So you would say the easy valve doesn't leak, and a solid valve does?
I don't think I'll be purchasing a volcano... Too expensive and if it leaks I'll have the same problem I do now.
Unless most of you have a unit that doesn't leak? I already have a solid valve
Thank you ... Any other people care to share their opinions, please?
Photo of the underside of the chamber would help.
I suspect your metal clips are the wrong way around.
does sucking through a bubbler make a significant difference in the harshness of the hit when vaping at max temps on the volcano? Can someone describe the difference when using a bubbler at high temps?
Without a bubbler I don't find it terribly harsh but I'm curious.
I have owned a Solid Valve equipped Digital Volcano for over 5 years and I don't EVER have problems with it leaking. The only time it leaks is when the valve assembly is really dirty and is way overdue for a cleaning. Other than that, everything continues to perform flawlessly. I have had thousands of sessions with it, and it never fails to perform. That is what I would expect from a unit that cost me about $800 when new. I am a satisfied customer. So you would say the easy valve doesn't leak, and a solid valve does?

Nope. They were not the wrong way around. I don't think they would fit any other way since the bottom of the clips go into the legs
Do they make a finer screen for the top? Is this normal for material to get passed the top screen?
No, all plastics used for all parts of the Volcano are high heat safe.
Jman, you've raised so many problems about the Volcano that in half a decade of ownership and use I have never heard of before, and yet you can't post any pictures to show the problems you're having so that we or S&B could help you?
The problems you're having sound like simple user error, and if you put some pictures or video up of the issues you're having, I bet we could solve them.
Or convince you that there's no actual issue, like the last post you made about ceramic induced silicosis dangers
Hey I was finally able to give my volcano a thorough testing last night, went through about 20 bags with two friends and we were just toasted the whole night.
1. My filling chamber did not snap down perfectly, the bag was able to knock it over due to the weight of it on its side, so that leads me to wonder how I can fix this or if I should just fork out 10 bucks for a new chamber.
2. Where are some cheap replacement bags, I would like a small one but also a 3 foot or something similar in size for bigger groups.
Volcanos have been producing big clouds for over a decade. The Herbalizer is a much newer unit I haven't tried and couldn't tell you about the quality of it's vapor. I have tried the Herbalaire which is also a bag capable unit. It has no valve system so you suck on a sticky gooey thing you have to put your finger on to seal, it takes a long time to fill, and has a cumbersome external pump.I have always been intringued by bag vaporizers and have tried pretty much every kind except them. Which would you say is the best? The herbalizer with its bag? Though I see extra screens aren't in stock and that would be a problem. Or is the volcano the best. I am not expecting a bag vaporizer to be the best vape but do you guys think it is worthy & can produce big clouds?
What are everyones packing techniques? I was able to get great vapor last night but even when I cranked my dial to around ~8 I wasnt getting that thick of bags all the time. I was thinking this might be due to the chamber I have not snapping down on the volcano.
I bought my volcano used and it came with an easy valve filling chamber and one standard easy valve along with one aftermarket one. The filling chamber doesnt snap on with the easy valve, but apparently @olivianewtonjohn also makes a point that his doesnt snap on either.I personally don't pack it at all. I use as fine a grind as possible and fill the chamber to about 5-8 mm in thickness, about .4 grams. My go to Temp on the classic is 6. Depending on quality of the flowers, I'll get about 6-7 nice thick bags. I'll end up with the dial at 7-7.5 on the last bag. I don't usually go above this temp, the vapour becomes almost too thick. There's a time and place for those type of bags .
Also stirring the chamber around bag 3, nets a nice vapor boost and regrinding the material will let you get even more out of your flowers. This is all using the solid valve. YMMV.
What size bag? You should try new metal clips, maybe that will provide more resistance so it doesnt fall over.I bought my volcano used and it came with an easy valve filling chamber and one standard easy valve along with one aftermarket one. I plan on buying one of the starter sets but I cannot decide if I want the solid valve or easy valve... Some say the solid valve requires less herb which would be nice, but do they perform any different than an easy valve? I was thinking if I bought a solid valve set I would have an easy and solid valve to use but I always wonder if my easy valve chamber is broken. Like I said before it can be knocked over quite easily so Im curious if its worth it to just get a new easy valve system or switch it up with the solid valve.
Is there a way to test if the easy valve fits correctly? I tried fiddling with the clips on the bottom to give a more secure connection, I just wonder why my chamber can fall over if a bag is inflating on its side.
normal sized bag, is there somewhere I can buy new clips? What size bag? You should try new metal clips, maybe that will provide more resistance so it doesnt fall over.
The solid valve's chamber is a slightly smaller diameter if i recall correctly. That and the plunger might be the reason why it's a bit more efficient. I do not grind my herb nearly as finely with my Volcano as I would with my MFLB and not quite as fine as my Cloud Evo. I fill my chamber anywhere from just enough of a sprinkling to cover the screen, up to half the depth of the chamber. That's a bit more wasteful. With a small sprinkling I can get 2-3 bags of good vapor and with 4x the amount it's 3 bags of great vapor and one bag of okay staleish vapor at 390 or 400f.
(my bags are not 'standard sized') YMMV
