Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

From my experience, it's more stress using it inverted. I very rarely am perfectly pulling it out when it was inverted, and I was worried about cracking the bamboo or the joint by pulling it out at a slight angle. I always pull the Hydratube clear off the top no problems. Ymmv though obviously :)

Thanks for the replies guys. I'd love to try a mini burn off, but sadly it doesn't look like my new Evo turns on at all :(.

I was a little shocked when I first took it out of the box because it appeared to be all covered in sawdust. The plastic body has weird warp-like markings, but I think that may just be normal. After cleaning it up I plugged it in, turned the dial all the way to the right, and flipped the power switch... nothing. I THOUGHT it was supposed to light up red when it was heating up, but the instructions don't seem to list it as doing anything but turning green when its ready.

So far it's been plugged in for 10 minutes with the knob to the right and the power switch on... it doesn't feel hot at all.

RobDaBomb,
Are you sure it's not your herbs that taste funny? You wrote:

Not that disgusting taste like the one before, but at least it was really strange tasting, left me back with a surprised face. CAN THIS REALLY BE TRUE?!?!

Seems unlikely to me.. that two units would go wrong, AND give a different wrong taste.

thanks for the reply Haze Mister

sorry, i think i expressed myself wrong;)
the taste is the same it's just a little less intense but the same flavor - plastic-like/ electronic/ strange/extremely unnatural tasting....

Probably you all think i am a clown and i am the troll of this thread already and i already start to believe that i must be crazy or so, but what more can i say...
I consume for over 15 years now, i already own several vaporizers, tested a lot others more, too. I have never had ANY problems. I am not a fool and I think using the Evo isn't that complicated at all. I think i am able to execute all the steps that are shown in the user manual.

The first time this appeared i nearly had to vomit, it was such an disgusting taste. The 4,5,6 other times it happened were much "softer disgusting" .. i think you get what i mean by this :D

The herbs can NOT be the issue - i already could prove this: After one of those bad hits i got, i pulled the ELB out, just stirred a little bit and vaped again. The taste was normal. So i get normal tasting hits and bad ones from the same ELB. And by "normal tasting" i mean in 95% of the cases (especially the first draw) superb results.

All i want is to try to find a solution for my problem. It is really hard to believe that 2 units should cause the same error and therefore it had to be my fault but what the hell should i do wrong here?!?
What should cause this kind of taste??

Maybe one thing what i want to mention: all my ELBs start to dissolve and i see these ultra fine individual "wires". They sometimes just fall off. Could this cause any issues when falling into the bamboo?
But why should one single wire be an issue when the whole ELB made of the same material is no issue.
Makes no sense, too.

thanks for all serious meant replies

Well it looks like I got uber fucked. Not only does the Cloud Evo not turn on at all, I just opened the box for the Evolver Double and, at first glance, it appeared to be perfect! I was so excited. Then my one friend takes a look at it (who ironically works in quality assurance) and points out how there's a fracture and crack inside the bottom chamber (the tree-like one). It honestly appears like there's a small tiny glass chunk entirely missing from the top dome part of the percolator - which is extremely perplexing as there's no glass floating around inside the chambers and the entire outside of the HT looks fine.

Honestly I'm so annoyed and disappointed right now I'm about to go combust a shit ton of bud and dabs. Later when I'm feeling up to it I'll take some pictures and post them here before contacting VapeXhale.

Whoaa! Just got a shipping confirmation email from VXH, they seem to be really on top of their game. The website says 7-10 days processing due to high demand, yet a mere 24 hours after I ordered it's already on the way.

Could be because I'm local but damn, looks like I'll be blowing serious clouds way sooner than I thought! :science::haw:

I couldn't control myself and wait for the possible V-Day sale so I ordered mine last night, and when I woke up today I got an email saying that it was already shipped! I was counting on it arriving by the end of the month, but I should be getting it before valentines. What a perfect gift for myself. Can't wait to "get medieval on that glass"

Like others have mentioned, be sure the power plug is fully inserted. The stock one is fairly tight, and can require some force to get it in. Seems weird for there not to be a light at all, sounds like it's not getting power.

Good luck!

So, I got a hydratube, actually 2. The ground glass joint does not fit snugly on either. The bottom of the bubbler this the vape before the joint can fully engage. This allows for a leaky seal. It seems I can get a better seal by pressing down hard. Is this normal?

You can see from the images below. The top image, you can see the base of the Hydratube resting on the top of the Vape, preventing the joint from locking. The second picture is just a regular 18mm joint, locking in tight.

Thank you guys so much for your help and sympathies. But.. Yeah, so I hate to say it but it seems my Evo is DOA. I've tried multiple power plugs now and have definitely smashed it in as far as it can go, but still no light. This is crazy, literally the last problem I expected to encounter was it not powering on.

At one point I swore the back of the casing (right above the power socket) was getting warm to the touch for a bit, but the heat never increased or spread, nor did I ever once see the light come on. I was stoned so I more than likely was imagining it, but I thought that maybe this warm feeling meant it was going to keep heating up without the light (this wasn't the case). I decided to prep a dab to be ready in case the vaporizer started working, so I looked in the box and found the nail in its bubble wrap and unopened it to this...

- It's hard to tell but its warped right there with a weird mark on the side of it. Plus there is the obvious scratch/crack there too.

Now as for the Evolver Double HT... well I'm not quite sure if it's just a 'minor defect' or an actual break. As you can see it's got some sort of crack going around the top part of the showercap/tree percolator chamber. It's hard to tell but it almost looks as if it's even missing a chunk of glass entirely in one spot. I put water in it a bit ago to see if it appeared to bubble normally, it's hard to tell without actual vapor/smoke in the chamber but it seemed to work? Although I'm not entirely sure how it's supposed to 'feel' or look anyway, so for all I know it has a leak in the percolator and isn't working properly. Water kept getting into the bottom compartment (where the 18mm female connects to the Cloud) but that may have been due to overfilling or something. I've never used a HT before so it may take a moment to get the hang of... just wish I had a working Evo to at least try it on.

Obviously I'd prefer to return the HydraTube for a replacement, but there doesn't seem to be anything of the same value to replace it with.

I haven't even opened the HydraFoot or standard mouthpiece bubble wrap packaging yet... I'm scared to see what lies beneath! I would want to say the shipment was dropped?? But I swear to you the entire outside of the Evolver Double is spotless, and there doesn't appear to be any loose broken glass fragments inside the HT either. Also there's no way the nail would be warped like this from it being dropped, so I believe all of this was sent from VXL like this.

Ok, i can try whatever i want. O-Ring, cleaning my table /surrounding every bowl i take. The taste stays.

I am out of here i think.

This is so ridiculous. Never felt so mucked around.
The worst nightmare i have ever had.

Since i live in Europe i cannot contact Vapexhale directly and have to rely on what the distributors tell me. and they probably all think i'm crazy.

edit: if someone's want to get entertained a little, read my 20 posts i did since registering here.
From excited and full of anticipation to fucked up all in about 1 month.
Never excepted such a nightmare when buying the Evo. This was all meant as a personal gift and now i have nothing but headaches.

possibility 1: i am going crazy right now and i imagine all that.

possibility 2: there are Evos in circulation (maybe just in Europe?) which do have issues concerning off gassing and i just picked 2 of them.

I assume you all think it's #1 but i would rather doubt that... imho^^

@Verax That HT has a recessed joint that is too deep for a good connection.
This is what you should look at when you are buying custom pieces with recessed joint for an EVO.
Some of them are just too deep and don't work.
This really shouldn't hapen with a HT as its made for EVO, but we've seen it happen few times.
Youshould return that HT and get a replacement.

@RobDaBomb That package sounds like a total failure.
A DOA EVO and a cracked leaking HT?
Definitely send it back for replacement or refund, no reason to keep that.
The deformed nail also doesn' look normal, but that shouldn't make any problems.
But your EVO and HT need to be sent back.

@Drew_de_Verdamper sorry to hear your problems persist. I can't realy think of any otren reason why it's doing that for you.
Maybe the last reason I can think of is that EVO is capable of tasting bad at very high temps and that is normal.
Let me explain - if you set a highest possible temp that doesn't yet combust on a different vape with less powerful and uniform heat...
...then it typically vapes a brown spot in the center (there it releases somewhat bad tasting high-temp vapor and is just below combustion).
...but the offcenter of the bowl gets blasted with a lower temperature and releases tasty vapor that makes the whole mix taste good.

In the EVO however, if you set a very high temp that is not far from combustion - every cubic milimeter inside of the bowl will be blasted with the same high temperature. So every milimeter of the bowl will release high-temp vapor and no tasty low-temp vapor to mix in and make it taste good. Also it makes the hit really powerful and milk up the tube, if you heat every part of the bowl uniformly just below combustion, you will also etract it all like in one big hit.
So yes, EVO (and OG Cloud does this too) taste bad on high temps - that's normal for weed when it get heated so completely like this yet not combust.

Been considering selling my sublimator for an evo, currently own a cloud plus and was wondering if any cloud plus users had comparisons between the two and if upgrading is worth it?

The only time I ever got a second vxl product was when the one I was using broke. I've had a beta Cloud, a Cloud+, and an Evo and I can't tell the difference. Now, I never had them at the same time, but I never looked back at one and thought it was better than any of the others.

Soooo...I wouldn't sell the Sub for a second Cloud/Evo. I'd rather have the variety that a Cloud/Sub combo provides.

Wow, really upsetting to read about all these first time users having so many difficulties out of the box. The complete opposite of my own experience with my unit! I guess I got in just as they were starting to do all those massive sales, so perhaps I got my Evo before things started getting stressful and (seemingly, to my eyes) taking a turn for the worse. All I can say is that I'm sorry you guys are all so justifiably frustrated! I hope it all gets sorted out ASAP and that VXL lives up to its reputation by taking excellent care of you all.

Toke it up! Just got my Evo today and it's thread page 420!!. Did anyone else get a bag of smart food popcorn in their Evo box? Mine also didn't come with a Hydrafoot.

Haven't toked in a week because I didn't want to smoke anymore and wanted to lower my tolerance for the new vape after taking bong rips for the past few years. When it arrived i didn't have flower but had some pollen in my grinder. Holy fuck. I am very much baked. There was probably about an inch or so of pollen in the ELB. But man did it do work.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks for the help and input guys. Luckily VXL is making sure I'm left headache-less from this experience. Sure the condition of my entire order sucked, but at least they're going out of their way to fix and make up for this fluke.

I watched a Cannabis Podcast episode with Seibo Shen a few weeks back and he was saying how they were in the final stretch of raising a million dollars to help design and release new vaporizer models. So perhaps, to save money now, they've been mailing out old units that have been sitting in a warehouse for a while or ones that didn't pass as high of quality checks?? I hate to think that, but man I wish I took a picture of the Evo covered in the sawdust... at the time though I expected the unit to still work so I didn't think too much of it. Like nearly half of the unit was covered in a layer of sawdust.

I don't really want to stoner speculate too much into it though, because the 20+ email conversation I've already had ongoing with VXL proves to me that their customer service makes everything worth it. Plus I'm glad to hear that not everyone who recently received their Evo's are having issues (@OhThatYourGirl).

It's a shame me and a few others have had some bad first product impressions lately, but I can gladly say that my experience so far with VXL's customer service has been one of the best I've ever experienced yet in my life. I will not let this bad impression impact my view of VapeXhale as a company. As a matter of fact, I even think higher of them now than I did before. I found it extremely nice that - for the first time in my life - I didn't need to verbally speak to someone just to get a problem resolved. The morning after I sent my email to them they replied with an IMMEDIATE solution. Hell, they didn't even wait for my response or anything! Instead they instantly mailed out both replacements and said they are in the process of issuing a 50 dollar refund. I was worried I wasn't going to hear from them or have my Evo replacement sent out until next week... but nope!

They are giving me a 50 dollar refund (I'm assuming for the HydraTube quality) and they said after I receive my new Evo to test the broken Evolver Double for a bit -- if I'm not happy with my results then we'll go from there.

It puts me in a hard spot though because I do imagine the HT will work... sure vapor may leak out of the top of the percolator, but I doubt water will leak into the Evo. Although obviously this isn't ideal and a replacement should be issued.. except there are no more Evolver Double's in stock. So I'd imagine a replacement will be of lesser value and this is why I think they gave me the 50 dollars back - to make the total cost relatable to one of their house glass HTs instead.

Thanks again very much for trying to help me out, @Seek . Really appreciate it.
But unfortunately, what you describe isn't the problem what my unit has.
These bad flavors occurred also on the very first draws with a temperature set at about 12 o'clock.
The ABV in these cases was looking totally normal for one draw at that temperature -> slightly yellow. No combustion, not even close. This ugly taste doesn't come from the material, it has nothing to do with temperature. I also would exclude dirt or foreign substance which made his way into the ELB. The problem has occurred that often already and since i pack only about .05 in the most cases it's simply not possible that i overlook things like that. In other words, yes, i exclude all factors, only one is that the unit is defective again.

Thanks for the kind words.
But i already have enough of this, i am going to return the unit and the 2 hydra tubes.
So we'll probably never know what the hell happened here to me but luckily i finally managed to not care anymore and make vapexhale a closed chapter for me
