Are you the Wildchild who used to post on Canadian Canoe Routes ?
I actually live about an hour from Toronto but I'm an Arctic lover ,the land ,people and culture hence my avatar. I spend as much time as possible kayaking and backpacking in Northern Ontario and Baffin Island when I'm not down here being a wage slave.
Baker Lake sounds exciting and remote and I assume you'll have the honour of being the first Nunavutian to own an Ascent.

Yes, Baker is quite remote...it is the only inland community up here so the Inuit, particularly the Elders, have a bit of a different story than the rest.

I used to live in TO as well (Dupont / Manning) but hail from the Ottawa Valley originally. I'm working with the President / Directors of a large Nunavut company on Process Management. Been doing contract work up here for several years (in several communities) so that I may retire young...well, relatively young. OK, I also have a soft spot for the Inuit and would like to see conditions improve up here. Considering they literally lived in snow houses (Igloos) less than 80 years ago, they have come a long way.
OK, back on topic: I'll be purchasing my Ascent from torontovaporizer.ca when they are available.

Hey guys, just checking in. Glad to see the optimism on the board as we're working hard to get the Ascent out for you in a perfect state. Just to clarify, it really was just the packaging, but as anyone who met Cort at TYE noticed..he surely is a "fussy perfectionist"! So while waiting for that...he started tweaking buttons. Shouldn't be too long now and I'll keep ya'll updated.
Hey Dreamer...weren't you the one who wanted the dust cover? Well, here it is...more of a dust plug, but works the same nevertheless. A carrying bag, metal pick, screens and extra glass pieces will also be included.
Also, about the glass for GV- we do work closely with them, so are trying to lend a helping hand with their preorder fiasco, so there is truth in the email. On our side- we are giving all preregisters a free adapter, well until we run out that is.

I purchased my ascent through gotvape a long time ago before I even saw the pre refistration which I got to in time, but with the last email, I have emailed davinci about getting the free goodies for having to wait by putting in a code during purchase. Since I have gotten mine pre ordered through got vape, I no longer have the chance to put in the code for the pre register unless I buy another one from their site, so just a heads up. If you already put the money down for the vape, you will not be able to get the freebie without buying another so you can put the code in at checkout.
I'm not angry or mad since its my fault for pre purchasing the first chance I got. Just want to make sure everyone knows this and I you are concerned, you may want to email davinci directly. I'm just happy to get the ascent. I'm sure most of you already knew already, figured I'd put it out there since I already talked to them about it.

I know you are going to be extremely pleased with your Ascent.
Here is a photo of the adapter; this is going to be a very nice attachment that allows for an extra layer of water filtration while Vaporizing.
They included a picture of the inline adapter (18mm), not the U-Shaped one. Both are listed on Davinci's site.

basically it's a sites that connects people that want to buy the same product. buying in bulk is generally cheaper so everyone gets a cheaper price. today was the first time i've seen it, but I think that's the gist of the site.

Looks to me, Massdrop is a site where people band together to buy items at wholesale prices. The more you buy, the cheaper the price. If we get 124 more votes, then Massdrop will post an official response. Whether that response is good or bad, I would like to find out. At the rate it's getting votes, we should know by tomorrow.
Depends on what you own, I bet the majority of people will order 14mm straights. That's the one I might get if GV doesn't hog them all, it was nice to feel special for awhile...

I have serious doubts that an as-of-yet-released product with this much pent up demand will be a candidate for any bulk purchasing for quite some time yet.
Simply put, if they have 100 units (made up numbers) for the first batch, and 150 people willing to pay full MSRP, why on Earth would they undercut those sales?
Now, if you don't mind waiting half a year or more, then that would be the deal for you.

Thanks for the update DV. It's an exciting time. So I haven't been on in a bit, I haven't hit my Cloud in 21 days now. I have a physical on the 12th of June, for life insurance. We have a baby on the way!!!!think the release might time out perfect with me back on the buzz. Thanks again DV!!!

I'm sorry, a wee bit pessimistic aren't we? If what you say is true, then why is Got Vape going to have them? You think they paid full price for their units? Or the glass adapters they are snaking out from under us?
Edit: Maybe they did pay full price for the adapters, according to the DV site, they are only a dollar, and come in 18mm and ?16mm? Still no pictures yet, and product options say 18mm or 14mm.

Is davinci ever going to sell an actual bubbler attachment, vs just an adapter to use with a bubbler or bong? That would be nice. Something like the pinnicle has or like the multiple suggestions from the water attachment contest.
