Arizer Solo II

My PlanetVape kit arrived, and WOW am I knocked out so far w/Solo 2's versatility. Been experimenting with different stems, temps and draw techniques- that's been a tonne of scientific fun. I've been enthusiastic to put it mildly and have been impressed with battery life. I've been using a basket screen to effectively halve the size of the regular sized bowl. It allows me more tasty draws at lower temps and more experience temp-stepping while remaining mainly coherent/conscious. But it has meant more on/off cycles and overall drain on the battery. Solo 2 just keeps going! Thank you Arizer! Buy Canadian, you'll be glad you did!

Not to derail myself but I also got my Nano glass today so I have been bouncing betwixt and between the two which is probably why I'm mentioning it here... Much love to EpicVape, they are super-cool and make happy to give them money. Buy American, you'll be glad you did!

I mean I need to be certain that the back-up is fully functioning as well. Except what if the apocalypse happens & there's no electricity?! Better get a VapCap, a sweet torch & a case of butane! Gotta be prepared, that's pure logic. And what's more logical than titanium? Nothing, that's what.

I suppose I'll end up getting more exercise while i hit my E-Nano then. No big deal.

I spend a few minutes each day checking out the various cannabis related sub reddits and have been waiting for people to start pushing the Solo II but it's not happening.

Either the minor smear campaign hurt the initial sales or people just don't know how great it is.

Now that the excitement for the overly hyped, proprietary parts only, Ghost MV1 is done the Solo should get more promotion.

I'm not a reddit member but for anyone who is, champion this vape - it's the bee's knees!!

@JCharles i really enjoyed your review. Arizer captured all the elements and put them in a great vaporizing tool for all of us to use. For me the upgrades were worth it to buy. The dialing in my exact temperature is an important feature for me.

I didn't have to charge up my unit for the entire trip. The battery is a tank and also upgraded.
It's a real flavor producer that's for sure.

It's not too small to lose either like my GH.:bang:

@pxl_jockey looks like we have similar tastes in vaporizers.

I have to vape discreetly at home. My wife knows but doesn't like it and definitely doesn't want to witness the act. My wife is out and about quite a bit so I use the Solo 2 for some really good sessions. My Crafty is perfect for use when I walk the dog or even when I drive to the clubhouse (5 minutes) to play cards. I am now saving my ABV and using it in smoothies. I agree the Solo 2 deserves more fanfare. It's fast to heat up and will run for many temperature controlled sessions. It has great flavor and low draw resistance. For the features if you can find it for under $200 it is more than worth a try. :myday:

Just picked up a Solo 2 on Friday and I'm seriously impressed. I was trying to decide between a Hydrology 9 Cloudious and the Solo 2 since I already owned the OG Solo, I'm glad I went with the upgrade. My OG Solo is a tank, so much so that it's my shower vape. (it sounds like a risky click but it's G rated, I swear.) Overall it's been one of my favorite vapes and has been a part of my routine in the morning and before bed.

The Solo 2 blows it away. I didn't think it could be this much of an upgrade, at most I thought it was just incremental but damn it's worth it. Sleek, super fast heating, much better airflow and even better tasting (I didn't think that was possible). I really liked the premium packaging, both my OG Solo & 2016 EQ came in a big brown nondescript box. It feels really solid too, more so than the OG but even still this one isn't hitting the shower.

My OG Solo is going to my grandfather next weekend, he's 83 and can't combust anymore because of throat issues. I took one of my vapes last trip a few weeks back and he told this weekend on the phone that he eat and slept better than he had in years after that session. I don't mind replacing stems, but it's solid enough and he has more than enough mobility to use it that i think he'll really put it to good use.

In the ironic way things sometimes work, I'd just finished enjoying my Solo II and one of Randy's 'WT Arizer stems" with some lovely top shelf I got the other day when I found a newbie struggling with just what this guy fixes. It occurs to me he's far from alone, so I'd encourage those interested in such things, or having trouble with 'harsh vapor' to wonder over there and look for amusment:
OF's PIU stem rant

There's a photo of a similar one with water in it and lots of rambling on why you should take a fifteen dollar flyer on this one. "Trust me", it really can make a difference for a very small price and very little trouble to use.

Works with both Solo models and Air.

Regards to all on what looks to be a great day indeed.

So its been 2 months now with the Solo 2 as my daily driver. I'm floored at how well this portable performs, its almost up there with my Minivap (I use my minivap the same way I do a solo 1 or 2, with the glass solo stem inserted in the minivap rather than the basket/lid method).

I picked up some top shelf Kush the other day, loaded up a full stem and set it to 210 C. I lost count after about 8 nice hits, but man did i ever get lit!

I had some friends over that night for a few beers and an introduction to vaping with my Blue Solo 2. Both my buddies are long time combusters and have never tried vaping. My one buddy loved it so much that he called me the next day asking where he could get one for him and his wife!! He got so high that he tapped out after couple stems. He marveled at how well this vape tasted, how fast it reached temperature, the drawing from the glass stem (no stinky fingers lol), how well it medicated him with only a quarter of herb he uses in a joint. He also commented on how nice and clean his buzz felt. My other buddy liked the vape but prefers the heavy groggy combustion high he gets from smoking, the buzz from the vape made him very anxious and paranoid.

Oh well...I'm still loving this Vape each and every day!!

:peace:

Funny you mention that, I ordered mine on Friday after I picked up my Solo II and it should be here on Monday. Got that, the airflow stem and the 10mm hydrotube for the Davinci IQ. Can't wait till it gets here to try it on the Solo II. I've also been eyeballing the TnT stems.

So quick question - I know the stems need occastional cleaning, but what about the unit itself? Can flower crumbs get in the four small holes in the heating chamber? Or does the unit itself actually never need cleaning?

Also, I am looking for a good bubbler. I hear the D020-D recommended often. Is this still the general consensus? Would I need to buy some sort of adaptor to connect the Solo II?

I bought the bubbler stem that was mentioned a couple pages back. It's nice, but the draw resistance goes up a good bit. Additionally, I find that by the time the 4th or 5th hit comes around, the water is almost gone. Evaporated, I assume. It also gets quite dirty and I see no easy way to clean it. Would others agree with that assessment? Starting to wonder if mine is leaking since the water dips below the air holes by hit 6 or so.

I own the original Solo and the Solo 2.

After each use, I turn the unit upside down and give it gentle taps. Occasionally, a few crumbs may fall out. In my experience so far, nothing to worry about at all. Once in a while I will carefully use a pin to ensure the holes are completely clear of debris or resin. I, too, was concerned about the holes getting plugged up but a regular member here, @OF, put my mind at ease.

Also, after a few sessions, I let the unit cool down, turn it upside down and use a Q-Tip that has been dampened with ISO to give the oven a good cleaning. Just make sure that there is no excess ISO in the chamber before turning it right-side-up. That's it, I think.

For the Solo the D020 from dhgate works well.

d020 bubbler bong hand blown glass bubbler perc water percolator smoking color pipe two functions straight type, pyrex, glass on sunshinestore's Store - DHgate.com
DHgate.com › store › product › d020-bu...

A j hook is also a wonderful addition to your GAS.

Edit
Here's a pic of my D020 bubbler at xmas time with my Solo OG. It's the perfect size and mates really well with the Solo. My D022 that I have doesn't work as well with my Solo but it's perfect for my Enano IMO. Yes that's an @Ed's TnT WonG. It has a turquoise inlay. One of my fave pieces.

I suspect you're drawing far too hard and are sucking out bits of water at the same time. It's not evaporating that fast. I fill mine 'almost to the limit' by inverting it and blowing out any water that misses the upper trap. This should over the lower tube above the vent hole by a bit. When you draw, the water inside will be pulled through the holes and the level 'working' will increase a bit. I'll run half a dozen or more loads before I add a few drops of water to make up for losses, and clean it maybe every second time? Sooner if there's a lot of wax in the herb.

Cleaning is easy. Put it in a 'travel tube' from PV (or elsewhere), put in a pinch of PBW and your dirty stem, fill it with hot tap water, cap and gently shake a bit before putting it in a cup, bowl, or glass of hot tap water (to keep it hot) for a few minutes, a shake or two more and rinse out under the tap and I'm clean and ready to go in under five minutes while I make a cup of tea 'multitasking'.

But in the end it's tiny and therefore has limits. Then again, D020s tend to spill a lot when you put the in your pocket.......

A guy needs both?

Thanks! Do I need an adapter to connect to the Solo?
You need an 18mm GonG for the Solo. They come in the 14mm size as well but the D020 requires the 18mm size. Sometimes you will see that some water tools come in either sizes. It's nice to have the 18mm as well as the 14mm size so you have all bases covered.

My WonG from up above that I have that fits the Solo OG doesn't fit the Solo 2.

Mine must be broken then... a half dozen sessions before you have to refill? I get 6 drags. The two little holes sit about dead center of the water level for me.

Not quite, six or so loads before a top up of maybe 1/8 or so inch? I tried to count drops this morning, I put in 8 before I noticed my hand was wet (I missed the MP), but it wasn't much more than that to top up I think. Less than the distance from the holes to the bottom? Refills happen after washing and rinsing (actually the last of the rinse come to think on it). You're might be broken, hard to guess where the water might be going. Time to see if your backup does the same........

Good luck, IMO it has a lot to offer more modest users.

Dang ol' Solo 2 is doing nothing for my spiritual journey. I have a problem with patience, mainly having it. Well TBH I've got loads of problems but this is the one we're talking about right now. So I look for ways in my day-to-day to increase my patience and gratefulness. But this thing is all about instant gratification! So happy with it around the house and village, it's always ready for an outing. Makes me laugh to think how I anguished when reading how "big/bulky/heavy" the Solo 2 is in reviews before buying it. Guess not having any experience helps, because it's none of those things to me. It is highly mobile for my needs and plenty discreet if you're somewhat aware of your surroundings. Granted my surroundings are pastoral, definitely not city-livin' but still... Charges fast for me and a charge lasts forever, just like this seemingly endless honeymoon...*sigh* And flavour? I'm flipping on the flavour, what a pleasure!

I like tech, I love gadgets but for my medication delivery? I want dependable, fast delivery with no fuss and no app please. Whilst looking for my first vape, I was nearly seduced by sexier offerings but I continue to be so grateful that I listened to the people preaching the Solo gospel. It just works baby and seems to be improving in performance as we get to know one another! I'm not a doctor and yet I'm comfortable prescrbing this device to anyone suffering from a patience deficit who also needs to be high. ;)

hi all, ordered a ed's tnt "blackwood" stem for my solo2 just an hour ago:-),
i had one out of granadillo, from my broken solo1
(yes a solo can break...)
and i wanted to share the information that i managed to fit it to the solo2,
after filing (is this the correct word?) the metal-part a little bit, maybe 0,5 mm, it did not fit directly but it only took me some minutes of "filing" to make it fit.
i guess the blackwood i just ordered will be the same in diameter as my older granadillo one?
is there anybody who already ordered a ed's stem for the solo2 ?
does it fit or does it needs to be "filed?" ?
thanx:-)

I can't speak to whether Ed's stems fit the SOLO 2, but I saw on @PlanetVape website that PVHES stems would not fit a SOLO2.

My 3 inch @Ed's TnT WonG with the turquoise inlay pictured above using it as a WonG with my D020 bubbler doesn't fit the Solo 2. I can't insert it. It's too tight. I use that 3 inch WonG as a mouthpiece as well using my Solo OG.

Edit
Ed will have to make a stem a hair smaller around. I'm not sure if he's been able to get a Solo 2 for measurements?

All he needs is a measurement(s) from a standard Solo 2 stem.
