Doesn't it show the remaining battery as your using it? If it doesn't, I'm totally reading mine wrong which is very possible. I'm still waiting for some kind of simple instructions for which buttons to push for what and when.
Hello
@little maggie , I had posted the quick guide that explains the simple instructions of what button combination means what a few pages ago on this thread but here it is for your convenience:
While screen is blacked out, press any button once to wake up the display screen.
Press “power” button 5 times to turn device OFF completely.
While device is OFF, simultaneously hold “+” and “power” button for 10-12 seconds to enter Buzzer Volume Mode. This is where you can adjust the volume of the buzzer.
While device is OFF, simultaneously hold “+” and “-“ button for 2-4 seconds to flip the display screen for either right or left handed preference.
While device is OFF, press “power” button 5 times to turn device ON.
While device is ON, simultaneously hold “+” and “power” button for 2-4 seconds to enter Timer Setting Mode. This is where you can adjust your safety timer preference.
While device is ON, simultaneously hold “-“ and “power” button for 2-4 seconds to enter Stealth Mode.
While device is ON, simultaneously hold “+” and “-“ button to LOCK screen on device.
When temperature preference is set on display screen, hold onto “power” button until it beeps and LED turns green to start the heat up process.
Device will beep 3 times when it is ready to be vaped.
During a session while the LED is green, hold onto the “power” button to end the session before timer ends. This will automatically end the current session and bring the temperature back down.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions or concerns and I will be more than happy to address them for you. Thank you!!
The more I use this thing, the more it suprises me..
Had to modify the buttons though.. better visibility
and im suprised adding a beep/notification before battery dies isnt something that can be added to a future firmware update.. really suprised.. oh well
also, my mouthpiece is beginning to smell, i read (here or on reddit, i cannot remember) someone used iso and it fogged up the plastic. the manual recommends half iso/half water... but i was wondering if the person with the fogged up mouthpiece used half/half..
anyone know what im talking about?
Hello
@xlr8shun , sorry for the miscommunication, it was my mistake. What I meant when I said " unfortunately is not possible at this time ", was that due to the team working very diligently on the next 2 firmware updates, this is not one they are working on or able to work on right now. It does not mean the Alternate is not capable of having this function in the future. I am sorry, it was my wording that misrepresented the statement, please accept my apologies.
As for the gentleman whom reached out to us about a white layer on his top cap after cleaning it with alcohol, he stated he was cleaning with 91% isopropyl alcohol. I reassure you that cleaning with a solution mixed equal parts (50% and 50%) of a combination of water and isopropyl alcohol will be completely safe for your Alternate parts. Thank you!
The internal portion of the mouthpiece of mine turned white after a quick 91% ISO soak.
It looks weird, and the 'white stuff' kinda wipes off but not really.
In my somewhat professional opinion, these parts should withstand ISO soaks.
It's pretty much the standard way to clean these parts. I do not plan to dilute my ISO and scrub harder in my cleaning process. These parts should be made with a more resistant material.
I emailed Vivant and they told me they'd be selling replacement parts soon in case I wanted to replace.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hello
@ohmygodimsohigh , I believe I was the one responding to you via email as I recall the situation and my response. Yes, there are certain plastic parts that can withstand 91% or even 100% ISO soaks, but this is generally not recommended and not the standard for cleaning plastic with alcohol.
I've also done much research via the web on this topic myself when I joined the company and studied the product. Here is a link from a credible source on generally how to clean plastic with Isopropyl.
http://www.ehow.com/how_6327959_clean-isopropyl-alcohol.html
A equal part mixture (50% alcohol and 50% water) is the standard and general rule when it comes to cleaning any type of plastic with alcohol hence the reason that is what we recommend as well. Alcohol is a strong source and will weaken any plastic when used in too high and potent of a cleaning solution. So while some can withstand it, I truly believe it is still damaging in the long run.
The white substance is just from the oxidization and is not harmful.
I'm sorry this is an inconvenience for you. We truly hope to make everyone happy but there is only so much we are capable of doing and providing. I wanted to notify you that we would be making spare parts available for purchase in case you wanted to have extra top caps as some people have been inquiring about it already. I wanted to let you know I could manually process the order for you while we wait on our site to be completely revamped and the accessory parts made available for purchase. I do truly hope you meet us halfway, please feel free to PM us if you have any more issues with your device. thank you! -Emily
