Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

It doesnt work that way. Every concentrate is different. Nobody can test every wax, oil, budder, taffy, goo, etc.

If you are not familiar with it...use the 2.4s for everything like everybody always says and then everybody always ignores.

There is no best concentrate. The other ohm carts are for when you mastered the 2.4s

IMO your not filling or priming it right.

I bought a brand new Omicron V2 (purple model) just 3 days ago. It worked perfectly for 2 days. yesterday after getting home from work I picked up the omicron went to take a hit and no LED would turn on. At first I thought it was in the lock mode so I pressed the power button 5 times. No luck. I tried this several more time but no LED activity. I though the battery must be dead so I popped in a brand new fully charged battery but it still wont turn on. I thought that maybe just the LED burned out and tried to hit it again but the cart does not get warm. I followed the instructions in the manual and cleaned all the contacts even though they were clean with no oils or residues on them. After cleaning I tired swapping two fully charged batteries and attempting to unlock it for about 20 mins. Whatever I do the omicron just will not turn on after only 2 days of very light use. I am so upset right now. I purchased this unit for a road trip I am taking this weekend and now it no longer works. I'm hoping there is some sort of advice someone out there can lend me that does not require me having to ship my unit away for a warranty replacement. After spending so much money on the omicron it self I really don't want to fork out extra money to have to ship it back to the manufacturer after only two days of use. Feeling a bit ripped off right now :(

"OF", "G" will never tell you what type of concentrate works best?

I beg your pardon! I am not a "self proclaiming expert(s)", I only claim to have tried some things, formed some opinions and have tried to pass that on to help others. I have never degenerated any Forum Member for an honest question, don't call people "KOOKS" (even when I think they are) nor belittle them as 'Newbies' for not knowing things they are honestly trying to learn.

First off, I'm under absolutely no obligation to tell you (or anyone else) anything. I'm happy to help when I can, take great care with my advice and am willing to 'back up' both that advice and any opinions in an effort to be accurate and clear.

Not only won't I 'never tell' such a secret, I've answered this question (as best I can) at your specific request less than a week ago on this very forum didn't I (Post #9016)? Even though you didn't specifically ask me then. My advice remains the same as it has been for some time. Start with 2.4 Ohm carts at 3.7 Volts until you master the system. Avoid any concentrates lower in quality than "Super Melts", look for medium weight (avoid real thin ones because of leaks, shatters and glasses because their feed is harder to control) until you're good at it. Look for lighter colored concentrates (generally less 'other stuff' to foul it out). Load half a gram at a time, following the instructions. Weigh your carts empty to know how much is left. And so on.

I also included a simple test that could aid your quest.

It sounds like you got an air bubble trapped in loading if you had a wax filled cart that worked well but 'died' with .6 gram of concentrate in it, I suspect because the tube wasn't preheated well. The wicks seem to have run dry anyway?

BTW, you're welcome both times. But please don't say I won't ever do what I've already done for you?

Thank you.

That's simple advice that everyone gives, but nobody listens.

Boy that's all too often the simple truth of it, isn't it?

As Paul Simon put it so well, "....still a man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest". Thanks very much for the kind words.

Best wishes for the new day, it looks to be another wonderful one here.

The "PERSIE" is well made for sure.
One of the biggest issues with people not succeeding with it is the type of concentrate used.
"OF", "G" will never tell you what type of concentrate works best?
PURE GOLD OIL?
WAX?
You are classified as a "Newbie" or a "KOOK" if your not sure?
I own a few vaporizers and I bought the "PERSIE" as it is the "BENTLEY" of concentrate vaporizers.
However I'm spending $100's of dollars on concentrates figuring this thing out.
If you buy this unit expect to do you own R&D.
Don't get me wrong I still think this is one of the best made units out there however the learning curve is a long journey. Not user friendly like my IPHONE.
The self proclaiming experts never give a straight answer?

What concentrate is best?
Which Cartridge?
Battery Combo?

There is a clever chart with Battery and Cartridge.
However I would have to give it a "F" for not including the concentrates in the graph?

I think it is still a great device (PERSIE) and will make my own research and chart that I would like to follow.
For now I have to stick with FLOWERS and my SOLO until I get it all figured out?
I'm thinking about going back to the PURE GOLD? The Leakage might of been user error?
The WAX was doing fine at first however it clogged?
I started at .7 fill and it worked pretty well for the first two days. (2.4 cart)
There is about .6 of a gram in the cartridge left. (it's done)
1.5 = Type of Concentrate?
2.4 = Type of Concentrate?
5.4 = Type of Concentrate?

Maybe if there was a "FOR DUMMIES PERSIE MANUAL"?

Persei for dummies you say? www.vaporpedia.com/wiki/Persei

You should listen to OF even if he is a kook, lol!

Great Scott!
No advice as I don't have one, but you weren't ripped off for sure. If they were con artists selling junk they wouldn't have built up such a good reputation. I hope someone has a tip so you can enjoy the road trip

darkrom,
You promised not to tell...... Can't trust anyone these days. Nobody uses their real name.

Now I'm gonna tell on you!

OF
He didn't "tell", at least here. You admitted as such with the concern DubC expressed about your conversations in the garden and looking out for "white coats" just a couple of days ago.

BTW. The men IN "white coats" are usually the good guys, the ones carrying a "white jacket" with long sleeves are the ones to try and avoid.

Anyone have any ideas of what may have caused this? I opened a ticket yesterday with Delta9 but I have not heard anything back from them. Really sucks sitting here with a brand new broken Omicron and no support

Musical Have you checked your spam folder? usually when we respond it goes there. As for the issue, what ohm cart where you using? both batteries not working? Other cartridges work? You said blue button does not come on, is the battery inserted correctly? What where you doing when this happened?

I checked my spam folder and see no response on the ticket.. (ticket number 720775)

I was using the 2.4 ohm cart that came included with my omicron. I bought the unit on sunday and it worked perfectly until yesterday afternoon. As of Monday night it was working. it sat on my coffee table all day on Tuesday while I was at work. When I got home I tried to use it and absolutely no power, heat, or LED activity. For the two days it was working I had only used one battery. So I put in the second battery that came with the unit and it still did not power on. I then charged both batteries tried them both and still nothing. All contacts were perfectly clean but I cleaned them with ISO any ways and still nothing. I dont think it has anything to do with the cart as the unit should power on regardless of the cart even being screwed on right?. Please help!

Ok i see your ticket number and they are on it.

Do this for me take the top off and clean out the threads. Then insert it, see if the light blinks three times. This is a safety circuit that kicks in to check if the battery is upside down or not. Is the positive side of the battery pointing towards the top?

I was thinking about some of the frustrated people that post here. Obviously attacking people in white hats (I think that is the phrase) is not going to be helpful, or generate good feelings. I was thinking that many of the people here suffer from some pretty dreadful illnesses (I am lucky as mine own is only somewhat dreadful) and sometimes I forget that their frustration is not only borne of "inconvenience" but genuine medical need.

Some are just @holes, but I wonder sometimes what symptoms might be driving their emotions.

NOW WHEN IS THAT HERCULES GOING TO BE AVAILABLE!!!!!!??????!!!!!!

Fully Melted

It's OK to enjoy your medicine.
On another note: It's my magical 2.4 ohm cart's 7th birthday, She has reached 7 fills today so I fed her with a mix of purple nepal and black spice shatter that has been hiding in my daughters' freezer since Nov 2010. It was a nice feeling to know that I have graduated from "Omicron frustrated" to "OH MY CRON this works amazing!"

I also am going to toss my first ever 5 carts in my "jar of shame" that I turned into chronic "leakers" by overheating when filling and not understanding what I was doing to clog them. I don't need to keep them around anymore. Once I got the tips down and actually heeded some sage advice here and on the Wiki, I am now an "Omicron Kook". And proud of it. ;)

On a side note: I too became frustrated to point of anger over the Omicron *until* I actually followed the advice of the kooks.
Well, I have to run out to the trash now and toss my carts that I ruined by being the male who won't ask for directions when lost.

Happy Birthday cartridge!

Thank you "OF".
Sorry if there is a misunderstanding on my part.
Maybe it's just a air bubble?
Should I just drain the cartridge and start over?
I did not pre-heat the cartridge before I loaded it.
I could be over thinking all of this?
One day I hope to master this thing.
The "PURE GOLD" leaked on the 5.0 cartridge.
However the taste is unbelievable.
Maybe with a 2.4 cartridge and 3.4 Battery?
I'm sure it's just a learning curve I'm going through.
The "PERSIE" is well built and I'm sure it's fine.
I just need to master how to use the cartridges correctly.
Sorry to vent my frustrations.
However you did give me some useful advice.

Kind regards and please no hard feelings!

You're welcome, no hard feelings. But please be careful with your frustrations, 'naming names' makes it personal. Perhaps not the best plan if you're hoping someone will help you out, definitely a bad idea if you're ducks aren't in a row IMO. Let's chalk it up to a missed post?

I would not drain the cart without trying to fix it. Not only does this cost you a ten dollar cart but you'll loose .2 grams or so in the process most likely. There are excellent instructions on the D9 site for filling, I suggest following them next time. The idea is to have the tube hotter than melting temperature before the just melted concentrate slides down and hits the tube. If it's cold there, the concentrate will 'clot' right there leaving a bubble.

I've had good luck with 'melting it down' in such cases (before I discovered the importance of preheating). The key is to understand where the seals are (about 1/4 of the way up the cart) and never get that part hotter than you're comfortable holding. Start with it cold and upright, held at the 1/3 point in your thumb and forefinger. While rotating the cart (to heat from all sides) play the flame of your (torch style) lighter on the tube at the half way point and a bit above. Keep heating it until the tube under your fingers gets fairly warm (to the point you'd like to stop heating.....) then move up the tube with the heat toward the top to get the oil flowing down. Done right you'll actually feel the hot oil drop down and the heat at the bottom where your fingers are go up a bit. Stainless Steel conducts heat poorly which is what allows us to do this. Then try it again.

PG can be done, but it takes a fine touch on the heat and careful cool down after the hit or it will leak 'every time'. Learn with thicker concentrates on 2.4 Ohm carts at 3.7 Volts. Even going to 3.0 Volts won't help you with poor technique (I tried). I also tried being casual with 4 and 5 Ohm carts and ended up with leakers. Technique is everything here. PG is 'playing the palace', learn to be a champ with more normal stuff first. IMO PG really shines in the DART (no leaks.....). Revolution/DART is much less picky, it'll even do a fair job on bubble hash!

BTW, it's just my opinion but I think G is an outstanding maker. He puts a huge amount of time in here trying to help folks along, something precious few do. IMO he's to be commended in that, not 'called out' for not doing enough. There are no entitlements here I see, perhaps some misplaced expectations and some good folks trying to help each other out.

I'll save the old saw about flies, honey and vinegar for another time......

Keep to the middle thickness 'clean' and lighter colored concentrates in 2.4 Ohm carts at 3.7 Volts and you'll sort it out. That's what Omicron was designed around. Stray from that too far and you'll end up in the ditch somewhere.

Good luck.

Has far as "G"?
I know he is a very smart guy and has brought a very good product to market.
That's why I bought one.
I have to be so stealthy and my time is limited to get this working smoothly.
In the future I will keep my ignorance to myself and I'm deeply sorry to come off like an idiot.
Mastering this thing I will do as I never quit.
Again thank you for taking the time to teach me.

Vaporizing is new and very effective in treating my medical condition.
The "PERSIE" is a piece of equipment that can truly help me.
