Verdamper vaporizer

Haha that’s excellent Sticks thanks very much for the straight answer, I’ve long longed to see the day yourself tasted the Verdamper’s unique elevating effects.

It puzzles me when people say it’s okay, decent etc, because no other vape gets me high like the Verdamper did however I go about it.

And the potential speed and ease to reach those heights too, no fiddling. It did cut through my tolerance too, in how every single day it was like an equal effect, like I wasn’t capable of building a tolerance to it.

Glad you are enjoying it. Tell these man’s enit, my street cred will benefit lol. :)

Check out the end of the stream Troy and I did on the PAX a couple weeks ago. I ended it with four PAX's on El Nino, and then compared that to the Verdamper afterward. It's heavy!

@VapeEscapist - that stand!

Okay I’m interested thanks. I’m assuming discord. I did try join Troy’s own discord months back but couldn’t find my password for something I must Have forgotten I had already registered for lol.
So I will fix that.

It never feels right with me though Sticks, how IME and O, the most elevating in such instant style Verdamper effects, still remain so widely unknown.

I felt it a shame too, nothing critical towards Bud who I stand by firmly, that he never once used it himself.

Hence, it bringing some joy to hear you have one. I just like to see justice done.

I never microdosed. I typically loaded 0.4 minimum, or 0.6. I’d have 4 or 5 effortless huge hits, and be good for the rest of the day, save half the load for later.

It's on our YouTube channel. Search for Troy and Jerry think dank.

I hit it last night on the Simrell Cage. Still crushes, but the big glass probably effects things as well.

Thanks, much appreciated I’ll def be checking it out.

I strongly feel, a significant part of the Stock Verdamper’s magic is the surface area to the vapor.

It’s so spread out, in multiple layers.

My first ever use of it was in Jan 2009. I picked up a heinous chest infection Dec 23rd, my new, hopefully Best ever vape lol, one that would actually meet my needs, arriving 7.30 am Dec 24th 2008.

No FC for me then, 9 years of vaping but nothing decent- OG Master Blaster- Vapir NO.1, Vapureyes.

So it killed me having to wait 7 weeks to use my exciting new Christmas toy.

I had a taste though. One whole 0.1 gram nugget of Durban Poison.

I took one gentle toke. I saw no vapor, felt nothing but my chest infection reacted with irritation.

But I exhaled a huge, partly visible cloud and saw the massive surface area to such a small amount of vapor. I swear it’s a factor. I was high for hours too from that one barely visible toke.

Dec 23rd, it was out of the Aromed or the Verdamper.

I wanted something that could send me to the moon effortlessly and any visitors present.

I definitely made the right choice at the time.

I'm really late to the party but am looking for a solid desktop unit and love the idea of having an all glass unit. I absolutely loved using de Verdamper in Amsterdam and was amazed at the vapor quality and immediate effects. ;) I only used the "Deluxe" version there but have been considering getting the smaller "Traveller" version which uses a jar. Does the Traveller deliver the same kind of hits as its bigger brother? Some people have mentioned that the unique "wide area" of the Deluxe unit might be the reason why the vapor quality is otherworldly. I've also considered just getting the heating element and power supply and pairing it with a glass piece assuming the size is compatible but maybe one needs to get the "whole set" to have the ultimate experience.

As much as I loved the Verdamper, the lack of precise temperature control is a concern of mine. I love chasing those terpy hits and starting out at low temps around 160C, so this is a strike against the Verdamper. I've also been considering the Herborizer as well but again the lack of precise temperature is a concern of mine... The Aromed 4.0 which features precise temp control and the Vapor Brothers box unit are also contenders on my list. Ideally, I'd also like to have a unit which lets me microdose as well as have longer sessions without having to reload and the Verdampfer definitely fulfills the latter. ;)

I'd really appreciate any feedback or suggestions that members have with the Verdamper and how it concerns to the units I mentioned.

The DigiTi Herborizer offers very precise temperature control.

Evert seemed content enough using the small glass jar version with his mobile travel kit out and about.

I do expect the maximum high will still come from the deluxe, due to it spreading out the surface area so much.

But it should still kick.

I hear you on the temp control.

I always said, the only thing the Verdamper was missing is the option of lowering the temp.

You could look for one of the adjustable temp models.

But either way, I think it’s a worthwhile trade off to have simply the best flower vaporiser and you can also do as the instructions actually recommend and begin with raisin size particles breaking them up as you go along. This will be more like typing at a lower temperature and you will be able to appreciate the Terpenes with a more gradual extraction that way.

I’d try that, see if you get a temp adjustable one. Personally, I’d go for deluxe but that will be up to you.

And forget, the Aromed!!

There's a great photo of him using the Traveller floating around on the Net. ;)

Thank you for your comments. Could the heating element be used with another glass piece? I'm a bit concerned about the long-term availability of replacement parts as not many shops stock the Verdamper these days...

Another member on this thread mentioned something a few years ago which is a concern of mine too:

is the nickel-heating element save? i read about outgasing toxins from the metal.
I don't know if that safety concern has been addressed or how risky it is... From what I've read, the Herborizer also has some potential issues with it's heating element too.

And forget, the Aromed!!
Any specific reasons? I've heard good things about it but there are also some potential issues with the materials used and looks like it came straight out of a hospital. 😆

I don’t think there is a danger in vaping with deverdamper, I understood that the collyland controller can go up to 14v if you want to go a little bit harder on the verdamper, but the latest controller also doesn’t said how much Volt your using… the max volt in the verdamper I understand from reading In FC is 12 volt, a normal Ali express volt controller should work fine.

Hiya first of all i would like to say i LOVE this (style) vaporizer. I have one for about a month now. Sadly the head chamber broke today. Ruined my day. But after that it got even worse the stock of verdamper part are cleared out from what i can tell. I looked at the websites i normally browse/buy. Does anyone know where i can still buy one?

tldr; i need a new herb chamber but cant find one online thats in stock. could you look around at your vendor(s)?

I don't have the best track record when it comes to DIY electrical projects, so it would be have to pretty straight forward if I go this route. I'd definitely like to have some ability to adjust temps but I don't think you can get precise temps with the models that let you regulate the temperature...

Hi. Yes I saw Evert on Verdamper walkabouts years back, (like 12.7).

So, there has been a male glass bowl available which will fit directly into any female 18 mm glass piece. So it can be used on any 18 mm water tool.

Longevity of replacement parts I can’t forecast on, I only ever needed one replacement in 6 years ownership and frequent use- the actual bong body one time.

Not the bowl, certainly not the sturdy glass heater.

You could pick up extra bowls now while available, including the male bowl so you have a back up if the main body is unreplaceable some day.

The heater, I always phrased it as the nichrome wire. You could go a purer vapor pathway, on paper, but I honestly don’t think safety, nor even significant if any, toxicity, needs to come into it. Not a concern IMO.

The Aromed, I owned years later, and it was a flip decision between £250 for the Aromed and £431 delivered for the Verdamper Deluxe, 23rd December 2008.

I didn’t want a PITA time taking, effort and concentration demanding, fiddly contraption that could just about meet one single person’s stoning requirements.

I wanted to have limitless stoning on tap, for myself and ani others present.

I went for the Verdamper then and it was the only right choice.

The Aromed does have a unique vapor quality to it, but is the biggest PITA to use I’ve ever known in a vape practically. Just bending and manoeuvring the heating element into place, never getting a fully tight seal, such a poor thought out design and so awkward.

Compared to the ease and pleasure of one handedly, eyes closed lifting the VD heating element on and off, so easy to access the load to stir, empty etc.

I used the Aromed around the clock to just about scratch the surface, it barely satisfied my stoning needs. I won’t say it has no place or appeal, and it does indeed look like a true science lab medical device, but it’s a very different kettle of fish vs the powerhouse the Verdamper is.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Aromed--that's some really useful feedback. Yes, it does sound like a bit of hassle and I imagine having to stir up the mix and reconnect the whip after a few hits could be a major pain... The VD is definitely easy to use even if one is well medicated and that's definitely a huge plus. ;)

That's great to know and the craftmanship and durability of the Verdamper seems exceptionally high. The vapor quality and strength of the hits are amazing but not having precise temp control is still a bit of sticking point for me... I guess I'll have to do some more research and weigh up the pros and cons of the different units I'm looking at.

Tbf, I will argue the temp is precise, and constant, not at all random or variable and I always assume or came to consider less variably calibrated if at all between different units vs other models.

It just isn’t adjustable, but is the same identical level of temperature once heated up, all day, every day, can only be raised by 10-15 Celsius when you cover the top.

I would also still encourage you to look for the newer adjustable temp heater. I know one good member here, longtime super experienced and hardcore Vaporist in USA has one of these adjustable heaters, so although I only saw it in Vaposhop but not more recently, possibly check Verdampftnochmal, and I’m not sure either ship to USA, but Stickstones has one so he may have an idea where to look if you can’t get any luck.

Actually, I just remembered when I very first joined FC in June 2015, my first post I asked about experiences with 3 particular models- the Verdamper which I had sold, replaced with the XL Herborizer which was never going to fill it’s footprint, and the Vriptech Heat Wand which is the only vape really I’m interested in owing to try, just not at the expense it would be all in to UK, shipping, customs, vital spare glass cover at least at $112 and likely to break at least once, possible if not likely electrical failure requiring sending back to US for repair, costly round trip (that’s if my heater has a “passport” by then lol ;)), add in a hefty import VAT fee and we’re talking over £600 for what I would buy in all or not at all.

@stickstones was kind enough I believe to be the first man here to welcomingly respond to me. I recall his words gist… “Alexis, you have asked about 3 high end lesser known vapes. You won’t get a flood or responses, but if you wait a bit, you might get a few.”

Immediately a to become but now lost it seems puzzlingly, and for reasons unknown to me, very good friend here Lazylathe jumped right in in the warmest welcoming and helpful manner he made his trade here long ago and has forever been unanimously respected for.

So Sticks was my first replier, he’s one of the top sounding boards and most widely experienced vaporists here, and yet only this year finally got around to trying the beast out himself which I was really pleased to learn.

Yeah, I definitely would like the one with the adjustable temp heater and the price difference between them isn't that much on Verdampftnochmal. I'd like to have some ability to increase the temp in intervals--I assume it would be approximately 10C between settings and hopefully let me start out somewhere between 160-170C and then take things up a notch. ;)

I found a website that sells the Traveller "jar" version but it looks like it comes with the older heater. This is a complete set and the smaller size is more practical in terms of not taking up too much space but don't know if it gives the same experience as its big brother--really wish I had tried the jar version in Amsterdam...

I suppose I could always mix and match and buy the adjustable temp heater from Verdampftnochmal and a glass piece or use it with any standard bong that fits the bill...

It seems like the heating unit is the most important part of the Verdamper--I assume I come replace the voltage regulator in the future with any compatible generic one but not positive... :hmm:

I guess I need to keep doing research and comparing different options.

Hi. I read this, I’ll try and offer some input but I’m wasted on Acid, weed and lovely Kava lol, but think I can do this.

Okay, ideal world, no perceived physical constraints, deterrences, we have to go with the reasoning I feel, that for the ultimate level of effect via sheer psychoactive availability, not just by extraction which in theory will be identical regardless of configuration down from the heat coil, through bowl, Providing there is sufficient and non-restrictive air flow of course….

Must be more achievable because of that special magical dynamic, the Stock, ideally Deluxe but both, this way you have the combination I believe in the same unique powerful active extraction, coupled with a set up, thin down pipe, and big bowl shape.

It’s a surface area generating way of delivering the already massive, or any size hits of vapor.

But it’s not the only way. If it as me now, in a short life, I’d get the deluxe with adjustable power supply.

At the topper, non hand topped end too, it looked plenty plenty for Stickstones.

And I support your thinking. Start lower, build up, should be easy and should work.

But I, would get Deluxe with adjustable power, PLUS a male 18 mm bowl, and maybe even a jar separately as well why not.

I’m not electronic minded one bit, but I think there is potential for simple electrical maintenance and repair to the heater itself, as long as you simply know what you are doing.

But the Verdamper heater, is more robust than a radiator.

You wouldn’t find a sturdier heating element in any vaporizer.

Just don’t abuse it, it should last very well.

Sorry I tried, I hope that helps I’m really tripping just getting Dark now.

I’ll keep an eye, keep asking, when my head’s about me I’ll offer more if I can.

Respect, man! I don't think I'd be able to write a coherent sentence after all that. 😆

Your advice makes a lot of sense and was very clear. I follow your logic and agree about the wide surface area of the Deluxe version being a huge plus--it really allows the vapor to build up more so than the smaller jar version and that speaks volumes for itself but I *think* it could work with a number of beaker style bongs with a wide base...

I don't know exactly where I'm going with this next thought but I'll try to make some sense without rambling too much. I absolutely loved the Verdamper in Amsterdam but I also think that the sheer "magic" of being in Amsterdam and the overall ambiance of the coffeshops there might play a role as well. I've been there three times and have really fond memories of the place each time, so I'm a little bit worried that I might somehow be a bit disappointed by having the Verdamper back home... Am I nuts? ;) It certainly won't be the same experience as being there but then again, it might trigger some good memories/feelings of being there... :D

Haha I like the pun “speaks volumes.”

I’m an expert at conducting myself regularly and normally, in a physically mobile, mental and communication (verbal and written) nature on just about any dose of LSD.

A milligram for example, I may not be able to type coherently for a short while during the first hyper dimensional hour but it’s just like putting the pen down for a short while, before faculties are restored with a full day’s tripping just beginning.

So on what you say above, I can relate to that thinking, but I can only assure you again, no need for such concerns or apprehensions IMO.

I bet any vaporizer, vape session, experience of cannabis would be more magical, but not at all necessarily, as if it’s the only way because life doesn’t work like that fortunately and it’s all there to be created, in Amsterdam coffee shops.

I went twice myself from UK, 1998 and 2005, but no Verdamper, we walked around a little gallery in 2005, I accompanied a Schizophrenic friend who needed minding there and back, was going to go by himself regardless, and was on the verge of a full Schizo emergence event.

I didn’t enjoy a moment of those 3 days with a 3 yr old like totally unreal, laughing, incommunicable Schizophrenic who I literally brought back with me, making him run so we made our trains etc, or he never would have returned.

I had just begun fully developing Lyme Disease at the same time which flipped my world upside down, totally unhinged me mentally and was when I became allergic to everything in life, so it was hardly a holiday.

But on one of the days, my losing it, erratic mate insisted we visited this Gallery. The Dutch man whose passion and job it was to escort us around, there appeared to be 2 conditions- we had to pause at the bottom floor and admire their beautiful weed plant, behind a glass window, long branches individually suspended by strings from the ceiling.

Second condition, I had to use their vaporizer they designed themselves,

It was a conduction vape. He inserted a heating element into a small, not too small but way smaller than the VD, heating chamber for a minute, I had to use my own weed, which he tossed into the glass chamber after he removed the heat source.

So it was unheated while I actually vaped my 0.3 gram load in very few easy free flowing inhalations.

The glass conduction chamber held it’s heat. I was impressed, I’d never used a vaporizer before that could meet requirements.

It was that exact experience that inspired me in December 2008 to hunt out an equal hitting vape and buy before the 24th.

I had had that experience so I knew what I wanted potentially existed.

That is when I narrowed it quickly down to the Aromed or Verdamper which I came across randomly that day, 23rd December or maybe 22nd, 2008.

I knew of the Volcano then, the world leader it was at the time, but I didn’t want the aluminium electric heater in my airpath after feeling the Aluminium heater in the pathetic Vapir One vaporizer felt inherently toxic.

The Verdamper hits harder and better than the vape I tried in that gallery.

I am sure I could have a whail of a time using the Verdamper with the coffeeshop’s finest weed and special ambience.

But I never had the opportunity. I used it at my home.

I can tell you, it doesn’t matter where you drive the Ferrari, Lamborghini or Mercedes, on the dirt planes in Africa, the North Pole, or the streets of Amsterdam.

Specific terrain related strengths and weaknesses aside, they will still each perform relatively (not- “roughly” but exactly relative to each other) identically.

If you closed your eyes, if you simply like the way the Porsche drives better than the (lol I know nothing of cars trying to think…some other fast flyer basically), then that experience should hold true, to the same relative degree in any situation theoretically IMO,

So no way would I have loved the Verdamper in Amsterdam, then been disappointed at home feeling I’d picked wrong.

As if my happiness, pleasure depends on the coffeeshop. I’d love to frequent the vicinities sure, have no allergies, use every vape and every strain of weed going over there.

But the Verdamper shines and works it’s magic independently of the surroundings. It delivers a high as well as any other vape, relatively.

You can have your cake at home and eat it every single day with the Verdamper basically. That’s my view! Just a very elaborate trip-headed way to put it! :)

That sounds intense! I was lucky enough to be there for King's Day in 2019 when the whole city transforms into one giant sea of orange and I remember leaving a coffeeshop late that night and it seemed like there were a million people in the streets. Trying to navigate those streets without bumping into people while being stoned was a pretty weird experience and the sativa strain that we were vaping was a little too intense for one of my friends who was starting to get a bit freaked out by the CEVs he said he was getting. I told him to just "go with it" like Ricky in the TPB but he insisted on keeping all the damn lights on because he was on the verge of flipping out... The same guy managed to eat an entire brownie by himself later during our stay in Amsterdam without telling anyone and apparently it had no effect on him whatsoever--I was seriously worried that he might jump into the canal and we'd have to fish him out or something. 😨

had just begun fully developing Lyme Disease at the same time which flipped my world upside down, totally unhinged me mentally and was when I became allergic to everything in life, so it was hardly a holiday.
Sorry to hear that! I've had my own share of health related problems and it sure can change everything...

Yeah, I see your point and agree that would be a sweet ride anywhere and you're right that the VD would be an amazing experience anywhere on this planet. :D

You're absolutely right from my experience there and it would be cool to be able to hit it whenever I want. I might have to just go ahead and splurge on this before they run out of units but have some other expenses that I should probably deal with first. Maybe I just need to get my priorities straight... 😆

So i got my new herb chamber. I mailed evert that same day he personally called me back. Turned out i live close to his workplace/storage. I had a vape session with evert the next evening. Tried some new stuff hes working on!
Lucky you! :) If it's not classified info, do you know if he's going to update the Verdamper and when it might appear on the market. This is really exciting news and makes me think that maybe I should be patient and see what Evert has in the pipeline...

Just checking in to see how many new faces got melted, A few i see! I am so settled with the Verdamper i rarely visit anymore which says it all really. But noticed an issue.

The inside is browning up, Would it be safe to dip the tip in iso and dry off? I know on the herbo element that would he OK but is the material used in the verdamper coil safe with iso? If it is i messed up i should of been doing fequent dips to avoid brown buildup.
