They may... I have a unit with cracks above the battery and its been close to a yr now... Unit works fine... Battery has no issues keeping contact... Use it daily with WPA and it still works great.
Was really hoping Vivant would come out with a version 2.... Design is great IMHO... Just need to use better plastic
Or possibly aluminium?

Is it medical grade?

I have a Vivant Alternate and the main body casing has cracked leaving a missing piece.
I email Vivant and they want me to ship my used vaporizer so they can determine if it meets their warranty requirements for a replacement.
IDK: Can anyone help me out here?
I am in Canada and I am leary of sending a used vaporizer over the boarder. Especially with the US Governments paranoia about weed.
I am worried if my package gets inspected and if there is a trace amount in the vaporizer (Cleaned as best as I can), I could have the packaged seized.
Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum, too bad your first post is about a problem.
Pretty ordinary on Vivants part, especially seeing it is a known problem, probably one of the reasons PIU will not stock these anymore, too many problems and not enough fixes.
I am in the same boat as far as customs are concerned and that is one reason to try to purchase in the same country to start with, if possible.

First it looked like a scratch but now you can see that it is completely broken in this area.
I could never believe that such a crack(like described in posts before) will come if I take care.
But my alternate was never fallen down and is just a half year old and got this crack too now.
Never used the usb port btw.
I got it from PlanetVape.
Anybody here with experience if this is a warranty case?

After two mouthpieces going bad, I'm now seeing cracking around the USB port in addition to a couple of fine cracks beside the bowl heading toward the battery. The unit has never been dropped.
@Vivant thoughts? Should I be concerned charging my battery via this USB port? I loved this vape, but I'm struggling to stay faithful to a device that's breaking more and more every day.

Mine cracked in exact same spot. What is going on with these vapes? I've never used the usb to charge either. Only battery swap. Never dropped either
I baby all my devices. I've already contacted PIU again. That is two times in less than a week.

this vape is useless i am now on my 4th i got my newest 1 yesterday and it has already started to crack above the battery they really should pull this thing from sale

That was over a year ago, and things are the same.
I was sent 3 revisions of the top piece, but have never had to use them, and am still on my first top piece/mouthpiece assembly.
I have had great luck with this vape, which is still on it's original battery also.
My favorite temperature to use is 380, and at minimum one session a day is done with the Alternate.
No cracks have occurred anywhere on my unit, which has provided me with good use.

thats great i just wish mine was the same i really like it when it is working i just can't keep it working this last 1 was used prob 10/15 times i had it about 24 hours before it went that's just not good enough really yes i know it is cheap but less than 24 hours use is ridiculous

As long as people keep buying it, Vivant will keep making it, there is so much bad press for it on the net I am amazed it is still being purchased, shit plastic and hit and miss reliability, bit like the Mighty, just not as expensive, I keep hoping to hear of a decent upgrade for both as the vapor sounds great(for both)
