Good. I think this is the one i have settled on. I just cant seem to justify the $350 for the TM2….believe me i have tried.

For how much i indulge, this seems to be just fine.

Yeah, sorry I continued to belabor the point and go off topic here to talk about the TM, but you can get the TM2 for under 350 and like I said the TM1 is even less as well... I'm excited to try my Roffu with a more pure path using JoDa WPA, but I am still pretty positive there's no way the vapor quality can compare with what I get from TM with a pure pathway too so depends on your own values

I have zero doubt you are correct. I still am having trouble justifying even $300. My Pax3 was $200….and i thought that was a lot for being misinformed (you are not misinforming me, i mean about the shop misinforming me about the pax being “the best) . The roffu for $132 is, honestly, just fine with me.

Values?
What the heck is this, vape shaming?

@Mattater my opinion is that you could do a lot worse than Roffu, it's a sweet tool! I also suggest using the glass wpa/mouthpiece.
I get what shit snacks is getting at. I think he means values as in what experiences i am expecting to get. What i place on top for what i am looking for ergo, taste, draw, battery life, accessories etc.

I only posted here asking if these problems being discussed happen often. If they were, i may have moved on, or tried to use that as a justification for the TM2. But if theyre not happening often, then i would still be interested.

Should i not be considering the roffu to replace my pax3?

Been reading here for a little while…are there issues with this setup?

I got it to "replace" my pax2, and meh? I think they serve completely different roles and people comparing them because they look vaguely alike doesn't really hit. I don't feel differently about my other vapes having had the roffu, but I think it's an incredibly solid vape overall.

I'm really enjoying the on demand aspect, and the stock mp is fine.

As to the cracking... It's been around long enough I'd expect to see this before if it was endemic to the design. That IS plastic in the MP, and nobody has told me what KIND of plastic it is. Not sus enough for me to avoid it, but weird they are denying it now. I hope it's PEEK.

Mine hasn't cracked and I'm using dosing pods and max temps, but I'm also not doing session with long periods of heat. It's one on demand hit with a clear that cools it a bit.

You shouldn't buy a newish vape unless you are sure or willing to take the risk, I guess. It's important to me to see how fast this gets fixed, but the company has been good about that stuff.

Just saying, if you were going to buy a second one, that covers the cost of a TM1...

Tell em to stop making it out of wood. This isn't arts and crafts or 1776. :nope:

Even though mine has a crack I love it and use it daily. I think it is a god deal for what you get
I see that they are $99.00 USD on the Xvape site once again. I think I will get a backup at that price.
I can deal with the issues and I am sure Xvape will come thru.

I turn mine on in session mode, so I don’t have to hold the button. Once it vibrates to signal set temp reached, I take a hit, usually within 30 seconds or less, I take a 2nd hit as the load is now heat soaked from my 1st hit, and immediately turn the unit OFF. I set my “off” timer for 3 minutes, and rarely ever get that far. I imagine if I used higher temps longer, the CRACK in the top piece would be worse. Also having many other device choices, my Roffu is not heavily used, that’s why I was originally surprised at this defect.

I doubt the material is “peek”, that’s a material that can take very high temps, and is fairly expensive.

Thanks to Old Stoners posts above including the photo that is almost identical to mine in showing the crack, I at least don’t feel that I am the only one with this issue. Though in one of the CS emails (going on two weeks now), they said:
“Normally the heat donot cause crack but drop hit will have .
anyway , we will response to you after analysis by our team.”

I assume the “team” is the company based in China. You see the implied implication that the unit was dropped, but it wasn’t and I doubt Old Stoners was either. These cracks are obviously from the close proximity to the heated bowl, so perhaps they are now scrambling to address what could become a larger issue as more units are purchased.

Keep an eye on yours, look carefully with a flashlight, the cracks start small, and are initially hard to see.

Haha sorry my dude I just meant what mattater explained really, depends what you value in your purchase, literally what you want from the product you are buying is all I meant... No shame at all, I recommend both of these vapes a lot, as they fit alternative values (not saying one is better than the other or that anyone who prefers one over the other is right or wrong to feel that way)

I have zero doubt you are correct. I still am having trouble justifying even $300. My Pax3 was $200….and i thought that was a lot for being misinformed (you are not misinforming me, i mean about the shop misinforming me about the pax being “the best) . Yeah it's just a weird thing in general valuing vaporizers especially when you are comparing here and in stores, when you look at exactly what you are buying, definitely getting most bang for your buck here in many ways although of course there are still trade-offs and this isn't the perfect device universally...

I get what shit snacks is getting at. I think he means values as in what experiences i am expecting to get. What i place on top for what i am looking for ergo, taste, draw, battery life, accessories etc.

Yes exactly it's what the buyer is looking for, no product is without any issues from every buyer, so it's always a value proposition of weighing the pros and cons, benefits and trade-offs of the products that fit your supposed needs...

I’m sorry I ever mentioned the name I will not say again in the Roffu thread, everyone should do the same. :bang:

I’ll be over in the Anvil thread talking about the TA.

LOL yes just another example of why we have the no comparisons rule within specific product threads, although it is flexible, how you frame the discussion, but you don't want to expose the likelihood of back and forth over product superiority (again vapviking apologies for the miscommunication I was not trying to imply that at all) Ultimately the products are all quite different despite their obvious similarities and the consumer just needs to decide what is best for them

I got it to "replace" my pax2, and meh? I think they serve completely different roles and people comparing them because they look vaguely alike doesn't really hit. I don't feel differently about my other vapes having had the roffu, but I think it's an incredibly solid vape overall.

Yes yes that's exactly what I mean, we're looking at portable vaporizers, of course there are so many similarities, but there are so many differences once you realize how complicated the practice really is...

This is a fantastic product and I would argue one of the best value overall what you get for the price though that does not make it the best universally for all

Tell em to stop making it out of wood. This isn't arts and crafts or 1776.

Exactly if you really prioritize wanting the sleek industrial design style electronic device then this would be the best option for you over that more analog experience

I'm obviously going to do a head to head comparison once I get my WPA so it is more apples to apples, although I also feel like I want to get another new Roffu too (plus the capsules to try with v3pro as well) and I would like to start a new thread to do so!

I’m sure they are going to get a suggestion from someone here to add the CU shell to their list of nice cheap spare parts, I’d be happy with that. :2c:
I put in a request for it to be added a few days ago as it is deemed a consumable item due to this cracking issue.
Mine hasn't cracked and I'm using dosing pods and max temps, but I'm also not doing session with long periods of heat
Sorry to hear of your problem but I am glad you reported it as others should also if it happens early on. I will add about half of my use was with the glass on a j-hook @180-200c unless on a bong then max temps and no cracks on my 6300+ puff unit.
Even though mine has a crack I love it
I am sure Xvape will come thru.
Please open up a ticket here, the more reports of this problem the faster a solution.

And/or,

I assume the “team” is the company based in China.
If Southern California (Chino to be precise so sounds close) is part of China, you are correct, the devices are manufactured to our spec in China though.
the implied implication that the unit was dropped
I doubt a drop would hurt it as I explained to head office when I asked them to fix your problem as I have thrown my unit against a brick wall for it to then fall on the cement. I have soaked the top cap in 100% iso as well and it still only shows scratches from my accident.
If anything I thought the cooling cap looked like it was stepped on, not dropped.:2c:
I want to get another new Roffu too (and the capsules to try with v3pro as well) I would like to start a new thread to do so!
At only $99 you probably should and a separate thread for comparisons are always interesting so I look forward to it.
The $99 price is for the Onyx Grey version only and sorry, but the X-mas current discount code JINGLE does not stack on the special price.

Well I don’t know where my CS emails end up, by the misuse of the English language in my communications, I assumed there is a corporate office in China, just like most of these types of products, ECig vaporizers as well. Awhile back, many of these Chinese based companies opened small offices in the US. Also the time stamps in the emails they send, and delay, indicate a large time zone difference. Perhaps there is a Chinese employee in SoCal working all through the night…. :)

Appreciate your efforts!

I think this thread has had enogh "flexibility" with the product comparisons, so let's please stop discussing other vapes in the Roffu thread. Anyone who would like to continue those discussions, feel free to make a comparison thread in Ask FC.

Thank you.

Well I don’t know where my CS emails end up
I would say the emails ended up in China, so the engineers could try to work out your problem as it was not (then) a standard known problem that may(then), but will(now) have to be addressed.
If there is a known problem that was brought up they would have simply replaced the unit for you.
Our head office is where most problems get handled and you can only phone them during normal business hours PST.

So. I think i am gonna pull the trigger on the ruffo this afternoon after @LesPlenty ‘s link for $99 (thank you btw).

Just one question, and this is no way will make my decision stray from grabbing it today….is there ANYTHING i will need to enhance the experience? Any add-ons i should/need to purchase? Screens? I wont be going with a WPA for it as i already have that setup that works with my “other” device.

Thank you again for all the help and suggestions.

I'm still suggesting the wpa, but as much for the glass mouthpiece experience.
I find the loading funnel useful.
Both are inexpensive.
Does the $99 Onyx come with glass chamber? That's the one I use, but folks are also using the metal it seems.

It looks like it comes with the metal chamber, the glass was $6, so i added that, but honestly, the wpa is $10. I may as well just get that …..

I don't think so I barely even use the WPA attachment I actually prefer the factory mouthpiece. The WPA is only cool to me because it's easier to clean but this device works pretty solid right out the box The biggest difference would be the glass chamber just my honest opinion. You'd be better off spending your money on better batteries

Better batteries. Gotchya. Would you happen to have a link for them? I also saw a video review of the ruffo a week ago that said not to charge the batteries in the device itself, but to use an external battery charger. Not sure if i need all that, but i wouldnt be opposed to getting an extra battery.

I really haven't touched the WPA after the one time I tried it. It's ok, but having an all in one unit with such fantastic vapor cooling and quick results has made it a permanent fixture on my desk. But like.. get it anyway since shipping is expensive on small items. Maybe you will like it.

Don't worry about charging batteries in the device. That's what the charge plug is for. lithium ion charge circuits aren't alien tech, they are reliable and established.

I charge mine in the device I also do have a external I'm just lazy I do keep an eye on it though I don't let it go while I'm not home or something like that. Because I read a horror stories but out of all my years I've never had a problem even when I was using my cheaper e-cigarettes back in the day.

I see it come up often when it's a vape with a charge port, but it's totally silly when you think about it. Are you all prying open your cell phone/laptop/earbuds/flashlights/speakers/appliances/Mice etc to charge them instead of relying on the internal circuit? No, of course not. Lithium ion charge circuits are like a penny at this point, and fit inside lights the size of 2 dosing caps.

It's a solved issue, unless you buy a REALLY cheap or faulty product. And to that end, make sure your charger is actually designed to charge properly. Some dodgy cheap items have bad or no charge control. The Roffu isn't a dodgy cheap faulty product, and you should only charge outside of the device if it's a convenience thing.

Yeah let us know how you like it? I think you will have a hard time finding a better vape for that price as I paid the same price and I have zero regrets it's been absolutely amazing for me and blows big clouds. The cool thing about this device is is so customizable with the different options they give you you just got to spend time to dial it in to your preference.
