I gotta say I love how stealthy the LB can be, I went on a trip to NYC with non cannabis friendly family this past weekend and was able to vape without anyone having a clue, even in the back of the van on a few long drives at night.:ninja: It also got my low tolerance cousin completely baked off two hits, he likes it better than smoke. The LB is so handy and its stealth has been proven for me. And I honestly havn't even used it in a few months because I like bigger hits but for certain situations this thing is perfect.

Keep a mentholyptus drop in there too. if stopped, eat one right away, and cough in the face of the cop.
He will smell the "Halls Mentholyptus".. and think "germs' and will respectfully back away. Cops hate germs.

Hey guys! Well, I had been putting off buying one of these for a long time now, I just couldn't see what all the big deal was. Little wood box, convection oven, possible combustion, none of it really sounded like a great vaporizer to me. And though it is the largest thread on this board, it just never was at the top of my purchase and collect list.

I ordered one last week, and it just got here today. I threw the batteries into a fast charger I had laying around and let them charge till they were full. I packed about as much in the oven as I would my T1, just for a good comparison. Fine grind, about half full, I just dropped it in loose, and did not pack it.

I think my experience with my T1 helped a lot with this unit, as micro hitting always get me huge blasts from my T1, so I used the same technique for my first oven full.

I am so impressed with what this thing can do! My first hit was wispy, but very tasty. The second rip was thicker (I slowed my draw just a bit) and still very tasty. My third rip was a lung buser with a killer cloud! I probably got a total of 10 decent rips after a couple of dump n grinds, and am VERY nicely medicated.

Sometimes I hate to jump on the band wagon, just because everyone else is. I have always liked to follow my own path, and often pay the price for my stubborness.

In this case I am so stoked that I finally got past my anti-social behavior and jumped in with everyone else. I now understand why you would want to have a couple of these laying around, it is really a bad ass little unit, and really gets one medicated very well for a small amount of product being used.

I can see this becoming a nice little addition to my pocket for outings, the stealthiness is really incredible. Sorry for being such a heel dragger, you guys were right, I was wrong. You all are very attractive, me not so much. But I am hoping that with my MFLB, my popularity will improve, and with that, my perceived looks.

I think I hear it calling me again ...

Not a bit of it. So now you are part of us. Cool. Glad you made the bus, sorry you couldn't join us sooner but these things happen when folks are being careful, a good thing. However, being behind the rest of the class, we've got some special homework for you to do........

Hey, OF... Why don't you make him memorize Pakalolo's vaporpedia entry like you made me do?

I'm gonna be pissed if you give him the secret handshake too easily...

That's easy, 'cuz I like him better, of course. Then again, I don't really know him, do I?

The handshake is a whole other thing of course, we don't know if he's worthy, do we?

Great to hear, thanks! That's the idea I think, or at least one of the important ones anyway. We're in it to help each other out when we can and get a few laughs in the process (or at least smiles).

The fun bit is behind it all real people are giving up smoking.....how cool is that? Makes you live longer and smell better and lets you save a little weed money....or maybe just move up to that top tier?

Sleep well, enjoy the box, keep the battery charged, the load fine and dry and keep shaking..... Catch you next time, you bring the punch lines?

Mine recently came apart (the trench area came apart, like a tear / hole) they are sending me another 1 :)
Problem i had was i seemed to just use it for after it had been through my PD for about
8 hits 1st , either way i would get combustion slightly a bit now and then , since this isn't possible with other vaporizers i have it puts me off using this so much.

Having said this i did seem to get everything right for a few nights , got some nice vapes before the hole was visible, without combustion, maybe just technique and keeping the batteries as fully charged as possible? am i right?

I only had my first mflb less than 2 months and it went wrong through no fault of my own.

    Wait! What handshake?

    @$&#!

Oh yeah... I use Burton "The Kit". Its like they say, if you have to ask, for what... then you don't need one. Holds the MFLB, 2 batteries, brush, stem and stash tin.

Though, it is a bit more than $5.

This is where I got mine. http://www.dogfunk.com/burton-the-kit

This is how I usually pack, though I don't carry the shorty anymore.

This is great! The new guys can't be you of course (or really 'just like him', try as they might) but at least they the can use the same gear..... And look all the better doing so.

Glad to hear the 'BDV is packing a shortie' rumors are not true.......

Shhh! Little known factoid. I have my own 5' of tubing. I cut my own stems. Any. Length. I. Choose. ;D

So... you just never know. I might be carrying (a shortie). Though my wife insists, size doesn't matter.

And you can take that one, to the bank.

And here I thought the wife wasn't supposed to know there were other sizes? That was before the internet, of course.

I too have a stick of 1/4 tube kicking around somewhere, a couple of bucks for 6 feet of it at the local plastics shop:
    http://www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/plastic_rods_tubes_shapes/clear_acrylic_tubes/141

Handy stuff for sure. I used a piece of it for a new 'rest' on the bird feeder a while back.

The classic way tears seem to start is with physically messing with the deposits near the rails (where the tears start usually). Not necessarily the only way, but it's the one reported here when the owner has a clue to offer. My take is this transfers load (both mechanical and electrical) to the strands at either end of the tear. They might be OK with a strand or two but as the fault spreads so does the transferred load. Or loads really.

As to poor/inconsistent results with the box I seriously discount bud that's had 8 pulls in your PD. It could well be in the 1% range, producing zero output. Combustion, even with such spent bud, should be very rare and easy to avoid in normal uses. It must have smelled and tasted of burn popcorn a lot?

With good quality loads the box should give consistent performance, 'sometimes good, sometimes bad' needs looking into. It might be contact with the ring at the battery, a common issue. The light bulb is the key here to understanding it. What is it showing you?

Another, very important, thing is the herb you load. You want it well ground (so it will flow easily), on the dry side (you have to remove all the water to get any vapor) and properly filled (unpacked to the rails) for the best chances. And shake it regulary to keep fresh material against the screen. Remember almost all the action happens at the contact point. IR and other transfers really only lessen the heat loss at that surface, it's the only thing in there hot enough to make vapors.

There is a learning curve. Some guys will learn faster/easier than others. But as an adult you learn skill sets one step at a time. Children learn stuff (like multiplication tables) becase they were told to do so and repeated it. Not the way we do it, we have to build on what we know already step by step. So 'follow the results' with the vape. Try to repeat that which works again. Get it to repeat so you can control it.

And as the old joke about 'how do you get to Carnegie Hall?' goes......practice, practice, practice.

8 pulls and it works best for me, it's not up to much with nice stuff or whatever i do, i firmly believe my PD is miles better. yes the light was on high on, i have explained in first post ,and im far from stupid (just to add) ok i give up, thanks but no thanks.
Since noone has said "yes the light needs to be at its brighest or change all the times from 3 secs to 8 secs " etc , oh hang on this is doing my head in lol who needs this? selling it.

Damn Of,you pretty much summed up the basic MFLB rules in a single post. Should sticky it for the new comers. Is your background in teaching or science? You not only understand scientific method, but can articulate well enough so even I get it. My money is on multiple personality disorder. Either way, bravo!
Yeah what gives? You and Pak made me send Skittles AND kill a rabbit! I loved that rabbit. Took him off the streets, got him of crack and in return he taught me how to poop little pellets. God I miss that rabbit.

Thanks very much, that was the hope in trying to answer overly broad demands like "Can anyone answer my other question about technique?". Sometimes you connect, sometimes you get blown off. Hopefully someone back in the cheap seats profits from eavesdropping?

Guilty of both, I'm afraid. Misspent youth you know. Back in those days we didn't know any better, we thought we were having fun.....

Thanks again. It's working OK, makes voting harder when the little voices don't stay focused. But we all have our crosses to bear, right?

Sorry about killing the rabbit first. Last time we made it a live chicken, don't ask what happened when we left Stu alone with the chicken......

BTW, the hasenpfeffer was delicious. It gave BDV gas though. Vitolo put ketchup on his......

No, not all of us, BDV is the windy one. And we're not all evil bastards, I'd put Vitolo somewhere between sick puppy and seriously twisted myself. That one's kind of a tough call, you know.

Bad break on the Skittles, though. Then again I'm more of am M&Ms type myself....

Thanks very much for the feedback, very nice to know there's 'collateral damage' going on as well.
