XVape XLUX ROFFU

I was just on the 420EDC site, saw the “disc filter”, still being sold, now I understand what you have been referring to. I assume the early models had the “disc filter”, mine came with the wire screen, which I assume is stainless steel.
You're saying that a Roffu you ordered recently already has a wire screen instead? If so, then maybe I dont need to order these third-party screens. I'll have to see if mine has it whenever it arrives I suppose.

What's the big difference with the plate or wire anyways? It's just easier to pull, I guess?

I made a "back to back" post and tried to correct it by deleting the other message...but it wouldnt let me. Can you not delete your own posts?

but...what is the Roffu "CU"
Sorry for being a lazy typer, yes, cooling unit refers to the whole top piece.
Mesh screen is easier to keep clean and goes longer without clogging, flat screen with holes (often called machined or punched screen) clogs up on you faster is all...
Thanks for the clearer explanation.

That would be a new V3P or attachments for it.
As I said earlier, some like the little bit of extra conduction from the punched-hole plate filter, nice to have both options and a cheap upgrade.

Thank you! I'm a little confused by how this works then.

This is the screen that's above the heating path, beneath the bowl (that also has it's own screen), that you're pulling air up and over the bowl through, right? How would anything be going the opposite direction downward in the unit to get clogged if you're using a bowl-screen also on top of it? It seems like that wouldnt happen but idk obviously.

In other news, my roffu delivery got delayed and is MIA "in transit" with no scans lol. So it didnt show up yet but soon hopefully!

Hopefully, this will explain,

Thanks, you didnt have to do a video but I apprecaite it! Oh! There's a screen above the bowl also before the air goes through spiral airpath in the mouthpiece. I didn't realize that. So 3 screens,...there's a screen above the heating element, a screen on the bottom of the glass bowl, and a screen that sits above the glass bowl that's attached to the mouthpiece.

So does this mean that I could take a pull from the roffu while laying down with the unit being upside down? The material would be falling against the mouthpiece screen and contained in the bowl still, I assume.

A couple days more with the roffu and I'm really impressed with the clouds it chucks. I take back that it needs more power, and have backed down to 420F. This is on demand with capsules. I can get a good rip (tested only indoors for now) on the first pull now that I've gotten used to it.

The long on demand timer makes or breaks this mode vs others with their short timer. I can even go back in for another draw while still holding if I want. In fact, the roffu kicks out vapor on the first pull, but lord help you if you go in for more. The heater just doesn't quit!!!

The ui and button placement continue to be annoying. I feel like no matter how I hold it the button isn't positioned comfortably. Still, it's so good in on demand that i would never switch over to session to give my hand a break.

Did I mention I really am enjoying having a reliable performing on demand electric portable? Because I am!

Do you feel like it was able to neutralize??

How's the fund it surprising for you to say there are many in this bracket that don't require burn off, in my experience most of its main competitors have the same issue?

It's not noticeable in the on demand modes with the cbd to mask it. I tried to puff on session a bit with nothing in there (after I'd used it normally a bunch) and could still feel the taste. It could also be that I was cooking it so hard doing session burnoffs at 428 that it was more noticeable than it would otherwise be. Hoping it goes away completely.

I'd be happy to candidly chat about the other thing over pm if you care to. No worries if not, but I won't nuke the thread with it. :)

That is because 3x clicks enters the Puff Count screen, a lot of ecigs use 5x clicks...still bit of a pain!

Yes, the vapor only travels over a small part of this, from the top of the CU seal until it gets to the cooling spiral that has a s/s sleeve. You can bypass it altogether with the new WPA/mouthpiece.

The V3Pro and Roffu caps seem to fit the best.

Only if you think it needs it but don't leave the LCD screen in direct sunlight for hours.

Me too,

Other than a shoehorned in novelty, what is the purpose of the hit counter? It seems it hobbles the whole ui. If I had my way, it would be:

-3 clicks on and off
-hold 5 seconds in session mode to access the counter

And everything else the same.

Thanks for the tip on the capsules. The POTV capsules still work very well, with maybe the performance difference being that they hold less. That said, there is a marked difference between them and the Roffu caps.

Smell is from the heater itself, nothing else. The rest of the roffu was smell free, needing only a cursory cleaning.

Hopefully, this will explain,

I never knew I needed vape explanations in a chill, easy going, aussie accent. Yet here we are. Please rep for all companies thx.

I didn't get that type of screen. Could you tell me the size so I can go order a bunch?

Yah, and the inhale will serve to suck it up against that screen from any angle. Roffu in zero G if you want.

Oh, yeah sorry, I was describing when the screen is on the other side, the actual mouthpiece screen, the one you mentioned above I refer to as the heater screen (to protect it) but it's all clear now right!
Love ya @LesPlenty

For sure dude, always happy to chat privately, hit me up, your take on this one lines up pretty well with mine! Glad it is fitting your needs so well and you are enjoying it

Also agree about the puff counters, they seem useless in every device I've ever seen that had one lol

Some like it to keep track for when a deep clean is due, I just like the novelty myself, I liked how it counted 650-something puffs between cleaning of the OG CU!

The heater is Kanthal. Some peeps are sensitive to the Kanthal signature, others are sensitive to heated stainless steel. I believe this may be what some people are 'smelling' as it also appears with peeps on other devices with Kanthal at times in small numbers like here.:2c:
This is on demand with capsules.
If you only use capsules you can leave out the CU mesh filter for better airflow.
DDave mesh filters are here, Ti or S/S,

I used on-demand a few times but just find it easier to furiously click '5' times on/off instead. I cannot be bothered with on-demand even with the new glass mouthpiece that makes it easier to hold the Roffu at any angle while using it.

Agree, that’s how I use mine.
Wondering if anyone else has seen this issue: Every now and then, when turning the Roffu ON, with the 5-clicks, the screen briefly says “Roffu”, on black background, then immediately turns OFF. Another 5-clicks and it boots up normally.

Yes sometimes in a row. I think mine has to do with the battery contact on the lid. I cleaned the contact once with a little vinegar and always push the lid in to be seated closed when it does this now. I swap the battery every other day and noticed it more when I'd switch

Happens for me sporadically....if I had to guess I'd say it happens once out of every 10 sessions. No big deal.....

My package tracking hasnt been updated in days, hasn't been scanned since the 16th. I'm starting to wonder if it got lost, unsure whether I should file a ticket. . My anticipation is palatable.

I think I saw some others post in here about the package tracking stalling and then randomly being delivered a few days later, so I'm hoping for the best.

I ordered mine from EDC, and the last scan had been the 17th, and a couple days later it got scanned again and says that delivery is on schedule to deliver it tomorrow.
If you still don't see a scan for yours by tomorrow, you could check in with whoever you ordered it from and ask them about it. Usually there's nothing they can do until it's considered lost by the post office.

This is the first I have heard of the fault described, do you peeps with the fault have a unit with the '-' stamped on the battery door contact? (no '-' stamp denotes the older model before some issues were found and fixed.)
The unit has gold-plated battery contacts to alleviate these sorts of problems.:hmm:

Mine has the negative “-“ on the latch. When this occasionally happens, it’s in my hand, don’t believe I’m putting any pressure on the bottom latch, I immediately click 5 times again, and it boots up. It’s seemingly random, between maybe every 3-5 times in between uses.

Yes my unit has the stamp. It rarely happens to me and I can't intentionally get it to trip up

It will be arriving late it says (was scheduled to be delivered on the 18th),...but it did get scanned this morning now, so that's good.

Mine does not have the '-'. Its not a huge problem for me because once the glitch occurs it only requires I restart ONCE and we're back in business.

-Thanks for the tip on removing that screen all together! It's so much better now!

-I'll keep those screen links on hand. Thanks!

-I never felt like I was sensitive to kanthal in any way, even on the other vapes people complained on. But this is a very strong heater. Either way, it's much less noticeable now. If anything the flavors are just more muted.

-Dumb question but I have to double make sure- heated Kanthal is a safe material for the airpath? I know it's used in ecigs I think?

I just let mine time out when using on demand. The 5 clicks is too much otherwise. But I really do enjoy on demand mode and hot swapping capsules. To that end, I'm really enjoying the roffu even more every day. It's really straightforward and easy to use.

A few people have commented on how much they enjoy the little bit of added conduction with the capsules. As a rule, I never like them but I do find myself using them here.
