Discontinued The Sublimator

In some of the Sublimator videos, I see he is using such a fine grind. What grinder is he using to achieve this? Is the Volcano grinder enough for a fine grind or do you have to invest in something better?

Great to see Sublimators making it out to FC members. We will try to answer some questions:

apparently they've been in discussion with enrico and theyre being shipped anyway. the issue being resolved upon the unit attaining temperature. id say having it a little loose (when cold) will help it not get so tight once at temperature, and less likely result in the type of break in the instagram feed.
When we received our Sublimator shipment yesterday, we like to test new items before shipping them to our customers. That is when we noticed that the 18mm Atomizers were not sealing tight in an 18mm joint. In a rush to get as many Sublimators shipped as we could, we included an o-ring as a temporary fix when we should have contacted Sublimator instead. Turns out they are designed with expansion in mind, once the Apollo is up to temp, the 18mm atomizer should seal. We apologize to our customers who we alerted to a problem that didn't exist. As always if any problems or questions arise, please contact us.

So apparently the grill and moon tool no longer comes with it. They are redesigning it and possibly making it in titanium to be sold separately. Booooooo...come on guys, you couldn't include a basic pick?

Other than that, I am enjoying myself :science:
Update on this - the grill is another word for a screen, the moon tool is the actual tool. 2 grills (screens are included) you can also use an iolite screen as Enrico uses in his videos. There will be two Moon tools, one small version made from surgical stainless which will be included in all future Sublimator kits as soon as they are available and will also be sent for free to all existing Sublimator owners who didn't receive one in their kits. A larger more advanced Moon tool made from titanium will also be available as a separate product.

But the Sublimator is fully made in steel. I found weird that they did not put an electrical and thermal insulation on the body.
I am clumsy when i am high and could burn myself or break the bong filled with water :\
The temp control has been customized for the lower power requirements of the Apollo as well as having a fail safe built in should something happen further down the line. We recommend NOT taking a bath while Sublimating and if you already know that you are "clumsy when i am high and could burn myself" then we would advise to play it safe and proceed with great caution or look at an alternative vaporizer that will better guard you against burns.

We have been branded by hot Solo stems, hot Ti nails, hot PAX ovens, hot Omicron cartridges, hot Vapocanes etc. no brand of honour from the Sublimator yet, but sure we will eventually.

I just got an email with some basic instructions that suggested a med to fine grind, and the Volcano grinder was mentioned. I use the SantaCruz Shredder seems to put a nice grind out.
Both the Volcano grinder and SantaCruz Shredders are awesome, we know because we sell all of them. They both grind plenty fine for the Sublimator, it doesn't require as fine as a Launch Box, a med to fine grind is plenty.

Hope to see more FC members Sub'in soon.

How could anyone doubt a product that is being supported by such a mindful shop as planet vape. Sending us stuff for free afterwards 'cuz it didn't exist at the time we ordered. I can't think of a single online shop that would do that: they'd basically say, 'dude, was it on the list of items you ordered? No, then shut up about it and give us more money if you want some'. That being said, 500 $ is plenty for adding what basically is a long metal toothpick :). Thanks though planet vape !

Oh and they also said, 'We labeled the order as a Repair / Warranty 1 x “floral diffusor” at a total value of 9.95 for customs.' Let's hope the way those bozos handle my precious won't reflect its pretend-price. Ready for some floral-diffusing !

I woke up expecting to see a frenzy of vidoes of people sublimating. Anyone regretting the big purchase? Not as hoped? Claimed long lasting efffects not there? Does it just clear your nose for a few hours or everyone just toooo relaxed and calm to type let alone make videos???

I reckon most americans (continent) are asleep now and any other parts of the world won't have received it yet ... Anxious as well though

With out me reading 26pages/ Can someone please explain a newbie like me what is so great, about the Sub?

I know sounds like an idiotic question. But I'm still baffled. From what I gathered its a vapor process that is superior as the creator says to regulair non sublimating vaporizers before this. I'm sure based on how tweek was paranoid at the supermarket says a lot to the kind of people that are not like me and are experienced in vaporizers. So does that mean that it truly is superior to anything that is a non sublimating?

So from what I think I understand about the Sublimator is that the temperature can get very hot like 500 and maybe even combusting which is a bad thing I would assume because combusting is not as healthy as vaping. And it gets hot fast. But how exactly is the owner saying that this is specifically guaranteed to the masses that this Sublimator is believed to be the best? And what exactly are we looking for when the in depth reviews come in to verifiy truly the best?

Apologizes for the questions but it is very baffling to me still.

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is this just a good new/different/sublimating/ type of device? Or is this all that and the best of the best? Because if it's just one of the best, and not THEEEEEEE BEEEEEEEEEST then I wouldn't want to pay that much for it.

@jeremy driscoll No one can answer that, the question of the best. That is a personal question and will be different for, well, different persons.

I also still do not get what is happening here exactly, maybe this thing works by not allowing oxygen in the mix? Without oxygen, so I assume, combustion is not possible, which might explain the higher temps in use here? Then again there are air inlet holes....it's all still a big mystery to me, but seeing some members have gotten their hands on one I think we will soon find out.

I think most of the questions asked in concern to efficiency/effect and so on, cannot be answered yet. It takes some time...:2c:

As mentioned by Cheese, I think I am the first one on the forum (at least publicly) who has one. Still early for me to give a full review.

Sorry Tweek, you're no longer alone  Sorry, for the shitty pics, ill try to get some better ones later.

Mine's doing the initial heat up...i'm so fucking pumped:rockon:

You don't realize how relieved I am to hear that....I don't think I can keep testing as hard as I did last night :smug:

Enjoy!

Edit: I recommend giving the atomizer a quick swab with ISO and then let it heat at least a good half hour. It took awhile to burn off the residue.

I took my first hit of the day, and I really needed it since I woke up to a flooded basement. I dropped.5 in, at around the centre mark on the dial. I always let the apollo and the atomizer warm up together for a solid 20 min when I first switch it on. Dropped it in, took a big hit...went down smooth, with a little tickle, but no need to cough. I was able to hold it in for almost 20 seconds without feeling the need to expel. So there is indeed a smoothness there that I have not encountered with my Volcano or SSV without water filtration.

Duff came out a nice dark brown and looks pretty spent. I will let it pile up and test it in my Volcano for Francis...see if anything is left, which I doubt. I won't comment on how I feel just yet, as I have more testing to do. All I will say is...I laugh at you flooded basement! :goon:

YEah you newbies, need to do some reading, and give the first round people a chance to first of all GET the Sub sent to us, and then we will post what we are experiencing with it. So far, in the last 24 hours a few Canadian folks have been getting theirs, no doubt the postal system will be quicker inside the country it's being shipped out of. RELAX, take a vape and wait for the reviews to come in. If you are too anxious to wait, go back and start reading this thread so you might find answers to your questions. I'm happy to be seeing more Subs showing up on people's doors, I'm hoping to see mine by Monday. :D
