You may be right G, but from my understanding, LiPo is just a different manufacturing method that allows for a 20% reduction in weight (foil-type cell packaging instead of hard casing) of any chemistry of Li-Ion battery such is LiCobalt (best power density, most used for planes / helis, such as what I linked) or LiFe (lower voltage, safer). So really it's the same chemistries just with less protection. The RC Car guys use the same batteries as the ones for planes and helis, but in hard plastic cases, weight isn't as much of an issue for them.

Plenty of videos of RC LiPo fires on the tube ;)

Yes but lifepo4 batteries are safer compared to LI ion, have you tried AW IMR? these are better in my opinion offer you 3.7v and safe chemistry.

Yup LiFe is much safer. Some of us use those just to power radio gear, but the most common ones, the ones used to actually power the aircraft are not LiFe. We are talking cells that charge up to 4.2V (LiFe is 3.6V peak), and rated for very high discharges (30C, 60C), pretty sure they are LiMn as I said just above ^^ :)

i did some experimenting with the ethanol winterized BHO (that doesn't want the wick properly)

a gram on a pyrex dish beside a gram a blonde BHO that is very solid at room temp
stand up the dish and warm from behind. the BHO starts melting and running long before the eth washed even starts softening.
my assumption is that the same would be true for QWEt.

next i took this gram of eth wintered BHO and warm mixed it on the pyrex dish with a .5 cap of PureGold.
loaded half into a 1.5ohm and half into a 2.4ohm cart.

the 2.4 worked well after a bit of heat gun.
the 1.5 works so well, i find it hard to believe that any pen style vape can give a bigger hit.

i love my O-Phos very much (and this is not a review written for a contest)

off to the hot springs for gathering of the peace makers

So, according to Mathew, that would make you 'childern of God'? In addition to a general purpose blessed rating of course.

Nice addition to the resume, Jam! Does that go before or after 'vapor consultant' part? Or is it listed alphabetically?

It's an honor to have you leave the safe conduct of the forum, but it's really a bit like asking Evil Kenevil to park your car isn't it?

Have a good holiday, the survivors will anxiously await your return.

Ive had my omicron v2 for about two weeks now, and for the most part love it. I purchased a preloaded cartridge at the dispensary that sold me the unit. I kind of noticed that there is a high "ceiling" with the omicron. Like it will only get you to a certain point(and i have a fairly low tolerance). is this common with the preloaded cartridges? I figured it was cause of the quality of meds in the preloaded cartridge, so i decided to fill my own with real good wax(25$ half gram). I got the cart that came with the unit all filled up, but there is absolutely no vapor being produced. Its getting really warm and i can kind of taste it, but no vapor and no effects. Is it because its a really thick wax thats harder to vape? any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Howdy and congrats on the V2, lots to like there for sure.

First to the feeding. As has been stated above, the most likely problem is 'new guy loading' issues, harder waxes feed just fine normally. The problem comes from the cart being cold as the just warm enough wax flows down, hits the cool part, and 'clots' up right there. You now have an air bubble under the wax, noting is moving and you'll mess it up by continuing to heat it electrically.....stop that! It's not working.

The problem is the wax is cold and heating it will likely trash the seals in the cart. You need to be very careful, it's much easier when the concentrate is in the funnel and you can preheat normally. But here goes:

The seals we need to protect are near the bottom, above the thread insert, at about the 1/3 point. The plug and air bubble just above them, way too close for comfort. And comfort is what we need to use as a gauge. Hold the cart by the bottom half, fingers and thumb below mid point, open end up. Twist the cart back and forth as you heat the tube above your fingers. Keep the cart moving, let it get warm but not uncomfortable under your fingers, the seals are just under there. Keep the heat on the top half, SS conducts heat poorly, it'll take a long time 'coming down' through the wall of the tube. If you feel the temperature suddenly rise, that's the clue the hot concentrate has dropped. In normal loading (where you preheat the bottom then quickly move up to the funnel and heat the load) this cue can work well, but here the change might be too hard to sense. The best plan it to keep it from getting too hot to hold without saying nasty words. Go slowly but keep moving. Expect to take half a minute to do it with a typical lighter.

Then try it again, but remember continuing to heat the dry wick is asking for trouble in a couple of ways. It might start feeding fine....and leaking even better. After trying to melt it down and failing I've inverted it, melted what of the load would come out back out. Let everything cool, scraped the concentrate back into the cold funnel and reloaded again from the start with proper preheating, I recommend that rather than risking too much heat on the seals.

As to the 'high limit' issue, I've got some bad news for you if you're new to vapor? You're taking in THC, even if the concentration is low, taking in more means taking in more. You can get mighty drunk on beer. That's the way it is. Twice the number of hits of half the strength vapor is same amount of THC. What is missing from the process is the poisons that come with combustion, perhaps that's the issue here? The high from vaping the bud rather than blazing it is different.....takes a lot less too.

That should get you started, anyway.

Enjoy the tool, it's a useful one.

OF, this needs to replace a portion of the "official" instructions. If you included a diagram to help visualize I think most everyone would be able to overcome the beginner's issues quicker. The hardest part in the learning curve was understanding the magic inside the cart....once I had that it made sense. Trying to describe it to someone with no frame of reference is difficult at best.

You have done a great job answering questions as the thread has gone along but this is the #1 post for cart info in one spot so far.

Thanks very much for the kind words, glad it helped you out.

I've no control of what goes on any sites save this one in a very minor way, but 'THC is watching' and they're welcome to whatever is posted that's of use to them or their customers.....it's part of the rules here, right?

I think a sectional drawing would be very nice, but that gets you into dicey areas if you don't hold the rights to the product. Photos are probably OK, but I'll leave drawings to guys better positioned and skilled to do that I guess.

Again, my thanks. FWIW I'd love it if someone posted this part as well as several similar bits of trivia about this and other product lines I seem to post over and over.....my fingers aren't getting any faster or younger.....

Glad you're back on tract, enjoy the device and system. Time to start building up a stock of carts. Just last night I opened up my stash and tried 3 different friends from the past. Slept very well indeed.

II kind of noticed that there is a high "ceiling" with the omicron. Like it will only get you to a certain point(and i have a fairly low tolerance).

Not sure what your vaping experience has been, my own has been limited to portable units. When I decided to stop combusting I also fealt that I did not get enough effect from vaping. I realized that the vaping effect is different from combusting, comes on slower and generally not as intense (at least from the devices I tried). This led me to keep combusting part time for a while.

It was not until I got my omicron (v1) that I stopped feeling the need to supplement with a bat hit before vaping. Concentrates definitely gave me more buzz per hit than vaping flower. I recommend giving Pure Gold a try, I have found that if not careful I can get too much effect from that stuff.

The customer service for these products is top notch, and the helpful people on this forum are priceless resource for help. Enjoy your Omi!!!

To enhance the oil vape experience ,an infrequent :ko: blast from a 'nail' ,to supplement

ea session, works for me  ~ at least 'til next mo when final stages of nailcart materialize

Also ,you might want to try the less resistant 1.5's for the slower ignition of heavier waxes :2c:

The "high ceiling" you refer to I find in all vaping when compared to combusting, well at very least a difference. I am not going to type all my thoughts about this, for me combustion gives more body high and vaping gives me more head high and a body high is seemingly easier to identify with for most people where the heady clearer highs are harder to know just how high you are. This is assuming the product you are working with is quality, so comparing the flower to the oil made from the same product will produce different highs when combusted vs vaped. I personally like the experience and clean head "high" from vaping when comparing it to the same flower the oil comes from or even vaping the flower. This all gets into the chemistry of what you are getting from the product and how it effects a user, most oils I have will crush a combustion user but they won't even know it until they have consumed enough to pass them out in a trippy state of mind and for me combusting locks me into a sofa much easier then when that was my main form of use.

Filling, priming, and using oils has a learning curve in my experience and reading here with the Omicron. Soldier on and you will find bliss with this machine.
