TGIF everyone. I just read the last few pages and I thought it was appropriate for me to interject my 2 cents. First of all, there would be no VXL if not for this forum, we will never forget that. We participate in these forums because Troi, Slightly Medicated, myself, etc etc were all forum members long before the Cloud was even an idea in my brain. We don't feel like we are obligated to be here, nor do we think that the forum should feel privileged for having us participate.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, we're just a bunch of guys, no different than you with the one exception that we also build vapes. Between sales, marketing, operations, and manufacturing, we chime in when we can but at this stage of the game, the forum is no longer something that we can put so much of our focus on but we are definitely not disappearing.
While the company has been successful in certain areas, like many startups, we've been operating on slim margins and doing whatever is necessary to keep the company afloat. I still work a full time job if that puts things in perspective. What that means is that we've hit a lot of the goals that we've set out over the last couple of years but there is plenty of work that needs to be completed. In the big scheme of things, if VXL were a football team, we've just returned a kick off to our 10 yard line. We're off to the races but there is still a big hill to climb.
As a growing business, we have had to make some decisions that I disagreed with, or Troi disagreed with, but it is a fact of business that some of your decisions will make people happy and some will piss people off. What we try to do is make decisions that we think would benefit the majority. In the case of the international Clouds, we really needed to get international distribution in place as these were key relationships that are required that can help us expedite our CE certification process.
Like I mentioned earlier, we tried to make lemonade out of lemons. Most folks seem to appreciate the work around we came up with and we knew a few would be bothered by it. For those that don't like the decision we made, you can express your opinion in the way that hurts companies most, by not spending your dollars with us. While we hate to lose potential customers, those are some of the facts of life when you're running a business and we have to take the bad with the good.
