Finally managed to talk to Kyle at Vapor Nation about my MiniVap!!!

He had to get authorization from Hermes first and it is being shipped to me soon!!!

Unfortunately they only have Silver models in stock BUT they are the latest version that they just received!!!!

Kyle told me they are no longer selling the black units they have in stock since they have had a lot of issues with them.

Hopefully be here by Christmas if I am lucky...

Good one I just ordered from the same guy who told me the same thing. I think it may have been more then a update it was something about the lights and heating problems? Personally I would have preferred the black to silver but because the silver had the update and because it would have taken at least another week before other color/s then add that to the Christmas rush on the "docks" I would be pushing it to get here (Aussie) before Chrissy so just went with the silver. One thing I would have preferred would be using DHL as opposed to USPS since I remember having my Silver Surfer sitting on the "wharves" for nearly 4 weeks before they could find a spot on the plane or some crap.. I thought the MV came with a whip tube??

OK, picture time for you miniVAP virgins. I'm not great with pics but wanted to show some of the multitude of ways to enjoy it.

Straight draw with 2" hard mouthpiece and flexicone basket module. Similar technique would be with flexicone + which has the 8" flexible whip for some extra cooling.

You can start on low/ med low temps here and then take 3 seconds to move the basket to a water piece. I just cleaned my Mobius Ion with PBW and left it empty for picture. Works great for different effects at med/ high temps.

Another option if you want to leave the mV cover on is the MFLB Magic Flight Launch Box whip.
Disconnect the hard mouthpiece and push on MFLB tube.

Just some pictures of options and there are many more coming out all the time. GONGS and SONGS and DONGS and BONGS and I might design a miniVAP THONG, cuz it's so sexy......

Tell ya what, if yours is chugging along problem free and works consistently you have a good one.

@kimura Also remember that mine acted weirdly right from the start and only got worse.
And mine was that weird two tone almost unfinished black look to the heater section.

All other MV's i have seen have been the same finish sot he battery and the heater section match.

I think mine may have skipped a few steps somehow in the manufacturing process...

As @Smknbud says, yours is going strong and doing it's job!

Damn, I got no setup going!

I'm running stock right now. Large basket dropped in. Flexicone with screen through the lid with the plastic mouthpiece.

Yes I'm sure there are better setups which I've seen here and intend to modify but I just haven't had time to research/purchase the supplies.

Taking a full battery off the charge. Bump it to green and let it warm for at least five minutes (after the light stops blinking) and great taste by no vapor. Bump it to red and just barely whispy vapor.

Is this thing defective or what?

Use the flexible silicone piece in place of the hard one. The screen snaps in as does the rim of the basket creating a 'basket module'
Seals better than the hard plastic one.
Also makes it a doddle to switch your non existent set ups over.
If it's still giving nothing then yeah that to me would class a faulty as

This is how my old unit acted when it was failing. It acted like it was functioning normal but was in fact not heating up correctly. My replacement is worlds apart and performs as it should. My advice is send it in for a checkup to Hermes or just get a replacement.

I remember someone mentioning that Hermes said they ran into some QC/production issues, I think it was when they were moving/switching production??????, had occurred and were aware of a possible less than up to snuff batch (I hope I'm not making this up as I go along here I swore I read it somewhere in this thread) that I think some of us reluctantly were subjected to. The good thing is that Hermes and Vapornation will readily replace without any objection.

That is exactly how my old unit worked...

First use in BLUE I got massive clouds and was very impressed with its performance.
Consecutive sessions were not as good till finally after 3 or more heatings on RED and extremely whispy vapor output I decided to send it in.

Defective unit.
Vapor Nation no longer selling the black units they have in stock due to issues.
They have silver in stock and they are the latest version with a few updates.

I would try a RED heat setting, if results are the same open a ticket and get it replaced.

This has happened to me a couple times now so I'm going to check on sending it in.

I will report back.

My luck sucks with new vapes lately. My brand new ESV is also in for service.
Good thing I have plenty of other vapes to keep my going!

Edit: Should have reiterated that I ended up having my third and current(and awesomely awesome) Black unit(or 'core') as you will see they seem to refer to it as such in this dispatch note, sent directly from Hermes HQ in Spain, but dealt with by Vapefiend directly.

Just like smknbud inferred there was apparently some quality control issues caused by a moving of premises.
The Core I have now works a dream. Wasn't from the poopy batch
I have no numbers or hard data for ya man. Get one. You need things like pucks and cores and Uhm lids , not to mention all things flexi and cone in your life. Trust me .. I do it all the time .
I got some of the infrequent high grade today and this is what MVing is all about. Lesser grade works great for getting medicated but unless I'm in direct sunlight I'll never really see huge clouds anything like I can with some higher grade material.. I envy you colaradians

If I purchased straight from manufacturer, do I have to send it to Spain for repairs? Seems like a select few have problems with their minivap.
