Just saw my updated Order Status...

March is now May.
March was February
February was December
December was November
November was September
Ordered July.

Of course they didn't reply to my email.

I'm a June 3rd preorder and mine shows May estimated delivery. New orders still showing May. @BuzzDanklin visit to hopperlabs got me hopeful that they are gearing up for mass shipment and not just stringing us along. Wishful thinking.

Just sharing my experience.
I ordered a GH in November 24 2015 and I am still on the "estimated shipping date" list...Now it's said to be (allegedly) shipped (somewhere) in May.
I thought I should let anyone thinking about buying this pen that they should get something else (if they don't want to be lied to and wait at least half a year- some are waiting for a year now!) or to get their GH from ANYONE BUT HopperLABS.
Even though I don't have it yet, an experience like mine is leading to the unit tasting worst and worst by the day.
So sorry my first post is an angry one, but in my opinion HLabs really can't be trusted and shouldn't do business.

It just makes no sense;
@AgentXero has a June '15 order, and is told "May"
@delloy has a Feb '15 order, and is told "April".

Is that due to the type of hopper (SS, colored, etc)? Mine are Ti and colored (the colors are "April" new orders which of course "will not affect old order delivery", I was told.

Is it just me or is there a tangle of confusion on this system they have for getting orders out?

I know that having your estimated delivery date set back is a pretty routine event for most of you, but it's the first time for me and well, I finally feel like I belong to the "club". Did I really think when I ordered last month that it would be delivered in April? No, of course not, but still I had my fantasies! Luckily I have others....

Its been a tangle of confusion since this whole thing started. From this talk getting ready to release 2 years ago until now with this ready to go any day now. It's been a way to keep orders coming in.

I wish the company well but they haven't been leveling about any time line through this whole process. You will get your unit when you get it, that's what they need to tell their customers. That would be truthful.

And, if you contributed to the original campaign in 2013 hoping to receive the oils front end, or water pipe attachment, or titanium storage tubes, don't bother asking GH for a refund. They are unable to deliver a refund for these things.

I'm a mid-January 2016 order and my estimated ship date has been changed from March 2016 to May 2016. I ordered one of each (SS and plain TI).

Maybe that new machine they just got will change everything. Perhaps, even as we type, the following conversation is taking place at GHL:

Sorry you are frustrated. You are demonstrating a very low level of knowledge about the Grasshopper as a 'new' product, developed via crowdfunding and still in earliest roll-out stage. So, I assume you were under-educated about it when you pre-ordered. However, you, as "pre-orderer" can get your money back any time, just for the asking.
It's been frustrating for scores of people. Can you see how many posts are in this thread? Just showing how long this whole things' been going on. Not too many here need to be warned about the deal at this point. And, btw, HL is the manufacturer, getting it from them or from anyone else would be the same product.

Damn, apparently someone on reddit reported Hopper Labs to PayPal for violating their terms of service regarding pre-order shipping times.

"Paypal has let me know that they escalated matters to their fraud department and are looking into it."

Hopefully this doesn't cause HL too much of a headache because the only thing this will do is delay Hopper delivery even more. I understand the frustration but this type of action really isn't in anybody's best interests.

The product isn't the problem here genius, it's the delivery of it - so getting it from someone else wouldn't be the same indeed: the vapefiend shop for example delivers GHs that he truly has, within a reasonable amount of time, and it shows "not in stock" or smth when the batch he has is gone...like a real business - and the way they lie to customers about it. If they said "you'll get your unit at least 6 months from the day you ordered, so be a f'ing monk till then" I would have know the drill before hand and would not be here talking to an over educated - very high level of knowledge- I know-it-all dude like yourself.
I believe you have to stick by what you're saying, especially in business. I wasn't an indiegogo backer so I went by what they sold on their website: pre-orders shipped two months later. Not 4,6,8... Yeah, like an average customer.
Never had an experience like that with any other vape i own, even with the Crafty which was also brand new when i got it. You can't make excuses for lying like they did about their capacity to deliver.
As for why I don't ask for a refund is 1/ because I don't want to pay more for that unit and 2/ for the same reason you don't stop a tatoo midway: when you start you go all the way .

Hello everyone, new here to FC, joined because of the GH. LOL i thought i did enough research on this thing. I ordered mine 1/17/16. Expected it in March like i was told. I emailed HL late February to see if shipping was gonna be early or late March. Was told my unit was expected to ship at the end of March. Learning today what everyone is going through. Just thought id chime in. I asked HL for a est ship on my unit since my account wasnt updating from March. They said to check my account that they will update it. Well they didnt and plus the initial reply from them they said "Hi Brian, etc...." my name is not Brian and i emailed her back saying my name wasnt Brian and asked to confirm my information. She confirmed my info and said your account has it as est May. Kind of annoyed and peeved. Debating on getting a refund. Lol sorry for the essay.

That is the standard reply email statement when you file a complaint with PayPal. Guess we will see. My worry would be if multiple complaints come in.

@Crow as you can see many, many folks have ordered over a year ago and haven't received theirs yet. You have a long wait a head of you. It could be anybody's guess how long? I wouldnt believe the company's estimates. They are just estimates after all and that's what they will say.

You could order another portable that you could get right away and order a GH when they are selling in online stores. When you can order and get it a week later. That's what I plan on doing, if the company is able to stay a float over time.

For what it's worth, all they did was the keep the same scheme per the last two shipping esitnate updates, where the early ones from the first 3 months like myself were set for the current month, while all other orders were set for the following month (is May now). Easy pattern to follow, its still the we're getting close to mass shipping phase, good news for recent orders potentially...

Anyway my 1/15/15 order is estimated for February, odd how some like @StillFall have gotten there's already when there are still 12/2x/14 orders being confirmed. I've got an SS, and a blue Ti that was added April 2015 (original estimated shipping for my SS order and the Ti) that are supposed to ship together in April still. HL has been very responsive to my emails, some slip through but a basic question usually gets an answer, never bother to give them a hard time over the delays bc i get it, knew what I signed up for, a lot involved, etc.

I'll let you all know when I get a confirmation finally, was told there is a new batch of Ti parts currently being anodized, while more and more SS units are built, they are apparently taking a bit longer being the most popular Hoppers ordered. We'll see what happens, kinda blasé at this point but still hoping for the best, still thinking it'll be worth the wait imo :2c::peace:

Been a while since I've been in here, but yeah wow what a dick :lol:

As I've said before regarding another vaporizer experiencing long delays with limited communication and some bitter pre orders (albeit far far fewer overall), imo there just shouldn't be the same expectations of new companies in the vapor industry (yet) that there are in any other consumer industry. Most of us who have been here a while know this, and many do not ever pre order as a result... To paraphrase George Costanza: there are no rules here, anything goes, its like ThunderDome!

If HL made themselves available for the multitude of concerns we all have instead of just pushing back shipping dates, then people wouldn't get so upset. As of now we all know we can not trust Caroline to give real delivery dates.

But you are correct I hope this does not affect our hoppers.

Seems a little snitchy, but could easily see how someone might genuinely by this stage think it's a case of fraud. Some people with pre orders might have even seen this type of thing before. Sometimes pulling the pin and bailing with the money, or loosing everyone's money is not the initial intention but a result of mismanagement. If you're going to use a company as big as PayPal you have to expect to play the rules and not this cowboy "but we are so innovative" game.
Broke companies can run on investors money until the wheels fall off as long as they can keep up the illusion that the investor will receive their item (be it an innovative gadget, a construction project, returns on share).... Seems like that good will is running out for some people.
Not at all saying HL is guilty of fraud, just that people are well within their rights to report this to PayPal. It might even make them wake up a little, the hype train is dying down and people are getting frustrated.

The thing is if you look at that post on reddit, the guy has cancelled his order, gotten his refund yet still sent a complaint to Paypal. He doesn't think it's fraud he's just angry he didn't get his vape "in time".

Madoff paid some people, I think that he has got a refund shows that he is concerned with the situation at hand and the possibility of others down the line receiving neither refund nor item. While I personally think if you don't have a dog in the fight, stay out but maybe hes just looking out for his fellow vaporist. After all nobody has rang the fraud police, HL chose to use PayPal and PayPal has their own rules and the right to hear about things that have concerned its users.

I have a hard time believing he cares about his fellow vaporists, since if Paypal decides to freeze HL account(which Paypal is known to do), they may no longer be able to pay their staff, pay for shipping my vape, etc. & ultimately be forced to declare bankruptcy. I personally think it's not an issue since they can likely secure funding from other sources given their order backlog but it may add more delays.
