I still say dude's a fu#kin X-man..

..and it's Ok man.. I've never had a fight on the street.. First scrap was in the ring fighting Muay Thai.
I'd stopped toking out for about two years but after I won that first scrap I celebrated with a dirty gravity bong hit:uhoh:..
Wasn't long until I discovered vaping with the EQ .. That converted me, along with one long time smoking buddy :spliff:. Never looked back.
I found that vaping in general leaves me far more motivated to keep up a high level of fitness than combustion.. Also the shitty/no sleep that seemed to plague me when I run out of herb and couldn't for love nor money find any just simply doesn't exist for me with vaping. :smug:.. I can take it or leave it.. And when I DO leave it a few days or whatever the MV hits me like a hammer.

This question is for all of you who have a decarboxilation kit.
I was following the instructions in the following video by vapefiend in the UK, and I noticed my mini had the screen at the bottom, and the two rings stacked on top of each other, instead of the screen sandwiched in the middle by the two rings.
I have a black mini from Vapornation, and after hearing some of the issues with them makes me think that quality control was not very good in those, I guess.
Has anybody encounter the same issue? Where the two rings are stacked on top of each other, and the screen at the bottom?

Here is the video from vapefiend.

Now I'm thinking, should I instsll the new kit the way I found the pieces? or should I follow vapefiend advise?

My old black unit and new gold unit are like the video shows, which is proper. Not sure I'd use their chosen tool for removal though.

This makes me a little concerned as to the structural integrity of the device.

It shouldn't be that responsive to static shocks IMO and worried much worse could happen if more static was built up.

Do we have photos of a cracked open miniVAP?

I still want to join team miniVAP but the darn thing has so many quirks for the price tag.

well, fwiw, i'm using it tonight and it seems just fine, so it doesn't seem to have damaged it. I threw that stupid plastic chair out though…how dare it try to break my new toy! I mean, it's really hot and dry in my apt right now because of old radiators blasting, and the discharge was right next to the buttons (a few mm away on each side). I doubt you are likely to encounter that situation in most places, and I doubt that I will encounter it again now that the chair is gone.

Here is the video from vapefiend.

wow, he is being really brash with that screwdriver…the scraping sound when he removes the screen *shudder*

Let it heat to Red for 10 minutes, then bring it down the to temp you want. Sometimes if you over pack you end up getting little air pathways forming, ruining whats supposed to be even airflow across all material. You also have to remember that the upper chamber must be heated as well, so long 10+second hits at maybe 80% lung pull capacity should do.

-Grind material fine but not powder (The grind is immensely important on the MiniVap)
-pack full bowl but still "springy" to the touch (where you feel you could get another pinch in if you wanted)
-Long consistent pulls (which is really hard without a water piece)
-Preheat vape on red

Sometimes mine will say its at temperature, when its really not. I can tell by pulling, and seeing if its uncomfortable to the lips. If the MiniVap lied, unscrew the battery, re-screw, let it reheat.
Many thanks for these excellent suggestions! I tried them and can confirm I'm now getting fat rips with the large basket, too.

One more suggestion for Scottg420: instead of dropping the basket into the MV chamber, try using it connected with with flexicone.

Testing again today. The efficiency of this thing is unreal.

Here's my routine:

Turn the unit on at blue. Let it pre-heat for 6-7 minutes.

Fill the small basket full with a fine (not powdered) grind. Attach to flexione+

Blue session: 4-6 lightly visible vapor hits after 1 or 2 light pulls to heat the contents of the basket. This is so flavorful it's intense.

+ button up to pink: 4-6 visible hits

+ button up to green: 4 very visible hits (these are a bit harsh)

+ button up to red: 1-2 lightly visible hits (also a bit harsh - but not awful)

+ button again to cycle back to blue. hold both buttons to shut down.

let cool for 5 minutes, open lid, remove basket, examine ABV (comes out much lighter than one would expect after all those hits - light brownish, sometimes with little flecks of dark brown).

Overall I feel a more *complete* range of effects and balance of actives with this vape. Pretty cool.

X2. I feel bad as my (expensive) Herbie sits a lot cuz I love the miniVAP flavor so much.
But my wife has poor inhale technique so the Herbie with fan assist works for her

I'm amazed at how much I use Goldy with Herbie sitting right next to her. I know I'll come back to Herbie later for a while. It's fun being able to rotate vapes like that and they feel brand new again.

So after a couple days with my new MV, I'm wondering if the temps on mine are set higher than most. The only usable temp for me is blue. After the unit heats for 3 minutes from a 70 degree room, it turns solid blue. I immediately get huge milky hits which are great, but if I use a higher temp I get toasted popcorn taste from the second hit on.

Using the large basket I get 5 or 6 nice milky hits on Blue. The ABV is thoroughly toasted at that point.

I do really enjoy these hits on Blue but I feel a little left out that I can't get a lower temp for the more flavorful hits like others are describing.

Okay so how do you charge this thing? Is it supposed to be separated when the battery is on the charger or is it supposed to be connected?

Maybe you get the Minidab and not the Minivap.....it's a joke! I think you should contact Hermès Medical (manufacturer) cause flavor is the better pro of the MV imo!

I actually did contact Hermes Medical yesterday but haven't heard back yet. Thought while I was waiting for a reply I'd see if anyone else had experienced a hotter than normal MV. If I were a dabber it might be perfect!

The metal part of the top separated from the black plastic part after the first few uses too. Maybe I got one from the troubled batch.

I'm a little confused by the contents of what the minivap comes with. What else would I need to get to use it with a waterpipes?

It don't comes with any adaptater for water tools, but it's easy to make a DIY glass adaptater (I make one with an unusued combustion bowl) or you can use it without the cap àla RogerD (so you don't need anything except a reducer to fit the silicone cone+basket).

Thanks, can't believe there's no WPA solution for this vape yet though honestly! Really want to hit minivap through a jhook. So I should get a 14 to 18 to use it in a 18 piece with the basket in flexicone?

Also am I mistaken in understanding that the larger and small baskets both will fit ELB tops? I might still have 1 or 2 ELB left.

There is a glass adaptater on their store (not included in the kits) and yes you need the reducer with any 18mm water tool.

Elb tops (smaller part) fit the silicone cone as a basket BUT it works less good since the air can avoid to go through your flower and prefer the easier way on the side (cause the MV basket is larger to avoid this issue, it was designed to work with the MV, even if it's a very simple part)

I would be hesitant to use it on anything other than the lowest setting, and only if that isn't harsh. The heater wasn't designed to go much hotter than it currently does, and hotter settings could damage it.

Really want to hit minivap through a jhook.

Unless you have a monster j-hook, that would be an unwieldy setup.

So I should get a 14 to 18 to use it in a 18 piece with the basket in flexicone?

Yes.

As others have alluded to yours is actually acting the opposite of what those of us with faulty units were doing.

I don't know if you caught it or not in earlier comments, but Hermes was having issues with the contact link on their web site, it may have been corrected, but folks were getting quick responses by just using/entering the contact email directly.

Not sure...
Last time I spoke to Kyle he said I was approved for a replacement and that it would be shipped to me, no mention of dates etc...
No e mail yet either...

How did it work for your replacement?

Have I mentioned how much I miss this vape lately?? LOL!!

FYI....my glass piece arrived from Vapornation yesterday. No email it that it shipped and web site still said processing....but here it is in my hands. Call/contact them to get an update is my advice. My bet is it's on it's way to you.
