Just dropped my T1 on to a slate floor . . . it bounced and still works fine. I am so glad this thing is as robust as it is . . .

Good show it was a solid slate floor, if it'd been tile you'd probably be looking at a cracked or dented tile right about now. I can mentally see the rim coming down hard and blowing a big old chip out without leaving a scratch on the TV. Sucker's half way to a hammer.....

They showed me the unit they played fetch with (introduced me to the dog at the same time), the dog and dents in the plastic parts were impressive. Aside from a few scratches from the pavement, the T1 metal was in perfect shape and functioned normally. I recall thinking looking at the teeth marks how tough dog teeth were.....

OK, cool, I'll pass that word then. Order the Standard Voltage Revolution kit, then put in notes 'change to LV DART' and you'll set it right on your end? Cool.

Sorry about the software issues, but you know my view on that stuff already......

Hang in there, lad, it's only Monday.

Yep, that is what we would do. Our man Zeki is checking orders for changes (about one of every three) and making sure we do our best to get everything correctly sorted.

As far as the Monday thing... that was just cruel, you knew damn well I had no clue what day it was :D

Cheers,

When I first learned about the T1, I thought one bowl per battery charge didn't seem like much, and would end up being a hassle, but now that I am using it, I find that it really isn't that big of a deal. I have been able to fully vape a load on one set of batteries, no problem. Once the bowl is spent, it really doesn't take much more effort to toss out the used batteries, and pop in a fresh set while I am having to reload the bowl anyway. At my tolerance level, one bowl is plenty to get me beyond fully medicated, and sometimes I only get 2-3 puffs in before I need to set it down for a while. Since heat up time is only a few seconds I don't worry about letting it get cold, unless I was trying to vape the entire load in one session. So far I have not noticed that it decreases the battery life much when I take a couple of hits, put it down, then come back to it later. I still cash out the bowl, on one charge, and then change it all out for freshies once it's done. No point in giving yourself headaches in order to squeeze an extra hit or two out in my opinion. We all have different expectations and needs, hopefully the T1 is satisfying yours well enough. It's working amazingly well for me.

You will actually increase battery life with the method of letting it cool between inhalations. To a degree battery function decreases as a function of heat, the hotter the battery the less the performance (same with really cold batteries, also decreases battery life, although the T1 is really good at warming up cold battery :)).

So you will get better battery performance, per use life span, as well as overall lifespan of the battery letting it rest between inhalations.

This is why the ideal use of the ThermoVape T1 or Evolution is to pulse the switch once vaporization temperature is reached. This not only helps to get increased tactile feedback as the vapor expresses itself over a broader temperature range, but also serves to give the batteries a break. The Heater core retains heat, and ramps back up to full temperature rapidly when warm. This makes for a perfect combination for a device that excels at being selectively activated. The result is increased battery life, and the device running cooler.

It is easy to do, once you are producing vapor, experiment with letting off the switch while continuing to inhale, then turning the switch back on when you sense the vapor is cooling or tapering off, repeat, you may be very surprised how much "off-time" a thermoVape can have while still producing a lot of vapor. Another trick is that usually up to the last 5 seconds of an inhale can be made with the switch in the off position (results vary depending on style).

Food for thought.

Yeah, it was a little out of line....even for me. But I knew what day it was, yesterday was the day with the thick newspaper, right? That means it was Sunday, so this must be Monday......

If you ever went outside long enough to see a paper, you'd probably know these things yourself. Until then, I'll remind you I guess? No need to thank me, I'm sure you'd do the same for me were our situations be reversed.

Keep your left up, hope to catch you on the back nine....

Good to know, thanks for sharing this! I've been switching back and forth between the T1 and the Evo so my batteries can cool down.

There is a photo and video contest, and they pick a winner each month on the 15th. You can send in submissions once a month, to get in on the contest. As I understand it.

Anyone having their finish on the handle chipping off? I noticed what I thought was some white substance on the bottom but when I scratched at it with my nail it just started chipping off.
P1030726.jpg

It doesn't effect anything performance wise but I'm sure it will be completely off before long exposing that yucky looking metal underneath it. Wondering if this is more or less a normal ware situation. I am by no means gentle with it but did not expect this to happen.

None of mine are doing it, but it wouldn't surprise me to have it happen from impact and the like. That "yucky looking metal" is 6061-T6 Aluminum I think. If it was the wing on an airplane (same metal) folks might say it was beautiful? I'm not suggesting you stop random folks at the airport to ask their opionions, of course......

Anyway, I bet if you email 'em TV will set you up one way or the other.

I do understand that I may have scratched it on the bottom and would expect maybe a flake chip off. However, I can simply scratch it with my thumb now and it just keeps peeling off. Like it just needed a starting point. I have mentioned it to TV and I'm sure I will get a response soon.
Just a little dissapointed as never thought the bond of the finish would have this charcateristic.
I know if I saw an airplane wing with the finish chipping off, I'd be a little uneasy.
Oh well, it is what it is. I just what to know if this is normal that a small abrasive scratch can cause this snowball effect. :/

As I recall the details of this, the bond Nickle to Nickle is much stronger than Nickle to Aluminum. It's more a matter of the finish not flaking off the part that's loose. Nickle is hard, the whole reason it's used as a plate here, I doubt your breaking it down by abrasion. I tends to wear away slowly as I recall. I suspect it's impact that get's it started?

There isn't any finish over the "yucky looking metal" on the wing, it's raw yucky looking from root to tip. That's the point I was getting at, sorry I wasn't clear enough.

Like I said, it's been a long time since I worked with EN parts, but it's tough stuff, not prone to wear, but I recall impact is not a strong suit. Lots of critical wear parts were EN plated at a place I worked for, solves a lot of problems done right.

Boy that takes me back. I had a bud that lived in one it the wilds. What a neat thing it was, modern RVs are cheap trash by comparison.

His wasn't that pretty, not even close, but it was still wind and water tight and everything worked.

We will replate (strip the nickel plating off of the Aluminum, and then repeat the electroless nickel plating process) any ThermoVape part for free. You pay the shipping, and the rest is on us. That way you can restore your ThermoVape for the cost of an envelope and a few stamps. Turn around time is fast, as we are constantly plating parts . And you still get your original part back. So you can beat it up, although try a soft cloth before a nail when cleaning :D.

Hope that helps.

I will keep the offer under my belt as will see how it looks once all the plating is gone from the bottom. If it looks like an airplane wing I'll keep it......jk, OF. (I knew what you met there, just yankin you chain)

Good deal, glad you are agreeable. We really do everything we can to build a product that does not ever end up in the garbage. Being able to replate your ThermoVape after it provides you with faithful service is a nice way to keep your ThermoVape refreshed every so often. The nicks and dings will stay, so you can still build character. Like a tough guy wearing a tuxedo :D.

So my T1 has no serial number at all, but the rest of the engraving is there...as though none was ever etched. Am I fucked if I need warranty repair some day?

Or rather it's keeping the rest of you from squabbling over who was second.......

Cool. I figured as much, but the 'yucky metal' part might have confused the children some. IMO it's not at all yucky, closer to the whiz bang end of the scale, really. But I think I've got it straight, assuming you meant meant? You may consider my chain yanked.

Of course not. We will be even more impressed that you were among the few pre-serial customers.

There are people who abuse are warranty service, for example they have us send replacements and then do not return the defective part multiple times. Or people who say there ThermoVape didn't work so they threw it away and now want a new one. Stuff like that wears us down, cuts at our thin margin. Those are the only people who may have issues with us as we feel they are abusing are service.

With the exception of those folks who are taking advantage of us, we 110% back all of our products. We do not care if you are the original owner, it was a gift, or you inherited the ThermoVape, we will honor the warranty. No worries.

Thank you very much :) I view this as how warrantys SHOULD be, I mean you made the product after all, why does the fact that ____ sold it mean it should no longer work? That being said very few companies seem to be doing this. I really think it is a great thing you do and it sets you above the competition.

Thanks for the reassurance, but I don't expect my T1 to die any time soon.
