Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

I am interested in an omicron, and i have read that you should put about 0.5 of oil in the cart when you fill it. My concern is that i will not use the the entire 0.5 in one night. It may take me a week to go through 0.5. Is it ok for the oil to sit in the cart for that long and use it a few times a day for about 7 days or will i be losing material.

Also about how many pulls would you say you get off of 0.5 (or one fill) and how many fills does each last before you cannot use them anymore.

Thanks

No problem leaving it loaded, I've got carts loaded for 6 months or more, provided the concentrate is stable, it's still stable.

Your usage will depend on how big a hit you're taking and on the concentrate. Thin stuff like PG goes fast, hard stuff like shatters go more slowly. For most 200 to 400 hits per gram is a good number to use IMO. I did a careful test a while ago with nice CO2 oil ('medium thick'), taking timed 10 second hits as full as I could make them ran just about 5 mg per over many dozens. So 100 hits to your half a gram minimum would be my guess?

Cart life depends on not being abused (dry burns, overheating while loading) and concentrate quality. Some are so full of plant material they don't work at all. Some go a very long time (6 or 8 grams), but 2 or 3 grams is probably a good number for planning purposes. I load half grams at a time and retire the cart when it gets too slow rather than by volume of use.

Thanks OF, would you say these are the best carts / atomizer for oils & wax? Also when deciding if you should retire a cart what do you mean by too slow?

After extended use, a cart will eventually begin to slow down in terms of vapor production.

You're welcome. I think 2.4 Ohm Omicron carts at 3.7 Volts (important) are probably the best call for most using good quality extracts. Clean oils and waxes should be fine. Revolution/DART (now out of production and nearly impossible to find) can exceed Omicron at the same power levels and can deal with lower grades. Those carts can also be effectively cleaned and therefore last a very long time.

You have to load them every dozen hits or so, however. 2.4 Ohm Omicrons are recommended.

The brother just above has been faster at explaining slow than I, he wins.

Best wishes,

Rummaging around today I came across five 2.4 carts that I had put aside months ago because they were "slowing down" on vapor production even though weight confirmed there was still product in them.

Just for shits and grins, I tried all of them today with a fresh charged AW 14500 imr.

HOLY CRAP BATMAN !!! Who's the fool who said these carts were "slowing down"???

They are back in rotation. Thank goodness I also keep track of what strains I put in, so it's been nice getting taste treats from the past.

Size is deceptive in photo. Fits over regular cart or Herc?

Yup, what you just said. That simple change can be a serious upgrade in some cases. Really gets it to come alive. Shorter battery life (charge more often) of course, but that's the trade off.

It'll be even sweeter when D9 releases the new shorter tubes, it'll make the whole V2 half an inch shorter (and boost the power over stock doing it).

It's simply a better battery. Not all IMRs are created equal. And here's a case where picking the 'obviously better' 1000 mAh over the lesser 600 one is a mistake at a useful level.

Hey G,

Any info on the Omicron Light? New product or just renaming the O-PHOS?

Thanks

http://www.delta9vapes.com/products.php?product=Omicron-Light-Silver-Essential-Oil-Vaporizer

The Ophos is now only being sold by Vapornation.

The Omicron Light is another entry level Vaporizers.

so what exactly is the Nibbler X? a water attachment?

edit- nm answered in the Persei thread

BTW, if anybody wants to know how to make one of these, PM me, and i'll upload material pics. it's incredibly simple, fully airtight and no glues/epoxies or anything used other than glass, silicon tubing, the autoclavable cap, and an old D9 cart tube ;)

This gave me an idea to make a Nibbler x knockoff while I wait for it to come out!

I've been looking to purchase a delta 9 vape in the near future. One friend has the omnicron while another has the persei. I've been debating between the o-phos and omnicron though and was wondering if anyone could point out any pros or cons of either and compare them if possible.

I don't get this, where do you hit it from? maybe I'm confused but it looks like its all sealed at the top? also what keeps the water from going down into the vape? (i understand its sealed but I mean through the hole the vapor is travelling through into the water, wouldnt it flow back down through it?)

Do you have any other pics from different angles, or perhaps in action (from the side of course, not trying to expose anyone!)

so on the page for the hercules it says there is a fix coming for the omicron v2. can someone tell me what that means? does it currently work? or no?

Same as Nibbler... But with 8 perc holes..
I guess you didn't understand me, your picture makes it look like the tube is sealed at top. the nibbler has a visable mouthpiece. I didn't understand what yours was because I thought the top was sealed shut, it looks like it was.

It might function the same but it sure looked a lot different than the nibbler. Thanks for giving me such a good answer but the amount of perc holes doesn't really have anything with what I was asking you. I just wanted to see it from a different angle or see if there was a mouthpiece..

I get it now after you said it was a ghetto nibbler...

Thanks...

There is, I think, a hole at t he top. Notice the flat on the very end?

Fun idea, but it's depending on the surface tension of the water to not drain down into the Omicron as I see it, I'm not sure that works all that well?

IMO,O-PHOS offers more stealth ,consistent power than its counterpart V2 :-)
