Smell is minimal the times Ive made them so far.. just smells strongly of peanut butter when you heat it. It would start to put off more of an odor as it heats up though, possibly losing actives if you get it too hot. If smell is that big of a deal in your situation I would just be careful with the heat.

Or look into making peanut butter by letting your abv + pb mix sit for a period of time to "do it's work", no heat involved. I have heard people say this before, it seems plausible to me. I think an experiment is in order...

When I made mine I noticed a faint hint of bud smell but it was overpowered by the smell of peanut butter. It smells kind of like funky peanut butter. It didnt linger long either in a room with ventilation.

I cooked my mix at 70% power in the microwave btw, I didnt want it erupting.

I've been wondering the same thing. Once I restock on natural pb a jar will be whipped up. The plan is to let the mix sit for a week in the cupboard, at least. And test periodically.. mmm testing. I figure if the "no heat" approach turns out to be a flop, I can just spoon my dose out of the pb jar and microwave it like usual :brow:

I followed the original recipe and all I gotta say it that launched me into outer space. It was that intense. It took 90 minutes to reach full effect but when it did i had to lay in bed and close my eyes. It was way too much as I got sick and felt my heart race for about 30 min. Then for the next 8 hours I was trippin the hardest I've been in my life. Next time I'll try quarter as much. It should be plenty. I had no idea ABV weed could be that powerful. . It felt different too. It was more of a body high then a head high.

Thanks for this recipe! I can't wait to try it, since my last attempt at using ABV (firecrackers) went very badly. This sounds like it'll be pretty good, and I'll finally have an excuse to use my new mini-blender. :)

What are the chances I can successfully make this with skippy peanut butter? That's all I can get here and I'm at college.

Just go for it man, the "natural" peanut butter, is personal preference.

Ok, cool. Since I don't have a blender, I was thinking of throwing the mixture into a bowl, mixing it around and then tossing in some whole milk.

I got the microwave so I should be all set, right?

Natural peanut butter is preferred because the fats in it are superior for absorbption. I'm guessing it will work just fine with normal peanut butter if that is all that's available, I wouldn't be afraid to try.

Skippy also makes natural peanut butter, it had the highest fat at the local grocery and was on special :)

So, theoretically, could I just dump a 1 or 2 gs in some peanut butter, leave it in the closet for a day and then take a spoonful or two and feel the effects? I am seriously considering this..dont care how it tastes.

mattstermh, yes theoretically that would work. the psychoactives that you want are lipid(fat) soluble and will bind to the fat found in peanut butter. heating just speeds up the process. if you're going to go with your idea of leaving it in the closet, stirring the peanut butter a few times throughout the day should help with this process. just make sure you use ABV or herb that has already been decarbed.

Yes that should be plenty decarbed.

So, I'm thinking soy lecithin might be worth experimenting with in peanut butter. Google tells me all these great things about it.

I put about 1.5 grams of abv in peanut butter two nights ago. At this point it should be really ready, right? What if I go another week?

Heat expedites the binding of peanut butter to cannabis. 325 fahrenheit or around for 20-25 minutes. One could eat cannabis not heated (heated to dissolve the THC and cannabinoids into the fat) with a stomach content that is fatty (such as mixed in peanut butter) but it won't yeild the efficiency like heating in an oven, microwave, toaster oven, etc.

Plus vaporized cannabis isn't as readily potent as unvaporized cannabis since oils have been vaporized.

But if there isn't going to be any heating done to dissolve the two into one than it seems like something such as coconut milk/olive oil/peanut oil might work better than peanut butter.

Also, I think there's confusion between decarboxylation and bonding of cannabinoids (like THC) to fat, alcohol or solvents like hexane. Decarboxylation converts an inactive THCA into an active THC. Decarboxylation is when cannabis is demoisturized from its raw state after it was harvested through air-drying or heat, etc.

Eating on an empty stomach accelerates digestive processing apparently which intensifies the highness.

Tried this recipe out yesterday and these are my findings . . .

About me: been using cannabis for over 20 years now and I am 6'4" and 250 lbs. Definitely not a lightweight lol.

I followed the op's recipe exactly as written. I used regular old Kraft Smooth peanut butter and added 1 cup (250 ml) of milk. I did not let the mixture cool as I wanted to work with it while it was nice and runny so the warm temperature was kind of off-putting. My girlfriend and I both agreed that adding a frozen banana next time would be a great addition both for flavour and temperature. The taste was quite pleasant, mostly peanut buttery with a hint of toastiness from the ABV.

So we drank our shakes at 9:30 a.m. on empty stomachs and went downstairs to wait and see . . .

At 10:15 I was texting with my brother when I started to feel a nervousness in my stomach. At the time I was thinking, hmmmmm, it's almost like I just ate mushrooms and the trip is just about to start. No sooner did these thoughts cross my mind when a tsunami of feeling erupted from my inner core and rolled like a wave throughout my body. Suddenly I was flushed with energy and my heart started to race! Like, seriously, it went from 0-60 in a blink of an eye! I'd be lying if I said I didn't freak out, because I did lol! I ran upstairs to get a drink and came back downstairs to try and ride it out.

Fortunately, the racing heart slowed down after 2 minutes and I calmed down. I was then awash in a tingly, floaty body stone FOR THE NEXT 4 HOURS!!! I was totally couchlocked the whole time, just laying there unable to do much of anything. Even playing video games felt like work lol!

Around 5 p.m. I left to go to a BBQ and it took every ounce of willpower just to get off the couch . . . and this was 8 hours later!!!

Unfortunately the burnout with this method was very, very severe. While we were driving to the BBQ my girlfriend and I both agreed that we felt "slow, almost stupid" lol. Around 8 p.m. last night I was already unable to keep my eyes open so we called it an early night. Got home around 9 and I did not pass GO, I did not collect $200 . . . I just flopped into bed, blinked once and opened my eyes 11 hours later! Wow!!!

So, in summary . . . thanks OP for providing the community with a stupid-easy recipe for utilizing our ABV. The recipe works!

Welcome to FC, and i love your nick haha tree.fitty. you aren't a dragon i hope? ;)

    great lil recipe man!

one comment, abv is already decarboxilated and should be ready to eat already I'm not sure the heating process is really needed?

Sup guys, my first post here are alot of lurking. This recipe is appealing but I have no microwave, just an 'AGA' with unknown preset temperatures that are probably too high. Anyone know is weedemon is right? Im looking to try 4grams AVB with a gram of fresh bud mixed in if it has to be heated anyway.

lol I was thinking bout this just now- I'm about to have a shake this afternoon. It does sound true, but just recently I've doubted it- when you look at the actual times needed to fully decarb the THCA content in lab testing it's vastly different to the time it's exposed to heat whilst vaporizing. I'll see if I saved the figures I was reading.....
