It still amazes me that they can buy the raw materials, pay the labour and running costs to produce it, and then ship it half way around the world, all for such a ridiculous price....
    How...?????

I'm glad to hear about your experience with Arizer vaporizers. It makes me feel smart for getting my Solo 2 blue vaporizer. I think the OG has extra value for you based on a history of experiences. But for me the Solo 2 has a better shape, improved convenience of recharge , digital readout to 1 degree, and blue color choice. I would not have bought the OG; but I'm so happy I bought the Solo 2.

For me the upgrades to the Solo 2 was worth buying. Plus my old two Solo OG's had batteries that were down to about 40 min vaporizing time. So eventually I would have paid the $45 and bought a new battery if they hadn't come out with the newer Solo 2. To be honest I didn't look forward to tearing the Solo OG apart to switch out batteries.

All the way from the shape to the kick ass battery this unit has been upgraded. The battery lasts past 2 hours of use and hasn't degraded much at all either. With the light up temp display and choosing your exact heat to Fahrenheit or Celsius. This portable has the ability to change your timed sessions and with an opened airflow. It's like a whole new unit.

The stem doesn't fall out when you turn your unit up side down. I figured eventually the stem would get wobbly but it hasn't yet. My stems still fit tight. I can't use all the stems from my older Solo because some are too tight. So Arizer is wrong about promising that. I've had my unit since June and I feel like I'm still on my honeymoon.

Some folks need a vaporizer in bed with them so this unit would be ideal for that.

Closer to Thanksgiving or even Halloween we should be seeing some great sales. Especially Black Friday.

Best of all it has the great build, flavor and dependability of the Arizer brand.

The Solo II looks like a great unit for home use when I have my GonG with me, or for camping because of the long battery life. I remember my old OG Solo's battery degraded to the point where it would only heat for 12 minutes before dying, about 1 session. Hopefully the battery doesn't degrade that much in my experience in the future. :suspicious:

I finally made it to the post office to send off my Solo II for repair or parts. I've been rocking the OG Solo this week - and its awesome, but it ain't no Solo II.

Arizer said it'll take a few days once they receive mine to send out a repair or replacement.

The customer service team has replied promptly to all my emails but hasn't shared any details as to what the code means.

My stem is looking pretty gnarly

    man, this error5 thing blows.
the solo OG was such a reliable unit.
the solo2 is improved in so many ways but you also get this vulnerability the OG solo doesn't know.

We've had about 3 or 4 FCers with Error message on their newer Solo. Not sure what the overall warranty rate involving the Solo 2?

Folks can email Arizer if you have questions regarding this problem before you decide to buy. Hopefully they have found the issue before sending out newer units. That's what I would be concerned about if I were just buying one.

It's important to read and find out enough info about any vaporizer you want to buy. It's a big investment for some folks.

I'm assuming that the Solo II's battery will require a higher amperage and voltage than the original OG Solo's battery, although I do not have the OG Solo and Solo II to actually look at the numbers. So it could possibly damage your OG Solo's battery because of the higher amp and voltage allowances, but again I do not have the specs of either. @OF?

I haven't tried personally to use the older model charger with the newer model Solo 2 or tried the older style Solo OG with the newer Solo's charger. I don't want to do damage to my vaporizer 's battery.

I put some fingernail polish on my Solo 2 charger - just a clear polish dot so I don't get mixed up with my chargers.

Yep. Same connector, polarity, voltage (12VDC) and more available current than the Solo I charger. Those are the keys (fit, voltage, polarity and at least enough current available). The charging circuit in Solo will only use as much current as it needs (about .8 Amps for Solo I, 1.2 for Solo II), extra capacity is just not used like the extra capacity in the power lines isn't used by your house unless you need it.

Charging the Solo II with the Solo I charger, OTOH, means a potential current overload on the charger. It should be well protected from such abuse, but I recommend avoiding it. Car cords should do fine since they have the car's battery capacity to call on.

Anyone who has received an error code has been asked to send the charger as well as the vaporizer in for repair.

They also ask for the information from the tag on the Solo II charger to be emailed ahead of time. As well as colour and serial number.

I have seen maybe a half dozen people mention Error5 online, and around the same for the Error7. It seems like very few units are running into trouble. The errors seem equally split between the black and blue units.

@CarolKing I put a tiny sticker on my Solo I charger as a reminder not to mix the chargers up.

There is a page worth of discussion in the Arizer Air II thread on lubricated glass joints and other hacks for gongs.

Thank you to everyone who contributed! (I know this is the wrong thread but Solo II members deserve the knowledge as well)

The is exactly what my glass needed. Those joints were starting to get a little sticky but smooth sailing now.

I used mineral oil on two of my pieces and underbutter on the others (mineral oil and bees wax). Curious which will be better in the long run.

I don't know why, but I prefer to use a plastic tip with my Arizers. You can safely clench your teeth on a tip. The far left tip is from the Air. The ones to the right are used plastic tips from disposable oil cartridges. The plastic tips don't always fit. I think a tip from a Meerschaum pipe would be cool.
