Cloudy...
This email from VXL team made my day:

"
International Vaporists, we are happy to say that we can now announce an official ship date of March 12th!

You will be receiving an email from us requesting the additional $50 shipping fees and once that is completed, we will get your unit ready for shipment.

We apologize for the delays but we hope you understand that as a US based company, we wanted to make sure that we had all of our ducks in a row before launching our international model.

We very much look forward to getting these in your hands and so that you can enjoy the quality vapor experiences that your US counterparts were lucky enough to have over the last few months.

Now, it is back to work for us so that we can hit the March 12th ship date :) thanks again for all your patience!

With much love,

StoneMonkey, Troi, VaporRing, Ben, Gia, and Prof Vape

You VapeXhale Team
"

So happy right now, going to celebrate it with my cloud+ !!

I don't know, if you have to turn your car on and off and then on again before it starts, that would be a defect. Hopefully they can resolve the sensor issue . . .

Hmmm, a car??? That's quite an apples-to-oranges comparison. That analogy could be used with just about anything having a power switch. If I had to choose a comparison, it would be a GFI switch, where an environmental factor can result in the switch disabling itself and requiring a manual reset. Of course, that is intentional behavior but in the case of the EVO, it is . . . also intentional behavior.

One sensor is checking the delta between its reading and that of the other sensor. Since this is being done on purpose, there must be a intentional function for which there is some necessity or value. Now, perhaps it could be implemented differently thereby eliminating any need for a reset, but for all we know that could be counter-productive. As long as the unit's performance is not compromised, and clearly there is some purpose being served, IMO this is not an issue needing to be fixed. Or as my wife likes to remind me, "don't borrow trouble." :)

I'm just saying that if you turn something on and it doesn't come on, that's a defect if you have to shut it off and then turn it back on. Theoretically there is a life expectancy of the switch, and you are now flipping it more than you should and thereby decreasing the life of the switch. However, I'm sure we don't need to worry about that.

I'm just saying that if you have to turn it on and off, that's a defect, and not by design. And like I also said, I don't have this problem, *knock on wood*.

Edit: Also, I want to re-iterate that I absolutely love my EVO :-)

Except that it is by design?

I mean, SM told us why it happens, its a safety feature...

Ok, this is the last thing I'll say about this and then I'm done with this issue. If it was a safety feature, then you wouldn't be able to turn on your Cloud at all. Most people are not doing anything except power cycling the machine and not moving it from a cold environment or a warm environment. So, what's happening is you are "resetting" the sensor values to get it to turn on (I believe). So I'm not sure the "safety" feature of this. I understand the reasoning for the two sensors, and the delta, so the glass doesn't crack, heat up too quickly, etc.

They should be resetting the sensor every time you turn it on. And maybe they do, but maybe it gets stuck. Again that's just my speculation

This isn't a knock on the EVO or an issue for me at all. I have no problem with my EVO. But how can you expect a company to get better if you say, "Yeah, you know I have to turn my unit on and off a few times before it starts heating but that's ok." I don't know, but I think in my opinion that's a little bug that they would want to fix in the long run. And it doesn't seem like a hardware defect or anything like that, just something in the firmware. I would guess that I'm pretty sure they are trying to fix this in their newest firmwares.

---------

Again, I want to re-iterate that I love my EVO and it is the best vape I've ever used. And seeing as how I don't experience the turn off/on issue, it's working flawless for me. Cloudy, cloudy days ahead. Love this thing :-)

I've been harping for the botanicals from the beginning :-). Some people tell me, newVape, why don't you just buy the herbals individually. NOOOO. I want the custom blend created by SM's dad. That would be amazing :-).

.... you forgot to rabble:\

My dad has been traveling over the last few months. He didn't like our initial blends and wanted to super charge them. I've had trouble getting a hold of him as he is in Asia at least half of the time so we're working with some other herbalists and to see if I can get sign off from my pops. He is now an investor in the company so I guess he still gets to dictate what this monkey can do. First things first, international orders need to go out!

VXL has quality control issues - that's a fact. If they want to improve in that department, they'd best not listen to all of the fan boys on this forum. Seriously.

That said, my OG Cloud has been running perfect for over a year now. Pounds of green through it without a single hiccup along the way. Problems or not, the Cloud is the ultimate drop kick ya in the nuts vaporizer. Paired up with some good glass it is pretty untouchable!

Fuck the fanboi talk. I thought we don't insult each other here at FC? Anyone who disagrees with someone else is now {insert derogatory name} fuck no, this isn't neo-gaf.

Calling others "fanboys" is rude. Please don't do that again.

When I vape and get just high enough I know I will be returning for more. My question: I turn the evo off always. Is there a length of time you can keep it on that is easier on it than on the "off on off on off "?

Im a little hesitant to post this here because I love me some VXC and @stonemonkey55. I gotta admit, I dont have the money to buy some of those super whiz bang hydratubes so I use my Evo through glass.. sometimes two of them! I havent brought out my OG Vertigo HT from my original Cloud in a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time. Ive been using either a smaller bubbler from China (D020) or my Mobius stereo Matrix 60mm tube but I found something better and I wanted to share it.

On a whim, I bought this.

If you have an 18 male to 18 male adapter, it basically doubles as a Hydrafoot and I have to say, this is the BEST piece of glass Ive ever run my Evos through and that includes my Mobius. It just keeps on hitting and its smooth.. I cant say enough good about it.

Im going to get nuts this weekend with my Vertigo HT, two Evos and the base of this piece. Pictures and possible a video will be forthcoming.

Curious, isn't it bad to put cold glass on top a hot EVO gong? I've seen comments about refrigerated and freezing HT's and glass, but always assumed the thermal shock was a big no-no?

Update - oh the strains! Yes, strains make a HUGE difference in the EVO. Last night I was lucky to obtain some extremely quality C99, White Rhino, and Montreal Chemo and the clouds and flavour were incredible. Looking forward to testing out the Sweet Pink Grapefruit, Jack Herer, and Chocolope today! At 3:00 on the dial I was getting nice medium brown fully extracted ABV.

You're quite right about the EVO and tasting the difference between good strains. Good quality tasty bud shines through the EVO.
I wouldn't be concerned too much about placing your glass in the fridge as long as you want. I'll try to avoid freezing glass and placing on a hot EVO.
I mostly vape 99% of the time in an outdoor shed. NW winter weather where I am, gets cold, not super freezing but as cold as to freeze the circ/turbine HT. Even frozen, I managed to vape through it for fun. Percs didn't fire but vapor made it through the ice and was tasty. I didn't push it longer or let it sit on the EVO. After every hit I took it off.
As I said, IMO there's no danger in refrigerating your glass NOT too close to freezing point. Like 5C to 8C.

My concern is to @macbill ,
I remember placing an open uncapped water glass bottle, and drinking after a couple hours from it. It smelled and tasted like the food of my fridge :)
I see you ziplock and Tupperware as much as possible, but unless you are a surgical bleach clean every single hour your fridge.... Are your beautiful HT and base getting all the fridge taste & flavors & smells inside it??
IMO I will cork the mouthpiece and put a stopper or a cork in the base female joint. Bag the mouthpiece & the female stand joint, or the whole setup.
If it don't bothers you the way you're already doing it, cheers, if my ideas helped, let me know.
Stay vaped...

elmomuzz

That just happened...
I also keep my cloud in a outdoor shed. No problem with a cold or frozen tube unless it's so frozen no air can flow through it which does happen occasionally.

You can leave it on. The EVO will shut itself off in approx 1 hour. Toggling the switch (not too quickly) resets the timer.
