemplated inspecting the calibrated output...

If the Box's power output did in fact spike dramatically, someone please send me to get institutionalized.

Thank you for your input JD, I went by the MF website and saw that they are doing a giveaway there for a KOA LB, they say there that it was a short run of these but doesnt say just how short. I would think the walnut has to be badass also. I remember being told they started out birch and yes they are maple now. I am really digging my koa, its the shit! I have a couple big blocks of two tone amboyna burl, one as large as 35lbs. oh how badass would LB's would be made out of those.

I felt the same way when I got the AC adapter, haha. I've always thought that the batteries were fine until I tried the AC adapter. It totally knocked me on my ass, I recommend you get it. It makes the launch box a portable desktop vaporizer. The price seems a little steep, but with the premium customer service you get, it's worth it.

I remember someone was asking about what box fits the LB best, I found these at the DollarTree store. $1 comes with cough drops and a LB case that fits: 2 battery, and cleaning brush ;) If you can't find them, they should be available at walgreens.

Got the sucrets box thanks to this post! Funny that the only Sucrets they had in my supermarket is the "Herbal" one - so it looks sort of interesting - especially with the big "Herbal" title on the box.

Works super! I searched the whole supermarket high and low high for a better box, or container, and even the Altoids simply won't work. This is the only thing I could find that works in a whole friggin supermarket.

Thanks for the really good idea!

I have a walnut MFLB :) anyone else or am I the only one at all :ninja:

You're not alone, not to worry. I like mine very much, although I find it harder to see inside it as it's darker. It also came with the older style bigger bulb (which if I recall right had shorter life span). The serial number series doesn't match my other LBs.

My S/N starts with LExxxxx. I assume yours is the same?

Mine is less than a year old and has the newer style air groove and small light, but not the lid clasp

My koa LB's serial number is LE-xx-xx. It has the newer wide air path but I guess it's the older light, since as far as I can tell it's the same size as the light in my older birch LB. It also has the copper-clad heating coil rather than the newer stainless steel.
