I jumped onto the orbiter band wagon fast. Quite pleased.

Have a milk video using the MFLB:

Pardon the shaky camera its hard to get a good milk and hold a phone, a MFLB and PA at the same time.

To remove the glass from the base you must slide down the metal band on the two arms. Make sure your glass is dry before putting it back in the stand, wood will mold. The glass is completely round will not stand by itself.

Seems like side closest to exit port wants to percolate more so I find slightly raising the side evens it out.

I find clearing the vapor straight from the exit port without using the whips to be more pleasing. Any ideas for a glass mouth tip?

    No thanks.

New other (see details): A new, unused item with absolutely no signs of wear. The item may be missing the original packaging, or in the original packaging but not sealed. The item may be a factory second or a new, unused item with defects. See the seller’s listing for full details and description of any imperfections.

    Welcom to FC sunnyblaq.
Magic flights first glass release is in a separate league and well worth the money. The piece is small but that is what makes it incredible. I see more expensive versions in the future.

It does not topple over which is very nice.

What would be the road going forward for Magic Flight and glass? Are they usually open about product development? If not lets just speculate, dream mlfb glass.

I just finished my 1000 word essay and finished my outline for my 5 minute speech.

Now its time to load up my finishing grinder, put some water in the orbiter, and plug in my PA. Nothing's better than a victory trench!

Thats the generic verbage from eBay for one of the "new" selections. The user's own descriptions says "
Magic flight launch box power adapter. Never used, in original box.
    "

Probably didn't put brand new because it was already opened. You can also check the pictures he has up. Of course this is still only in considering if the seller is telling the truth - if not, you can probably get eBay to sort things out.

I'm not telling anyone to go ahead and go for it with 100% no risk.. but just clearing up what could potentially be an awesome deal.

If anyone decides to jump on it.. I'd at least send a message out to the seller just to ask questions about the legitimacy and the actual condition so you have evidence of what he replies with in case you do need to dispute it with eBay.

My point exactly and magic flight has the best warranty around so might be able to get it replaced or repaired which is why i mentioned it at all

That's a big "might be" honestly. It could be a PA with no warranty for whatever reason. I'd ask for the serial number and then email MF to verify the warranty on it, at least that way you know directly from them.

Howdy, MFLB bunch! Here is what is happening with my Walnut LB, photo evidence, it wasn't no placebo. I got some relief with a dryer sheet, but now the static's baaaack. It's a bit o' nuisance, and no it's not zero gravity aboard the Space Station, and the serial number checks out (they even admitted me to the VIP club). Suggestions?

It's funny because I'm not haunted by static in this house, the humidity varies, but not say 30%.

Of course it's back, you're wearing the conductive film away (just like in your clothes.....).

While I've no idea how the placebo effect plays into this here (IMO that's something entirely different?), the same 3 options still exist I think: coat it with some conductive layer, replace the cover with a conductor (most likely metal of some sort) or ignore it.

If you want to spend the bucks you can have vacuum deposited films laid down, very thin Tin is sometimes used for things like LCD display (and touch screens) but they too will wear away over time. For use in detector windows in instruments ITO is the traditional solution here:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indium_tin_oxide

Such materials can be bought in bulk form, but abrasion of the film will be an issue I think.
    http://news.3m.com/press-release/co...-alternative-solutions-touch-screen-manufactu

Personally, I'd stick with either the dryer sheet or ignoring it ideas. Good luck.

My dear @OF thank you. I mentioned placebo because several people suggested it never happens. Hence the forensic photograph ;-) So most people never have this problem, I'm just unluckily charged? I'm OK with vacuum deposting a fine film of alternating gold and scandium bands and a spot-welded #10 wire leading to a ground clip --- NOT! Dryer sheets? Dryer sheets. But why is n0b0dy else having this?

@akaye47 that's GREAT! What's puzzling is that herb will combust on a MFLB pretty easily, but it takes a little more than 421 deg F to do that, like the proverbial 451 Deg F. Where were these photos posted/discussed?

I'm still feeling a bit uncertain. What happens when people dab on a nail? What temp is the Titanium at? Why does wax burn on electric coils and not on hotter(?) Titanium or quartz? Is it the violent poof boiling that protects it from burning? Or is Titanium actually not THAT hot. How hot does nichrome/kanthal get? How hot really is the Mau Deeb?

You're welcome. Thanks for the explanation, now I understand why I didn't understand. The Placebo Effect has absolutely nothing to do with this, it's about perception and expectation. I give you a dube rolled with tea and tell you it's top shelf bud. You smoke it and get off even though there's no THC, but you mind tells you there is so you get off. That's the Placebo Effect.

The short of it is, lots of us have it to some degree I think. Speaking for myself I ignore it as it has no real effect and changes the next time I shake. Only the bud in actual contact with the mesh counts.

Incandescent metals (or glass for that matter) are plenty hot, 12 to 1500F? It simply overpowers the oil fed it. The oil flashes off like steam from a flash boiler rather than cooking slowly. Near the middle of this page is a chart of tool steel temperatures based on color, Ti and quartz should be similar:
