Three labs, same concentrate- 85.3%, 79.4%, and 32%. Anyone who can guess what labs gave what numbers gets a cart(full) on me. Must be at the HighTimes Cup to get prize.

I would love to speak my mind on the question at hand but it wouldn't be good for business.

Hmm well I'm guessing the highest came from the lab Elemental uses, the second from the one Harborside uses, and the last is from one no one uses hahaha

The first two are really pretty close together, and could well be within normal distributions, the last value makes a guy kind of wonder though, doesn't it?

There's a lot of resolution stated, but I'm not sure about calibration or even precision, I suspect it's nowhere near .1%.

As Mae West once famously was to have said 'you pays your money and takes your choice'.....

Well since there is no industry standard controls, and i doubt any correlation is done between labs its going to be hard to get any result thats worth relying on.

When i ran a lab we had industry standard controls, and always correlated with other labs to make sure our machines where working correctly.

Some modest double blind testing should easily do the deed. But there has to be a will to have that happen. As the industry matures I suspect demand from the Medical Users will force the issue up the list. In the 'better' dispensaries testing is becoming commonplace. And we're starting to question the accuracy of that testing. Both huge, positive changes. And consider the quality and number of strains available.

Competition is good.....

That's funny, I thought I picked my color (black) when I ordered, but no big deal, sorry to make you call me anyway.

We should go to a bar, juice or liquor(your call), and have a chat. I would love to pick your brain! You are also void from my contest because I told you but if you promise you forgot I'll let you enter.

Well competition is good, but when its blind people racing thats another question you know your gonna have a :o moment.

This is how i see it happening.

Sooner or later you will have one laboratory claiming they can get 100% thc and other cannabinoids then they will start making controls with it, and then marketing it to other labs.

Now if the state was smart ( i know i know ) they would through THC testing under some sort of regulation. CLIA was established for this reason for medical bloodwork.

We are about 10 years out before anyone is smart enough to figure it out.

Sounds good to me. Not sure there's much left, pick carefully..... This one seems pretty obvious, and timely. Cool.

I never have been good with names, what's this contest???

Look at my last post or two a page back.

I think you have the juice/liquor bar confused with the Milk Bar, but I forgive you...

Yup... I would have paid to get mine two weeks earlier...

Actually didn't you do just that? I'm pretty sure I did......

Some of us are looking to correct the design defect (voltage reduction) in the original version, having a Persei and other ways to higher voltage getting the advertised output from the V2 (so it at least does as well as the V1 it replaces). This is the still illusive goal.

I understand the logic of having to wait while this unrelated screw up is corrected but it doesn't make the wait any easier to have it extended yet again. And finding out that not all are having to wait.......

They called me a couple times too, even though I only ordered a single matte black HVD... lol

Does anyone know why Elemental has such better test results than Harborside?

For quite a while now, HS flowers are struggling to hit 19% while Elemental has everything above 20% and one at 27%. Harborside:

and the tasty Elemental menu:

And there is just no contest in concentrates, HS stays under 70% and Elemental usually has one or two in the 80's. Harborside:

Just bought the SD wax... :mmmm:

It's been like this for quite a while now and I'm just wondering when the potent growers are going to go back to Harborside as well...

I was wondering the same thing but found the answer.

THC lab testing (Testing the Labs in West Coast Leaf Magazine) showed THC varied by +/- 20% across labs using the same sample.

Harborside founded Steephill labs and still uses them I beleive. Elemental used to use Steephill but now it appears they may have switched to SC Labs or some other lab (maybe they are using steep hills on-site quannacan (they were demoing on 4/20). There are no longer Steephill logo's on Elementals site where as they used to have them on there. SC Labs results always seem on the higher side.

Concentrates are another story. Wish I could find this article but it also concluded that while flower testing was fairly consistent that concentrate but liquid testing was a mess and most services can't get consistent results testing the same concentrate sample twice. So although as an engineer I find +/- %20 horrid thats nothing compared to the concentrate mess evidently.

So bottomline, the difference is changing labs. All Elemental's weed went up 4-5 points in the week they switched about 2 weeks ago.

Here's a tip. Goto CHAI is Santa Cruz they have even nicer flowers than HS or Elemental and their cap is $45. Bring your jewlers loupe and look for yourself. full plump trichs, all indoor, all tested, cured well and $20 an 8/th less HS or Elemental for BETTER meds! I know this is strong statement but I stand by it. These guys have ridiculous top shelf flowers for low prices and wax on sale for $30/g everyday. If anyone knows anywhere in the bay thats has flowers like this for $45 let me know. I don't like driving to SC but its worth it for me.

Lab testing is nice but I can tell you the super high THC weed with a jewlers loupe. The top notch bud in tests always has the full plump trich coverage to match in my experience. use your eyes and nose. Not having a jewelers loupe like this IMO is a mistake..
